Dell Inspiron 17 7000 Serie

Dell, eine führende Firma in der Laptop- und Computerwelt bietet Laptops für unterschiedliche Nutzer-Anforderungen in verschiedenen Kategorien an. Das Dell Inspiron 17R ist eines der jüngsten Produkte von Dell, das die Ansprüche an ein durchdachtes Desktop-Replacement erfüllen soll. Der 17-Zoll Bildschirm ist dafür ideal. Obwohl es aus Kunststoff gefertigt ist, erinnert die schöne Lackierung an Bildschirmdeckel und Tastaturseite an gebürstetes Metall. Im Desktop-Replacement-Markt mit seiner Fülle an unterschiedlich wertigen Angeboten, ist die Skalierbarkeit dieses Laptops ein klarer Vorteil. Er kann mit Intel’s i3, i5 oder i7 Prozessor ausgestattet und damit besser an die Kundenbedürfnissse angepasst werden.

Von einem Desktop-Replacement ist keine lange Akkulaufzeit zu erwarten. Und so schränkt eine kurze Akkulaufzeit auch bei diesem klobigen und schweren 17-Zöller die Portablität weiter ein. Die niedrige Bildschirmqualität ist ein weiterer Nachteil. Ein FullHD Bildschirm wäre statt des 1,600 x 900 Pixel Bildschirms die bessere Wahl gewesen. Wer Portabilität oder ultimative Spieleleistung benötigt, ist hier falsch. Doch als preisgünstiges Desktop Replacement mit Multimedia-Fähigkeiten bietet das Dell Inspiron 17R ein gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis.

Das Dell Inspiron 17-5748 ist ein Mittelklasse-Laptop, der Produktivität und Spaß neu definiert. Es mag nicht so erstklassig wie ein XPS-Model sein, doch es leistet trotzdem. To be fair, we should say that there are some notebooks on the market now which outperform Inspiron 17 (5749) in every aspect, by far. Dell’s new multimedia station looks sturdy, reliable and even appealing, somehow though, today that’s not enough. We want thin and strong construction, high performance and attractive design. Yes, in one product. On the bright side, Inspiron 17 (5749) is robust, has a long 36 months warranty (conditions may vary in different countries) and has a spill-resistant keyboard. The problem is that it weighs more than 3.2 kg, it isn’t very upgradable (especially for a 17-incher), has a TN screen with PWM across all brightness levels, has a mediocre battery life and is equipped with not less than adequate CPU and GPU.

In the hardware department, the CPU fits the pricing as well as the TN panel, which, by the way, performed really well again (except for the use of PWM), because most 17-inchers tend to be on the more expensive side, but we cannot say the same about the GPU. Last year’s 5758 was better off with the NVIDIA GeForce 920M since the Radeon R5 M335 in the new model doesn’t quite cut it. Again, if you are looking for a 17-inch device, the Dell Inspiron 5759 is okay, but there are far better 15-inch options with more to offer or you can also take a look at the Pavilion 17, Aspire E5-773G or the HP ProBook 470 G3, which all have a tad better performance/price ratio. Also, we’ve noticed some oddly high temperatures under heavy workload, which weren’t present in the previous version and this may be due to the GPU. And finally, the battery life is little better because of the 6th generation CPU but hardly noticeable.

Das Dell Inspiron 17 7778 ist ein ungewöhnliches Hochleistungs-Convertible mit einem großen 17-Zoll-Bildschirm. Verglichen mit andreen 13-Zoll- oder 15-Zoll-Laptops der gleichen Inspiron-Serie, ist dieser 17-Zoll-Laptop mit leistungsstärkerer Hardware ausgestattet. Das Dell Inspiron 17 7778 verfügt über eine Intel Core i7 (sechste Generation) 6500U CPU, 12 GB DDR4 RAM und eine eigenständige Nvidia GeForce 940MX Grafikkarte mit 2 GB GDDR5 SDRAM. Der Prozessor unterstützt die Hyper-Threading-Technologie, Intel Smart Cache und Intel-Turbo-Boost-2.0 und kann die Taktrate bis zu maximal 3,1 GHz erhöhen. Zudem kann der Hauptspeicher auf ein Maximum von 16 GB aufgerüstet werden, indem das 4-GB-Modul durch ein 8-GB-Modul ersetzt wird. In puncto Speicher ist das Gerät für hohe Übertragungsraten mit einer 512 GB SSD ausgestattet. Das Dell Inspiron 17 7778 verfügt über einen 17,3 Zoll (43,9 cm) großen FHD Truelife LED-beleuchteten Widescreen Touchscreen mit weiten Blickwinkeln. Truelife bedeutet, dass es sich um einen glänzenden Bildschirm handelt der tiefere Farben und Kontraste zulasten von Verwendung in hellen Umgebungen liefert. Ein 2-in-1-Laptop mit einem 17,3-Zoll-Bildschirm ist definitiv nicht üblich, denn die meisten angebotenen Convertibles haben einen viel kleineren Bildschirm. Ein großer Convertible-Laptop mag für mobile User nicht besonders angenehm sein, doch er eignet sich definitiv gut für Verwendung in Innenräumen wie von Heimusern oder Office-Usern. In puncto Betriebssystem läuft das Gerät unter Windows 10 Home 64-bit und es verfügt über eine 30-Tages-Testversion von Microsoft Office und ein 12-Monats-Abo von McAfee LiveSafe. Zu den Audio-Features dieses Laptops gehören Stereo-Lautsprecher, Subwoofer und zwei Mikrofone mit Realtek ALC3234-CG Audio-Codec und MaxxAudio Pro für hochwertige Audio-Ein- und -Ausgabe. Der Laptop verfügt über einen 4-Zellen-Akku mit einer Kapazität von 56 Wh, der laut Dell bis zu 7:25 Stunden Akkulaufzeit bei normaler Verwendung liefert. Für Sicherheit und Robustheit wurde das Dell Inspiron 17 7778 auf Zuverlässigkeit getestet und es kann kurzzeitig Temperaturen von bis zu 65°C/149°F überleben. Die Scharniere des Laptops arbeiten auch noch nach 20.000-mal Öffnen und Schließen tadellos. Dies sorgt für eine höhere Zuverlässigkeit, welche man bei Verwendung des Laptops bemerken kann. Die Scharniere fühlen sich stabil an und scheinen auch bei rauerer Verwendung ihre Stärke beizubehalten, was für einen Convertible-Laptop sehr wichtig ist. In puncto Schnittstellenausstattung verfügt der Laptop wie üblich über integriertes Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi. Seine Chichlet-Tastatur mit Hintergrundlicht ist für alle Dell-Laptops ziemlich üblich. Sie eignet sich gut für allgemeine Verwendung und Tippen. In puncto Schnittstellen bietet das Dell Inspiron 17 7778 einen HDMI-Ausgang, drei USB-Ports, eine Kopfhörer-Mikrofon-Kombibuchse und einen 3-in-1-Kartenleser für SD, SDHC oder SDXC-Karten. Es gibt nicht viele Convertible-Laptops mit mehr als 13-Zoll Größe, doch für ein 17-Zoll-Modell ist das Dell Inspiron 17 7778 wahrlich bemerkenswert. Wenn jemand, aus welchem Grund auch immer ein 17 Zoll großes Tablet+Laptop benötigt, so ist dieser Laptops sicherlich eine gute Wahl. Allerdings für den Großteil der Nutzer, die bei einem 17-Zoll-Laptop keinen Touchscreen und keine Tablet-Funktionalität brauchen, gibt es viele andere Alternativen. Bereits ein Convertible im 15-Zoll-Formfaktor ist eine Seltenheit auf dem Markt, ganz zu schweigen von einem 17-Zoll-Screen. Gerade das macht allerdings es zu einem sinnvollen Gerät für User, die nach einem Convertible suchen, dies aber nicht unbedingt von A nach B tragen müssen. Das 2-in-1 Gerät besitzt ein starkes 360-Grad-Scharnier, welches zwei verschiedene Funktionsmodi ermöglicht: den Laptop- und den Tablet-Modus. Die Base kann um 360 Grad gefaltet werden, wobei die Tastatur dann an der Unterseite liegt. Wird das Convertible gefaltet, führt dies zur automatischen Sperre der Tastatur. Erfreulicherweise hält das sehr solide Scharnier den Screen in jeder Position aufrecht, es kommt zu keinen bis sehr geringen Erschütterungen. Auf der Deckelrückseite des Dell Inspiron 17 7778 lässt das Gerät ein glänzendes silberfarbenes und mattes Brushed-Metall Finish offenbaren und auch die Base hat dieses metallähnliches Design. Ein Vorteil dieses Metalldesigns ist es, dass Fingerabdrücke nicht sichtbar werden. Die Dell-typischen abgerundeten Ecken tragen ebenfalls zu dem gewohnt simplen und schmucklosen Äußeren bei, außer eines Dell Logos sowie einer Zierleiste auf der Oberseite des Deckels finden sich keine weiteren Dekoelemente auf dem Laptop. Der Convertible-Laptop misst 22,6 x 412,5 x 277,5 (0,89 x 16,24 x 10,93 in) und wiegt 2,77 kg (97,71 oz / 6,11 pounds), was ihn nicht unbedingt zu einem idealen Begleiter für den Alltag macht. Das Dell Inspiron 17 7778 hat einen Intel Core i7-6500U Prozessor zu bieten, eine NVIDIA GeForce 940MX graphics adapter, 16 GB DDR4 RAM eine 512-GB-SSD, was eine große Medienbibliothek durchaus möglich macht. Es ist nicht ungewöhnlich, dass Convertibles keinen separaten Grafikadapter erhalten, für das etwas größere Dell Inspiron 17 7778 hätten wir uns einen solchen für 3D-Rendering oder Casual Games aber dennoch erwartet. Das 17,3-Zoll-IPS-Display mit Touch-Funktion in 16:9 hat eine Auflösung von 1.920 x 1.080 Pixel. Die Pixeldichte ist mit 127 ppi spürbar niedriger als in anderen Laptops auf dem Markt, was vor allem dem großen Display-Formfaktor gschuldet ist. Außerdem ist die Displayoberfläche glänzend, was für einen hohen Kontrast und ein helles Bild sorgt. Obwohl es sich beim Dell Inspiron 17 7778 um ein sehr großes Convertible-Gerät handelt, wurde kein Ethernet Port verbaut, weswegen User sich mit Wi-Fi begnügen müssen, welches von einem Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 (a/b/g/n/ac) befeuert wird. Außerdem sind Bluetooth 4.2, 3 USB-Ports (USB 2.0 und 3.0) mit an Bord. Das System läuft mit Microsoft Windows 10 Home 64 Bit und bietet eine HD-Webcam und IR-Sensoren, um die Gesichtserkennung von Windows 10 sowie optimierte Videotelefonie-Erfahrungen zu generieren. Klar, wer gerne stationär den Tablet-Modus von Windows 10 verwendet, dürfte mit dieser schon etwas ungewöhnlichen Kombination durchaus seine Freude haben. Aber auch als herkömmlicher Office-Knecht schlägt sich das Inspiron gut - lediglich die Tastatur hätte bei dem Preis etwas hochklassiger ausfallen dürfen.

Mit dem Inspiron 17 Modell 7773 hat Dell ein sehr großes Convertible-Notebook geschaffen. Das Gehäuse besteht aus gebürsteten Aluminium, was dem Inspiron 17 eine hohe Stabilität verleiht. Es sieht dadurch zudem sehr edel aus. Das 2-in-1-Gerät besitzt mit 17,3 Zoll (43,9 cm) Bilddiagonale eine ungewöhnliche Größe.

Given its marketed purpose, the Inspiron 7773 falls into a category of its own and it’s really hard to recommend any other 17-inch convertibles as direct rivals. Still, if you are not invested in the 2-in-1 form factor, the significantly less expensive but still capable Acer Aspire 5 (A517-51G) is a good way to start. And for just about the same price, you can get a decent gaming laptop with GTX 1050 Ti or even GTX 1060 on board. Only, of course, if you are looking for a more powerful alternative.

Das große 17-Zoll-Convertible von Dell bekommt ein CPU-Upgrade spendiert. Neben der technischen Neuerung wurde auch das Gehäuse komplett überarbeitet. Ob diese Veränderungen sinnvoll sind und ob die neue Whiskey-Lake-U-CPU für mehr Leistung sorgen kann, erfahren Sie in diesem ausführlichen Review.

Dell: Dell ist ein 1984 gegründeter US-amerikanischer Hersteller (Sitz Texas) von Computer-Hardware und gehört zu den grössten internationalen Herstellern sowohl in Bezug auf Marktanteile als auch hinsichtlich Notebook-Modellen. Die Produktpalette umfasst unter anderem Desktops, Notebooks, Speichersysteme, Monitore, Server, Drucker, Unterhaltungselektronik und Peripheriegeräte. Dell bietet Laptops an, die ich für verschiedene Einsatzbereiche eignen, z. B. Business-Laptops, Gaming-Laptops, Ultra-Portables und Workstations. Die Business-Notebooks von Dell aus den Latitude- und Precision-Serien sind eine Option für professionelle Anwender und Unternehmen.

2023 hatte Dell einen ungefähren Marktanteil von 17% am weltweiten PC-Absatz und war damit die Nummer 3 nach Lenovo und HP.

Für Gaming-Enthusiasten ist die Marke Alienware von Dell für Gaming-Notebooks vorgesehen.

Diese Karten können nur sehr alte und sehr anspruchslose 3D Spiele flüssig darstellen. Anwendungen wie Office, Internet surfen, Bildbearbeitung oder (SD) Videoschnitt sind jedoch ohne große Einschränkungen möglich.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) HD Graphics: Intel HD Graphics oder GMA HD genannte onboard Grafikkarte welche im Package der Core i3/i5/i7 Arrandale Dual-Core Prozessoren untergebracht wird. Je nach Prozessormodell maximal mit 500 bis 766 MHz getaktet (Turbo Boost). Von Lenovo anscheinend auch GMA5700MHD genannt. Die gleichgenannte Intel HD Graphics Prozessorgrafik in den Sandy Bridge Prozessoren basiert auf einer neueren Architektur.

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470: Einsteiger DirectX 11 Chip mit GDDR5 Unterstützung und hohen Taktraten. Eyefinity Unterstützung (max 4 Monitore mit DisplayPorts) und 8-Kanal HD Audio über HDMI. Leistung etwa auf Niveau einer 8600M GT.

Einige nicht anspruchsvolle aktuelle Spiele können mit geringen Details noch flüssig gespielt werden. Für Office und Video natürlich ausreichende Leistungsreserven.

NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M: Basiert auf die GeForce GT 425M mit leicht erhöhten Taktraten.

Intel HD Graphics 4400: In den Haswell-Prozessoren (4. Generation Core) integrierte Grafikkarte in mittlerer Ausbaustufe (GT2). Je nach Prozessor unterschiedlich getaktet.

Intel HD Graphics 5500: Integrierte Grafikkarte (GT2), welche in einigen Broadwell-ULV-CPUs (15 Watt TDP) verbaut wird.

Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.

NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M: Entweder umbenannte GeForce GT 540M / 550M Grafikkarte oder 28nm GF117 basierend.

AMD Radeon HD 8730M: GCN basierende Mittelklasse Grafikkarte

NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M: Stärkster GT Chip der 600M Serie und daher eine sehr schnelle Mittelklasse Grafikkarte basierend auf den GK107 Chip.

NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M: Schnelle Mittelklasse-Grafikkarte der GeForce-GT-700M-Baureihe. Basiert auf der Kepler-Architektur und wird von TSMC in einem 28-nm-Prozess gefertigt.

AMD Radeon HD 8870M: Schnellste Performance GPU der 8800M Serie basierend auf demselben Chip wie die Radeon HD 7870M.

NVIDIA GeForce 840M: Notebook-Grafikkarte der Mittelklasse, die auf der Maxwell-Architektur basiert. Wird in 28 Nanometern gefertigt und verfügt über ein 64 Bit DDR3-Speicherinterface.

NVIDIA GeForce 845M: Mittelklasse-Grafikkarte der GeForce-800M-Baureihe. Basiert auf dem Maxwell-Chip GM108.

AMD Radeon R5 M335: Grafikkarte der Einstiegsklasse basierend auf einer 28nm GPU

NVIDIA GeForce 940MX: Notebook-Grafikkarte der Mittelklasse, die auf der Maxwell-Architektur basiert. Wird in 28 Nanometern gefertigt und verfügt über ein 64 Bit GDDR5/DDR3-Speicherinterface. Im Vergleich zur 940M kam die Unterstützung für GDDR5 hinzu.

AMD Radeon R8 M445DX: Dual-Graphics-Verbund aus integrierter Radeon R5 (Bristol Ridge) und dedizierter Radeon R7 M440. Je nach Treiberunterstützung teilweise auch langsamer als die R7 M440 allein und anfällig für Mikroruckler.

AMD Radeon R7 M445: Grafikkarte der Einstiegsklasse basierend auf einer 28nm GPU

NVIDIA GeForce MX150: Pascal GP108 basierende Notebook-Grafikkarte und mobile Version der GT 1030. Bietet 384 Shader und meist 2 GB GDDR5 Grafikspeicher.

Intel Core i5:

430M: Der Core i5-430M besitzt im Vergleich zum i7-640 nur 3MB L3 Cache und taktet zwischen 2.26-2.53 GHz (je nach Auslastung dank Turbo Mode). VT-d, Trusted Execution und AES Funktionen fehlen dem 430M jedoch. Durch Hyperthreading werden bis zu 4 Threads gleichzeitig bearbeitet. Im Package ist auch noch eine integrierte Grafikkarte (GMA HD mit 500-766 MHz) und ein Speichercontroller (beide noch 45nm Fertigung). Dadurch ist der gesamte TDP von 35 Watt nicht sehr hoch.

460M: Schneller Mittelklasse Doppelkernprozessor mit HyperThreading (4 Threads gleichzeitig abarbeitbar) aber ohne AES Funktionen.

2410M: Auf Sandy Brige Architektur basierender Doppelkernprozessor mit 2.3 GHz (Turbo 2.6-2.9 GHz) mit integrierter Grafikkarte (650-1200MHz) und integriertem DDR3 Speicherkontroller.

3210M: Auf der Ivy Brige Architektur basierender High-End Doppelkernprozessor (2,5-3,1GHz) mit integrierter Grafikkarte und integriertem DDR3 Speicherkontroller.

3317U:

Stromspar-Doppelkernprozessor mit nur 1.7 GHz Basisfrequenz aber einem Turbo bis zu 2.6 GHz (bei ausreichender Kühlung). Integriert die Intel HD Graphics 4000 (jedoch nur mit 350 - 1050 MHz Taktung) und einen DDR3-1600 Speicherkontroller.

4200U: Auf der Haswell-Architektur basierender ULV Dual-Core Prozessor mit integrierter Grafikkarte und DDR3-Speicherkontroller.

5200U: Auf der Broadwell-Architektur basierender, sparsamer ULV-Prozessor für kompakte Notebooks und Ultrabooks. Integriert unter anderem zwei CPU-Kerne sowie eine Grafikeinheit und wird in 14-Nanometer-Technik gefertigt.

6200U: Auf der Skylake-Architektur basierender ULV-SoC (System-on-a-Chip) für schlanke Notebooks und Ultrabooks. Integriert unter anderem zwei CPU-Kerne sowie eine Grafikeinheit und wird in 14-Nanometer-Technik gefertigt.

Intel Core i3:

330M: Der Core i3-330M ist ein Mittelklasse Dual-Core Prozessor ohne Turbo Boost Modus. Daher läuft die CPU mit max. 2.13 GHz. Durch Hyperthreading werden bis zu 4 Threads gleichzeitig bearbeitet. Intel Kaby Lake Refresh:

i5-8550U: Auf der Kaby-Lake-Architektur basierender ULV-SoC (System-on-a-Chip) für schlanke Notebooks und Ultrabooks. Integriert unter anderem vier CPU-Kerne mit 1,8 - 4 GHz und HyperThreading sowie eine Grafikeinheit (300 - 1.100 MHz) und wird in 14-Nanometer-Technik (14nm+) gefertigt.

i5-8250U: Auf der Kaby-Lake-Architektur basierender ULV-SoC (System-on-a-Chip) für schlanke Notebooks und Ultrabooks. Integriert unter anderem vier CPU-Kerne mit 1,6 - 3,4 GHz und HyperThreading sowie eine Grafikeinheit und wird in 14-Nanometer-Technik (14nm+) gefertigt.

17.00: Diese Displaygrösse ist ein Standardformat für Desktop-Replacements. Die DTR-Laptops sind schwerer zu tragen, brauchen mehr Strom, dafür sind Texte leicht lesbar und hohe Auflösungen kein Problem. DTR sind hauptsächlich für stationären Schreibtischeinsatz vorgesehen, wo Gewicht und Energiehunger egal sind. Dafür genießt man die Vorzüge hoher Auflösungen (mehr Details, besser lesbar).

Most smartphones and only a few tablets fall into this weight category. Only a few smartphones are heavier and should rather be considered tablets.

3.4 kg:

Ein Laptop mit diesem Gewicht ist vergleichsweise schwer und weniger auf Mobilität ausgelegt als auf Verwendung am Schreibtisch. Die Geräte glänzen daher auch eher weniger mit Akkulaufzeit als mit großem Bildschirm und höherer Leistung.

75.97%: Weltbewegend ist diese Bewertung nicht. Diese Bewertung muss man eigentlich als unterdurchschnittlich ansehen, denn es gibt etwa ebenso mehr Geräte mit schlechtere Beurteilungen als Besseren. Eine Kaufempfehlung kann man nur mit viel Wohlwollen darin sehen, es sei denn es handelt sich um Websites, die generell streng urteilen.
