Honor 7

Das Honor 7 verfügt über eine 20 MP-Kamera an der Rückseite und eine 8-MP-Kamera an der Vorderseite. Sein Panorama-Modus ermöglicht ausgezeichnete Querformat-Aufnahmen mit seiner kratzfesten Saphir-Linse. Die Front-Kamera verfügt für bessere und hellere Selfies über ein weiches Licht. Zudem gibt es 10 Beauty-Level-Einstellungen und das macht perfekte Bilder zum Kinderspiel. Der 5,2 Zoll große Full-HD-Bildschirm wurde auf niedrigen Stromverbrauch optimiert und ist in einem soliden, hochwertigen Aluminium-Körper eingebettet. Obwohl die Auflösung von 1080 x 1920 Pixeln niedriger ist als die QHD-Bildschirme anderer hochwertiger Modelle, ist das in Anbetracht des Kaufpreises ziemlich vernünftig. Unterhalb der Kamera befindet sich ein Fingerabdruckleser, der so positioniert ist, dass der Zeigefinger beim Aufheben des Phone genau dort zu liegen kommt. Damit erfordert es wenig Aufwand diesen zu nutzen. Zudem funktioniert er auch mit nassen oder verschwitzten Fingern gut. Eine 2,2 GHz Cortex A53 Quad-Core-CPU und eine 1,5 GHz Cortex-A53 treiben das Phone an. Das Honor 7 unterstützt Dual-SIM. Allerdings arbeitet einer der SIMs nur im langsamen 2G-Netzwerk und man muss auf Erweiterungen mit microSD-Karten verzichten, wenn man den beide SIMs benutzt. Trotzdem ist es schön, ein Dual-SIM-Phone zu haben. Der Lithium-Polymer-Akku mit einer Nennkapazität von 3100 mAh hält 8 h und 20 min Sprechzeit und bis zu 250 h im Standby-Modus durch.

Es liegt außerordentlich bequem in der Hand und Honor konnte auch der üblichen Rutsch-Problematik beikommen. Sogar bei leichtem Griff wirkt es nie so, als würde das Honor 7X aus der Hand gleiten. Zu einem sehr günstigen Preis können User von modernen Trends und Merkmalen wie schlanke Rahmen und zwei Linsen profitieren – eine fantastische Wahl. Das Gehäuse ist aus Metall und die Glas-Front verfügt über 2.5D-Krümmung, die sich perfekt in die abgerundeten Seiten des Phones einfügt. Die Rückseite des Honor 7X ist flach. Unserem Testgerät hatte eine matte, blaue Oberfläche. Außerdem befindet ein schneller Fingerabdruckleser auf einer leicht findbaren, vertieften Stelle. Oben links befinden sich zwei deutlich hervortretende Kamera-Linsen. Hier wurde mehr gespart, denn die Kamera-Linsen sind beim Huawei P10, Mate 10 und sogar dem Honor 9 mit der Rückseite auf gleicher Höhe. Das 7X sieht schön und funktionell, jedoch nicht gerade umwerfend aus. Was das Aussehen betrifft, ist definitiv das Bildschirm-zu-Gehäuse-Verhältnis von 82,9 % das größte Kaufargument. Es ist nicht ganz so beeindruckend wie beim S8 oder iPhone X, doch es übertrifft das Pixel 2XL, welches nur 76,4 % erreicht. Der größere Bildschirm führt nicht zwangsläufig zu einem größeren Phone und die Vorteile eines 18:9-Seitenverhältnisses sind gegeben. Im Querformat passt mehr Inhalt auf den Bildschirm und Gaming und Videos sind immersiver. Das Display-Menü in den Einstellungen bietet einen Full-Screen-Modus. Hier könne User festlegen, welche Apps nach Öffnen automatisch die gesamte verfügbare Länge des Bildschirms nutzen. Diese Einstellung taucht auch oft in Apps auf, was es Users erspart die Einstellungen zu öffnen. Leider können, anders als beim Mate 10 Pro, die Navigationstasten von Android nicht versteckt werden. Die beiden Kamera Linsen, die sich in zwei Ausbuchtungen an der Rückseite befinden, sind möglicherweise die am wenigstens schön aussehendsten Teile des Phones. Doch das ist leicht verzeihlich, da sie funktionieren gut. Da das Phone die gleiche Android-Benutzerschnittstelle nutzt wie andere Huawei-Phones, wird die Kamera-App des Honor 7X allen bekannt sein, die ein Huawei P10 oder Mate 9 verwendet haben. Die App ist einfach, logisch und bietet viele Features. Nach links Gleiten zeigt eine Liste von Optionen, nach rechts Gleiten verschiedene Kamera-Modi. Icons für Spezial-Merkmale werden entlang der Oberkante des Bildschirms angezeigt. Die f/2.2 Hauptlinse hat 16 MP, doch die sekundäre Linse hat nur 2 MP. Anders als viele Huawei-Phone nimmt die letztere nicht nur monochrom auf. Die beiden Kameras arbeiten zusammen, um einen Bokeh- oder Unschärfe-Effekt zu erzeugen. Außerdem wurde die Software optimiert. Dadurch wurde Weitwinkel-Fokusierung sechsfach schneller und die Leistung unter schlechten Lichtbedingungen hat sich verbessert. In puncto Leistung bietet das Honor 7X einen Kirin 659 Octa-Core-Prozessor mit vier 2.36-GHz-Kernen und vier 1.7-GHz-Kernen sowie eine Mali T830 GPU. Mit einer SD-Karte kann der Speicher des Honor 7X um bis zu 256 GB erweitert werden. Das Honor 7x ist im wesentlich ein billigeres Huawei Nova 2i, bei welchem es sich auch um ein Budget-Gerät mt 18:9-Seitenverhältnis von Huawei handelt. Es ist in fast jeder Hinsicht vollständig gleich und definitiv die bessere Wahl. Weitere Alternativen sind beispielsweise das Oppo F5 und das Vivo V7 Plus. Die Kanten sind abgerundet, sodass sich das Phone gut halten lässt und gut in den Händen des Users bleibt. Das Phone wiegt 165 Gramm und misst 156,5 x 75,3 x 7,6 mm. Das Honor 7X verfügt über einen 5,93 Zoll großen IPS-LCD-Bildschirm mit einer Auflösung von 1.080 x 2.160 Pixeln, was eine Pixeldichte von 407 PPI ergibt. Die Blickwinkelstabilität ist gut, doch die Helligkeit könnte für Verwendung unter direktem Sonnenlicht zu niedrig sein. Im Gegensatz zu modernen Flagships hat der Bildschirm keine gerundeten Kanten, um besser zum Gehäuse zu passen. Daher sieht die Vorderseite ziemlich merkwürdig aus, wenn der Bildschirm eingeschaltet ist. An der Unterkante befinden sich ein Micro-USB-Ladegerät, ein Lautsprecher und eine Kopfhörerbuchse. Die Lautstärke reicht für normale Verwendung und offen gesagt kann man sich von einem Smartphone dieser Preisklasse nicht mehr erwarten. An der Rückseite befinden sich eine Dual-Kamera-Lösung, ein Blitz und ein zentral positionierter Fingerabdruckleser. Das Honor 7X bietet einen der schnellsten Fingerabdruckleser in Smartphones. Dieser entsperrt das Phone bei jeder Verwendung unmittelbar. Das Honor 7X schafft es mit einem weiteren Trend des Jahres 2017 mitzuhalten, nämlich einem Dual-Kamera-Setup. Seine primäre Kamera verfügt über einen 16-MP-Sensor und eine sekundäre 2-MP-Linse, die vorwiegend für bessere Hochformat-Bilder verwendet wird. Ebenso kann die 8-MP-Frontkamera dank Verwendung einiger Software-Erweiterungen gute Hochformat-Photos aufnehmen. Dieses Merkmal findet man auch bei anderen, ähnlichen Budget-Geräten wie dem Oppo F5, Huawei Nova 2i und Vivo V7+. In puncto Leistung ist das Honor 7X mit einem Kirin 659 Octa-Core-Prozessor, 4 GB RAM und 64 GB internen Speicher ausgestattet. Zudem unterstützt das Phone MicroSD-Karten mit bis zu 256 GB. Diese Ausstattung liefert mehr als genug Leistung für verzögerungsfreies Navigieren in der Benutzeroberfläche und Verwendung von Apps. Außerdem laufen die meisten Games des Playstore mit minimalen bis mittleren Grafikeinstellungen. Das Honor 7X wird mit der EMUI 5.1 Benutzeroberfläche auf Android 7.0 Nougat ausgeliefert. Es könnte sein, dass es ein Update auf Android 8.0 geben wird, doch dies wurde noch nicht von Huawei bestätigt. Der 3.340-mAh-Akku unterstützt trotz MicroUSB-Port Fast-Charging . Auf den ersten Blick handelt es sich beim Honor 7X um ein ziemlich ordentliches Mittelklasse-Smartphone. Bislang gibt es im Preissegment bis 300 Euro nicht viele Smartphones mit Display im Format 18:9 (2:1). Das große Displaypanel ist der Preisklasse angemessen, es gibt ein gut verarbeitetes Metallgehäuse und der Fingerabdrucksensor arbeitet schnell und präzise.

Es ist auf dem ersten Blick nicht zu erkennen, dass wir mit dem Honor 7X ein Gerät der Mittelklasse vor uns liegen haben. Klar ist aber, dass auch irgendwo gespart werden muss. Beim Akku handelt es sich dem Vernehmen nach um den gleichen Akku, der schon im Honor 6X verbaut war. Dieser dürfte mit seinen 3340 mAh Kapazität aber vollkommen ausreichen. Keine schlimme Sparmaßnahme also.

Running a combination of Android 7.0 (Nougat) and EMUI 5.1, a boot-up from cold takes 35 seconds (not a speed record but reasonable). The overall performance delivered by the Honor 7X is of a reasonable standard apart from the disappointing length of time produced by the video viewing test. Honor 7C

Das Honor 7C ist ein günstiges Android-Smartphone und das günstigste Dual-Kamera-Smartphone zurzeit erhältlich. Für einen sehr erschwinglichen Preis bietet es Gesichtserkennung, eine duale Hauptkamera sowie einen großen Bildschirm, weshalb es eine interessante Option ist. Das Smartphone ist gut gebaut, aus einem Mix aus Aluminium und 2,5-D-Hartglas - diese Kombination wird meist nur bei High-End-Smartphones eingesetzt. Es scheint auch flott zu sein, alltägliche Aufgaben, wie etwa im Internet surfen, stellen kein Hindernis dar. Die Ein-/Aus-Taste und der Lautstärkeregler auf der rechten Seite des Gerätes sind leicht erreichbar, ein 3-in-1-Fach auf der linken Seite liefert Platz für zwei SIM-Karten und eine Micro-SD-Karte. Audio-Fans wird erfreuen, dass Honor die Kopfhörerbuchse beibehalten hat, sie befindet sich am unteren Rand des Gerätes. Daneben sitzen ein Lautsprecher sowie ein Micro-USB-Anschluss. Vorne befindet sich ein beträchtliches 5,99-Zoll-HD-Display im 18:9-Format, im Inneren ein Snapdragon-450-Chipsatz, 3 GB Arbeitsspeicher, und 32 GB Speicherplatz. Das Honor 7C läuft auf Android-8-Oreo und verfügt über eine 8-MP-Kamera sowie einen 3.000-mAh-Akku. Verbunden mit einem attraktiven Preis wird das 7C zu einem interessanten Paket. Die Basis-Variante des 7C kommt mit einem Snapdragon 450, 3 GB Arbeitsspeicher und 32 GB Speicherplatz, optional noch einem 3-in-1-Kartenschlitz oder 64 GB Speicherplatz. Dank der besseren Materialien und des Prozessors wirkt das Gerät wesentlich moderner. Es läuft schnell, geschmeidig und liegt gut in der Hand. Auf der Rückseite befindet sich außerdem ein Fingerabdruckleser, was eine praktische biometrische Sicherheitsfunktion ist.

Die duale Hauptkamera (13 MP + 2 MP) liefert gute Bilder. Bei Tageslicht gemachte Aufnahmen wirken scharf und haben einen fantastischen Bokeh-Effekt. Nachtaufnahmen sind dafür weniger klar und detailreich, was der Fall bei den meisten Smartphone-Kameras ist, High-End-Geräte ausgenommen. Die Vorderkamera ist eine andere Geschichte: Sie hat einen standardmäßigen 8-MP-Sensor, der, mit einem LED-Blitz gepaart, beeindruckend wirkt. Selfies überlaufen vor Details, selbst bei schlechten Lichtverhältnissen. Das Display ist allerdings etwas ganz anderes. Der 5,99-Zoll-FullView-LCD-Bildschirm im 18:9-Format (1440 x 720) beeindruckt nicht wirklich, die Blickwinkel und die maximale Helligkeit sind unterdurchschnittlich. Der unscharfe Text lässt sich nur schwer lesen, teilweise aufgrund der gewöhnlichen HD-Auflösung, Farben wirken etwas verfehlt. Heutzutage werden Mid-Range-Smartphones günstiger und besser. Manche haben sogar die Spezifikationen eines Flaggschiffs. Das Honor 7C ist nicht anders. Es nimmt zum Teil sehr gute Hardware, einschließlich ein 18:9-Display, und packt sie in ein recht gut aussehendes Gehäuse mit einem erschwinglichen Preis.

Honor 7S is clearly targeted at the first-time smartphone users and the company has priced it accordingly. Which we think is a bit steep. The phone comes loaded with a decent design and the display looks good as well. The camera performance is decent, though you should expect great performance from the processor. That said, the phone will face a stiff competition with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 5A, Yu Ace, Infinix Smart 2 and 10.Or D2.

We should note that the phone is not currently available in the US. However, if you are in Europe you can grab it for €119 in select countries. At this point, we don’t know whether Honor has any plans of launching the handset in the States. So for the time being, customers in the country who are looking for a budget phone can opt for the Honor 7X, which offers improved specs at a slightly higher price point.

Honor: 2014 gründete Huawei die Tochtermarke Honor unter der bestimmte Smartphone-Linien vertrieben werden. Gelegentlich werden die Produkte auch unter der Bezeichnung Huawei Honor geführt.

Der Marktanteil von Honor-Produkten ist überschaubar, aber es gibt einige Testberichte für Honor Smartphones mit durchschnittliche Bewertungen (2016).

Diese Karten können nur sehr alte und sehr anspruchslose 3D Spiele flüssig darstellen.  Anwendungen wie Office, Internet surfen, Bildbearbeitung oder (SD) Videoschnitt sind jedoch ohne große Einschränkungen möglich.

ARM Mali-T628 MP4: Im HiSilicon Kirin 920 SoC integrierte Grafikkarte für Smartphones und Tablets.

ARM Mali-T830 MP2: ARM-Grafikchip für Smartphones und Tablets, unter anderem im HiSilicon Kirin 650 integriert.

Qualcomm Adreno 506: Grafikchip für Smartphones und Tablets, integriert im Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC. Basiert auf die 500er Grafikarchitektur wie der schnellere Adreno 520 im Snapdragon 820.

Qualcomm Adreno 505: Grafikchip für Smartphones und Tablets, integriert im Qualcomm Snapdragon 430/435 SoC. Basiert auf die 500er Grafikarchitektur wie der schnellere Adreno 520 im Snapdragon 820.

3D Spiele sind auf diesen Vertretern nur in Ausnahmen spielbar, grundsätzlich sind die Grafiklösungen hierfür jedoch nicht geeignet. Office Programme und Internet surfen dürfte jedoch ohne Problem möglich sein.

Imagination PowerVR GE8100: Grafikchip für ARM-Prozessoren. Kleinste Ausbaustufe der Series8XE Serie (GE8xx0) mit einer Peak Fillrate von nur einem Pixel/Takt.
