Of course, that doesn't mean they'll get it right first time, just look at the original Samsung Galaxy Gear. In this case the original YotaPhone is a solid first step, but it's not at the stage where we'd recommend it over a single-screen device.

Our current budget favourite, the Moto G would even be a great alternative.

Das YotaPhone 2 ist das weltweit erste Smartphone mit zwei Bildschirmen, das die E-ink-Technologie nutzt um wichtige Informationen an der Rückseite des Phones anzuzeigen. Diese überraschende Fähigkeit gemeinsam mit dem eleganten Design des Smartphones könnten eine bestechende Kombination sein. Das YotaPhone 2 ist, um gut in die Hand des Nutzers zu passen, fast wie ein Stein gerundet. Das gesamte Gerät ist schwarz und hat ein minimalistisches Aussehen, das nur durch den modernen E-Ink-Graustufen-Bildschirm an der Rückseite akzentuiert wird. Das Android-4.4-KitKat-Gerät verfügt über einen Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 Quad-Core-Prozessor mit einer Taktrate von 2,2 GHz, 2 GB RAM und 32 GB internem Speicher und ist damit ein sehr fähiges modernes Gerät. Der Hauptbildschirm ist ein 5-Zoll großes AMOLED-Panel mit FHD-Auflösung und 442 ppi und das Eletronic-Paper-Display mit 16 Graustufen an der Rückseite ist 4,7 Zoll groß. Beide Bildschirme werden durch Corning Gorila Glass 3 geschützt und sind robust und kratzfest. Das YotaPhone 2 wiegt 145 g und liefert Bluetooth 4.0, FM-Radio, NFC und A-GPS+GLONASS. Es gibt eine 8-MP-Autofokus-Kamera in der Mitte oben an der Rückseite und eine 2,1-MP-Frontkamera für Video-Telefonie. If you get comfortable enough to stop powering the main screen for notifications and reply to text messages and such on the back screen, you’ll surely get more battery out of the Yota than you would out of an Android phone with a similar battery capacity. I had the phone for less than a week and my best case scenario was a day-and-a-half. With a little more practice and familiarity, I might have been able to squeeze a couple of days.

Despite warming to the YotaPhone 2 over our four days of use, we're still on the fence about it. Yes, it's a jump forward compared to the original and we can see genuine use from that second screen and we're not going to cry "gimmick" like we thought we might. But with current smartphones already providing a full day's battery anyway, irrelevant of whether you use them to read eBooks on or not, many just won't need to pay a premium for a dual-screen device.
