Now, the processor they use is being used pretty well, and the cooling solution is able to maintain the higher 28W sustained power limit of the Core i7-1165G7. Interestingly, the graphics performance is extremely poor, considering the power of this GPU. And this is with all performance enhancements and the latest drivers.

EN→DESo, Lenovo has done a good job in the main department – security. The ThinkBook 15 Gen 4 features a firmware TPM 2.0, as well as a privacy shutter, and a fingerprint reader. The Kensington Nano slot, on the other hand, will help you protect your device from theft. The build quality is also okay, but the base is a bit bendy. Probably because of the plastic body. Interestingly, the keyboard left us with mixed feelings. It has a backlight and it’s spill-resistant. However, the key travel is super short. This is exactly the opposite of what we’re used to seeing on ThinkPads, which is a huge argument against the ThinkBooks. At the end of the day, the ThinkPad E15 Gen 4 is a very similar product, that is better built, and in our opinion – is the better bang for the buck in the business world.

Lenovo:
Lenovo („Le“ vom englischen legend, novo (Latein) für neu) wurde 1984 als chinesische Computerhandelsfirma gegründet. Ab 2004 war die Firma der größte Laptop-Hersteller Chinas und nach der Übernahme der PC-Sparte von IBM im Jahr 2005 der viertgrößte weltweit. Neben Desktops und Notebooks stellt das Unternehmen Monitore, Beamer, Server etc her und hat sich auf die Entwicklung, Herstellung und Vermarktung von Unterhaltungselektronik, Personalcomputern, Software, Unternehmenslösungen und damit verbundenen Dienstleistungen spezialisiert.
Im Jahr 2016 belegte das Unternehmen weltweit den ersten Platz bei den Computerverkäufen. Auch 2023 hatte es ihn noch inne bei ca 23% Weltmarktanteil. Wichtige Produktreihen sind Thinkpad, Legion und Ideapad.
2011 wurde die Mehrheit der Medion AG übernommen, einem europäischen Computer-Hardware-Hersteller. 2014 wurde Motorola Mobility gekauft, wodurch Lenovo einen Schub am Smartphone-Markt erreichte.
Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.
AMD Radeon 620: Grafikkarte der Einstiegsklasse mit 320 bzw 384 Shadern und 4 GB DDR3 oder GDDR5 mit einem 64 Bit Speicherbus. Dadurch (ne nach Variante) vergleichbar mit der Radeon R7 M445 / M440 / M340 / M255 (28nm GCN)
Intel UHD Graphics 620: Integrierte Grafikkarte (GT2-Ausbau, 24 EUs), welche in einigen Kaby-Lake-CPUs (Refresh, ULV-Modelle, 15 Watt TDP) verbaut wird. Technisch identisch zur HD Graphics 620 in den Kaby-Lake Modellen aus 2016.
Intel Iris Plus Graphics G4 (Ice Lake 48 EU): Integrierte Grafikkarte (in Ice-Lake G4 SoCs) der Gen. 11 Architektur mit 48 der 64 EUs (Shader-Cluster). Taktet mit 300 MHz Basistakt und 1050 bzw. 1100 MHz Boost (erste Modelle). Der Ice-Lake-Chip wird im modernen 10nm Verfahren bei Intel gefertigt und soll mit 7nm bei TSMC mithalten können.
Intel Iris Xe G7 80EUs: Integrierte Grafikkarte (in Tiger-Lake G4 SoCs) der Gen. 12 Architektur mit 80 EUs. Z.B. in Tiger Lake i5 CPUs verbaute iGPU.

Kann auf 9 und 12 Watt konfiguriert werden.
i5-1035G4: Auf der Ice-Lake-Architektur basierender ULV-SoC (System-on-a-Chip) für schlanke Notebooks und Ultrabooks. Integriert unter anderem vier CPU-Kerne der Sunnycove Microarchitektur mit 1,1 (Basis) - 3,7 GHz und HyperThreading sowie eine starke Iris Plus G4 Grafikeinheit und wird in 10-Nanometer-Technik gefertigt.
Intel Comet Lake:
i5-10210U: Auf der Comet Lake-Architektur basierender ULV-SoC (System-on-a-Chip) für schlanke Notebooks und Ultrabooks. Integriert unter anderem vier CPU-Kerne mit 1,6 - 4,2 GHz (3,9 GHz für alle 4 Kerne) und HyperThreading sowie eine Grafikeinheit und wird in 14-Nanometer-Technik (14nm++) gefertigt. Unterstützt bis zu LPDDR3-2133/DDR4-2666 Dual-Channel Hauptspeicher. Per cTDP up/down kann der Stromverbrauch und die Leistung vom Notebookhersteller von 10 auf 25 Watt eingestellt werden. Die CPU unterstützt kein vPro. Bietet im Vergleich zum höher getakteten i5-1051U auch nur 6 statt 8 MB L3 Cache.
Intel Tiger Lake:
i5-1135G7: Auf der Tiger-Lake-Architektur basierender ULV-SoC (System-on-a-Chip) für schlanke Notebooks und Ultrabooks. Integriert unter anderem vier CPU-Kerne mit 2,4 - 4,2 GHz und HyperThreading sowie eine starke G7 Grafikeinheit mit 80 Eus und wird in 10-Nanometer-Technik gefertigt (10nm+).
i7-1165G7: Auf der Tiger-Lake-Architektur basierender ULV-SoC (System-on-a-Chip) für schlanke Notebooks und Ultrabooks. Integriert unter anderem vier CPU-Kerne mit 2,8 - 4,7 GHz und HyperThreading sowie eine starke Iris Xe G7 Grafikeinheit und wird in 10-Nanometer-Technik gefertigt (10nm+).
AMD Cezanne (Zen 3, Ryzen 5000):
R5 5625U: Mobile APU mit sechs Zen 3 basierten Kernen welche mit 2,3 bis 4,3 GHz takten. Integriert eine Vega Grafikkarte mit 7 CUs und maximal 1800 MHz.
AMD Lucienne (Zen 2, Ryzen 5000):
R7 5700U: Mobile APU mit acht Zen 2 basierten Kernen welche mit 1,8 bis 4,3 GHz takten. Integriert eine Vega Grafikkarte mit 8 CUs und maximal 1900 MHz. Im Vergleich zum Topmodell, dem R7 5800U, basiert der Prozessor noch auf die Alte Zen 2 und nicht Zen 3 und bietet nur den halben L3-Cache und um 100 MHz geringere Taktraten.
R5 5500U: Mobile APU mit sechs Zen 2 basierten Kernen welche mit 2,1bis 4 GHz takten. Integriert eine Vega Grafikkarte mit 7 CUs und maximal 1800 MHz. Im Vergleich zum schnelleren R5 5600U, basiert der Prozessor noch auf die alte Zen 2 und nicht Zen 3 und bietet weniger L3-Cache und um 100 MHz geringere Taktraten.
Intel Alder Lake-M:
i5-1235U: Auf der Alder-Lake-Architektur basierender High-End Mobilprozessor. Bietet 2 Performance-Kerne und 8 Effizienzkerne und kann 12 Threads gleichzeitig bearbeiten. Der maximale Turbo-Takt der P-Kerne beträgt 4,4 GHz.
