Das Gigabyte P37X rühmt sich der dünnste und leichteste 17,3-Zoll-Gaming-Laptop zum Zeitpunkt der Artikelerstellung zu sein. Das Design ist trotz "Gaming-Label" einfach und sauber gehalten. Das gesamte Chassis ist mattschwarz. Auf den ersten Blick sieht das Gigabyte P37X mehr wie eine alltägliche Workstation aus und obwohl es diesen Zweck erfüllen könnte, richtet es sich an Hardcore-Gamer. Das Windows-8.1-Gerät verfügt über einen Intel Core i7-4720HQ Quad-Core-Prozessor der vierten Generation mit eine Taktrate von 2,6 GHz, maximal 16 GB DDR3L 1600Hz RAM, eine leistungsstarke NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M GPU mit 8 GB GDDR5 VRAM und verschiedene Speicheroptionen einschließlich Kombinationen von HDDs und SSDs. Beim Bildschirm handelt es sich um ein 17,3 Zoll großes Full-HD-IPS-LCD-Panel mit guten Farben und Helligkeit. An Bord befindet sich eine Tastatur in voller Größe mit Hintergrundlicht, individuellen Makrotasten und ein komfortables Touchpad. Sure enough, this is one of the most portable machines to feature a GTX 980M graphics card. Auf diesen Grafikkarten laufen die neuesten und anspruchsvollen Games in hohen Auflösungen und maximalen Details mit eingeschaltetem Anti-Aliasing. It furthermore lacks a customizable LED lighting system, as is offered on some competing gaming notebooks from Asus and Alienware. The keyboard is another area where the P57W could use improvement. There’s just not enough feel, though it does have a good layout, and is comfortable for long typing sessions. Last on our list of complains is the display’s lack of Nvidia G-Sync support, which is starting to become a more popular feature on gaming notebooks.
