Wer ein Notebook mit edlem und vor allem etwas außergewöhnlichem Design sucht, der ist beim Asus VX-1 genau richtig. Nicht umsonst prangt auf dem Deckel des im schwarzen Hochglanz-Look gehaltenen Notebooks das Logo der Nobelautoschmiede Lamborghini. Natürlich könnte man das Notebook auch im typischen Gelb haben, für Notebooks ist Schwarz doch etwas eleganter.

Das Lamborghini VX1 von Asus ist ein ausgesprochen schickes, leistungsstarkes Notebook für den Nutzer mit Kleingeld.

Ein Hingucker ist das quietschgelbe Asus VX1 allemal – da trifft es sich gut, dass man es als leichten, leisen und ausdauernden Mobilrechner auch problemlos mitnehmen kann. Ideal also für den optisch mutigen Geschäftsmann, der sich beim Laptop vom klassischen Business-Look in Silber oder Schwarz unterscheiden will. Tastatur und Display des Asus VX1 gehören allerdings nicht in die Luxusklasse.

Nicht nur das Design, auch die Geschwindigkeit des VX1 ist sportlich. Der Preis geht angesichts der Ausstattung in Ordnung - wenn man kein externes Display ansteuern möchte. Asus und Lamborghini nennen sich gemeinsam als Hersteller des Notebooks VX1. Der Beitrag von Lamborghini dürfte aber nicht über das Design hinausgehen. Immerhin erinnert nicht nur das nach Wahl Schwarz oder Gelb lackierte Notebook an die Sportwagen des italienischen Herstellers, auch eine Neoprenhülle und eine Tragetasche tragen das Logo. Beide gehören zum Lieferumfang.

Was hat ein Edel-Notebook mit einem sündhaft teuren Sportwagen gemeinsam? Mehr als man annehmen sollte, zumindest bei diesem ganz speziellen Schönling - dem VX1 von Asus. Als "Lamborghini-Laptop" sorgte es bereits lange vor dem offiziellen Verkaufsstart für Furore. Einem echten Lamborghini wird das Asus VX1 nur bedingt gerecht, denn es ist weder ein Schluckspecht noch wirkt es besonders bullig. Da passen das atemberaubende Design sowie das geringe Leistungsgewicht doch schon viel besser zum italienischen Edel-Sportler. Schade finden wir allerdings, dass an Display und Grafikkarte gespart wurde. Für den hohen Kaufpreis entschädigt das Wissen, eines der weltweit schönsten Notebooks in den Händen zu halten.

As much as I liked the ASUS Lamborghini, I was having mixed emotions with it. On one hand, it certainly looks pretty, has plenty of power and comes with some great limited edition accessories. Not to mention, you get a feeling of total exclusivity with Lamborghini’s sport scar namesake alone. However, the high price of entry for an otherwise, above-average laptop just doesn’t justify the purchase. You can find comparatively equipped laptops out there for almost half the cost of the ASUS – some even offer more features and expandability options too. Not to mention, the lack of a widescreen display certainly hurts when one has to consider a laptop costing over two grand.

And the sports-car resemblance doesn't end with appearance--the Lamborghini VX1 raced through our performance benchmarks, keeping up with laptops that incorporated higher-end components. Unfortunately, like an actual Lamborghini, the $2,799 VX1 costs quite a bit more than its competitors, including the similarly car-themed Acer Ferrari 5000 ($2,399). Laptops with no special cosmetic treatment, such as the Dell Inspiron E1505, cost even less. But if you're dead set on paying the premium for a laptop with sports-car styling, you won't get burned by the VX1.

To call the Lamborghini VX1 "expensive" would be a massive understatement – "astronomical" would better describe the premium price tag mounted on this laptop. One cannot help but expect pure perfection from such a fine machine after paying so much. Alas, Asus’ car-laptop hybrid lacks additional features found in other laptops (which are ironically cheaper) like hard drive protection, spill-proof keyboards or a one-key data backup support. On the upside, the VX1 shows excellent potential for meeting the computing needs of heavy computer users that multi-task with numerous applications. Another plus point goes to the fantastic LCD display for watching movies and the device’s excellent internal speakers.

The Asus-Lamborghini is an excellent laptop that is extremely well engineered from a design perspective. It’s very sturdy and ridgid ensuring it can withstand the rigours of daily use. The VX1’s sharp looks and high grade paint makes the laptop truly a work of art and I think it’s worthy to bear the Lamborghini badge. The VX1 comes with a unique set of accessories including Lamborghini branded laptop case and sleeve, bluetooth mouse, and leather mouse pad. There is even a Lamborghini heritage booklet which makes you feel like you’re buying a piece of automotive history. However, the great design, desk appeal, and accessories come with a hefty price tag. The older 5E003P and 5E004P models retail for $2800 USD with a Core Duo T2500, so you can expect the 5E009P model (like the one we reviewed here today) with the Core 2 Duo T7400 to be priced higher initially.

Those thinking of buying the Asus Lamborghini VX1, get one thing straight: Like the cars that share its name, it’s not for those wishing to be inconspicuous. From its bright-yellow paint job to the suede-trimmed black carrying case included in the package, everything shouts “look at me.” And like the Lamborghini cars, the $2,799 VX1 has the performance to defend its status-symbol stance. If you had that classic poster of a Lamborghini Countach in your bedroom as a teenager in the early 1980s, you’ll lust over the VX1. The yellow-and-black machine is certainly a sight to behold, with an angular lid reminiscent of the airfoil on the deck lid of an exotic sports car, complete with the Lamborghini logo. The affair between luxury cars and powerful laptops began with the partnership between Acer and Enzo Ferrari that produced the Acer Ferrari 4000. Itronix, another laptop maker, made a modest attempt at emulating GM's Hummer SUV with its Hummer Laptop IX600. This year, ASUS revs its engines by introducing the ASUS VX1 Lamborghini ($2,799 list). This new partnership with Ferruccio Lamborghini adds another car emblem to a growing number of automotive-inspired mainstream laptops. One of my hands-down favorite luxury cars is a yellow Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, so it was only fitting that ASUS would send me a VX1 with a bright yellow top (it's available in solid black, too). The laptop's lid slants downward toward the front bezel just like the hood of a real sports car.

Asus Lamborghini VX2 ist zweifelsohne ein Notebook für anspruchsvolle Nutzer. An Design und Ausstattung wurde nicht gespart und das wirkt sich natürlich auf den Preis aus. Sollten man viel unterwegs sein, könnten starke Schultern von Nutzen sein, denn das Notebook wiegt ganze 3,2 Kilogramm, für einen 15-Zöller also recht ordentlich. Mit 4,6 Zentimetern ist der Lamborghini unter den Notebooks auch  etwas dick geraten, passt aber problemlos in eine Standard-Notebooktasche. Das Powerpaket eignet sich hervorragend für Business-Anwendungen und ist dank der exzellent ausgestatteten  Dockingstation im Büro schnell an die Peripheriegeräte angeschlossen.

Wenn man ein Notebook haben möchte, was sich von allen anderen abhebt dann ist man mit dem VX2S an der richtigen Adresse. Es ist nicht nur von außen schön, sondern es bietet auch viel Kraft, gutes Zubehör und gute Bildqualität. Mit 3,1 kg wiegt es sehr viel und es ist doch Schade wenn es nur auf dem Schreibtisch steht. Man kauft sich auch kein Lamborghini und lässt ihn dann nur in der Garage stehen. Wer aber das nötige Kleingeld von 3199 EUR hat und ein schickes Notebook mit guter Ausstattung haben möchte macht mit dem Lamborghini für den Schreibtisch nichts falsch und daher bekommt es von uns den MTN – Special Nomination Award.

Alas, you pay a hefty premium for all the luxury parts and carefully crafted design elements of the ASUS-Lamborghini VX2S. Even Apple, known for luxurious price tags, sells its MacBook Pro 15-inch for under $2,000. For race-car enthusiasts, price is probably not an object when it comes to the VX2S. Its superior design and high-end performance parts are worthy of the Lamborghini name. It takes a collective effort from engineers to design something as sexy and as fast as the Asus Lamborghini VX2S.

Ein extrem schickes und luxuriöses Subnotebook von Asus und Lamborghini mit guter Hardwareausstatung und einem gehobenen Einkaufspreis. Das Asus Lamborghini VX3 Subnotebook ist ein sehr schickes Subnotebook mit Leder und schönen Verzierungen. Die Hardware bietet eine gute Leistung in Verbindung mit einem 64bit Betriebssystem. Durch das späte Erscheinen auf dem deutschen Markt ist die Plattform auf der das Subnotebook basiert nicht mehr aktuell. So bekommt man seit mehreren Monaten Subnotebooks mit gleicher oder höherer Leistung, die weniger Strom verbrauchen und dadurch eine höhere Akkulaufzeit bieten. Trotzdem bietet es gute Leistung und einen Lieferumfang den man bei anderen Produkten vermisst. Genau wie die Sportwagen aus Italien, hat auch das Lamborghini VX3 einen stolzen Preis von 2799 EUR.

Hervorragende Leistung und gutes, sehr helles Display. Das haben noch so manch andere Subnotebooks im Test bewiesen. Von den Massen an Zubehör und dem Luxusdesign lassen wir uns nicht weiter beeindrucken. Der hohe Leistungstank entleert sich bei einer Akkulaufzeit von zusammen 129 Minuten leider zu schnell.

Around a year and a half ago we looked at the Asus Lambourghini VX2 and we were pretty enamoured with it. For a start, it gave us some actual justification for the usual TR habit of populating our reviews with more car analogies than a Bugatti Veyron has horsepower. Moreover, while the styling didn't really pay homage to the Lambo's namesake, it was still distinctive enough to persuade us it would appeal to supercar aficionados. Yes the VX3 is pricey, even overpriced, but what does that matter? It's a Lambourghini for goodness sake! There's nothing out there you can buy that's quite the same. (But I'll still have a Porsche 911 GT3 RS instead thanks - ed.)

This laptop is better than the previous 12-inch ION-powered ASUS netbook in two respects - a dual-core Atom processor and the USB 3.0 ports. Otherwise, it is more or less the same in terms of functionality. The VX6 falls in a weird category. It is far too expensive to be called a netbook. If your objective is to watch hi-def movies and have moderately powerful internals under the hood, then 40 grand can also fetch you the 13-inch variant of the Acer Timeline X 4820T we tested; if you're willing to let go of the car-branding. From an individual stand-point, the VX6 left me a little dissatisfied on a few counts like the battery life and lacking Optimus tech (which could've improved the battery life). If you insist on buying a 12-inch netbook, then the 1201NL worth Rs. 27,000 will do almost everything the VX6 can, except for the USB 3.0 high-speed data transfers.

If your objective is to watch hi-def movies and have moderately powerful internals under the hood, then 40 grand can also fetch you the 13-inch variant of the Acer Timeline X 4820T we tested; if you're willing to let go of the car-branding. From an individual stand-point, the VX6 left me a little dissatisfied on a few counts like the battery life and lacking Optimus tech (which could've improved the battery life). If you insist on buying a 12-inch netbook, then the 1201NL worth Rs. 27,000 will do almost everything the VX6 can, except for the USB 3.0 high-speed data transfers.

With ultra-low power laptops approaching netbook levels of battery life (and in some cases surpassing it) and with tablets usurping the netbook's traditional role as companion device, netbooks need to do something different to stand out. Despite the styling and the Lamborghini branding, the VX6 remains an Eee in wolf's clothing. You're paying a premium price for something that could be bought a lot cheaper elsewhere, and no matter how fancy the looks, the fact that this is a 32-bit Atom with only 2GB of RAM and no GPU shows as soon as you try to run any demanding applications. Sadly then, the NV6 doesn't even reach go-cart levels, despite its sports car looks - instead it's just a die-cast children's' toy sat in the window of the show room.

Asus: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. ist ein großer taiwanesischer Hersteller von Computer-Hardware mit Sitz in Taipeh, gegründet 1989. Unter dem Markennamen Asus fertigt das Unternehmen eine breite Palette von Produkten, darunter Laptops, Desktops, Motherboards, Grafikkarten, Monitore, Smartphones und Netzwerkgeräte, Komplettsysteme und PC-Bauteile für Endkunden.

Unter dem Markennamen ROG (Republic of Gamers) stellt ASUS Gaming-Laptops her, die bei Spielern für ihre leistungsstarken Spezifikationen, dedizierten Grafikkarten, Displays mit hoher Bildwiederholrate und fortschrittlichen Kühlsystemen bekannt sind.

Über das Gaming hinaus werden eine breite Palette von Notebooks für unterschiedliche Anforderungen und Budgets geboten: von ultraschlanken und leichten Ultrabooks bis hin zu vielseitigen 2-in-1-Convertibles und budgetfreundlichen Optionen. 2023 hatte Asus einen Weltmarktanteil von 7% am PC-Markts.

Die Kundenzufriedenheit mit ASUS-Notebooks betrifft Leistung, die Funktionen und das gute Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis der ASUS-Notebooks. Wie bei jeder Marke gibt es jedoch gelegentlich Berichte über Probleme wie Überhitzung, Treiberkompatibilität oder Probleme mit der Verarbeitungsqualität.

Diese Karten können nur sehr alte und sehr anspruchslose 3D Spiele flüssig darstellen.  Anwendungen wie Office, Internet surfen, Bildbearbeitung oder (SD) Videoschnitt sind jedoch ohne große Einschränkungen möglich.

NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400: Untere Mittelklasse Grafikkarte von NVIDIA, die jedoch langsamer ist als die Konkurrenzkarte X1400 von ATI. Die Karte ist durch den 64 Bit (bzw. sogar teilweise nur 32 Bit) breiten Speicherbus nur für anspruchslose Spiele geeignet.

NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT: DirectX 10 Mittelklasse Grafikkarte für Notebooks mit ausreichend Performance für aktuelle Spiele und H.264 Beschleunigung. Dank doppelt so vieler Stream Prozessoren als die GS Version etwas schneller bei Spielen.

NVIDIA GeForce 9300M G: Überarbeiteter 8400M GS Chip, der weiterhin in 65nm gefertigt wird und durch kleinere Optimierungen eine etwas bessere Performance zeigt.

NVIDIA ION 2: Der Nvidia ION 2 ist ein per PCIe 2 1x angebundener GT218 Chip für Pinetrail Atoms (D510, D410 und N450) mit Codenamen GT218-ION-A3 und GT218-ILV-A3. Im Vergleich zum ION 1, ist der ION 2 kein Chipsatz mehr, sondern ein auf G305M / G310M basierender Grafikchip mit eigenem Speicher. Je nach Version (Netbook 10", Netbook 12", Desktop) sind 8 oder 16 Kerne freigeschalten und auch die Taktrate varieert zwischen 405-535 MHz.

Einige nicht anspruchsvolle aktuelle Spiele können mit geringen Details noch flüssig gespielt werden. Für Office und Video natürlich ausreichende Leistungsreserven.

NVIDIA GeForce GT 130M: Die GeForce GT130M ist eine höhergetaktete 9650M GT welche jedoch einen etwas geringeren Stromverbrauch aufweist (dank 55nm). Je nach verbautem Speicher unterstützt unterstützt sie einen Takt von bis zu 600 MHz (DDR2) oder 1066 MHz (DDR3) und ist dadurch auch unterschiedlich schnell. PhysX wird nur in SLI Notebooks unterstützt.

Intel Core Duo: Doppelkernprozessor mit einem sehr guten Leistungs- zu Stromverbrauchsverhältnis. Die maximale Leistungsaufnahme von 31 Watt ist nur 4 Watt mehr als beim Pentium M (Vorgänger). Beide Kerne werden automatisch und unabhängig von einander per Speedstep bis auf 1 GHz abgesenkt. Außerdem unterstützt er nun auch SSE3 Befehle.

Nach ersten Benchmarks absolviert der Core Duo alle Tests mindestens genauso schnell wie ein gleichgetakteter Pentium M. Bei Anwendungen die für Multiprozessoren geplant wurden, kann die Performance fast doppelt so schnell ausfallen als beim Pentium M (z.B. CineBench um 86% schneller)

Intel Core 2 Duo: Core Duo Nachfolger mit längerer Pipeline und 5-20% Geschwindigkeitszuwachs bei 0.5 - 3 Watt mehr Stromverbrauch.

Der Notebook Core 2 Duo ist baugleich mit den Desktop Core 2 Duo Prozessoren, jedoch werden die Notebook-Prozessoren mit niedrigeren Spannungen und geringerem Frontsidebus Takt betrieben. Von der Leistung bleiben gleichgetaktete Notebooks deswegen (und auch wegen der langsameren Festplatten) 20-25% hinter Desktop PCs.

T7500: Der T7500 war ein schneller Core 2 Duo der Merom Serie mit 4 MB Level 2 Cache. Später war er in der Mittelklasse bei Core 2 Duo P7570 eingelistet.

T9300:

Intel Core 2 Quad: Mobile Version des Desktop Quad Core Prozessors. Bei geringen Taktraten nur für wenige Anwendungen empfehlenswert.

Q9000: Relativ gering getakteter Quad Core Prozessor (4 Kerne) welcher gerade bei älteren Spielen durch die 2.0 GHz eine schlechte Performance zeigt. Für Spieler nicht empfehlenswert (besser ein gleich teurer schneller getakteter Core 2 Duo).

Intel Atom: Die Intel Atom Serie besteht aus 64-Bit Mikroprozessoren für günstige und stromsparende Notebooks, MIDs oder UMPC. Besonderheit der Architektur, ist das die Befehle nicht wie derzeit üblich (z. B. Intel Core Architekture oder AMD Turion) "out of Order"  sondern  "in  Order"  ausgeführt  werden. Dadurch verliert man zwar einiges an Performance, jedoch spart dies Transistoren und daher Kosten und dadurch auch etwas Strom.

D525: Für Nettops gedachter Doppelkern Atom, welcher jedoch auch in Netbooks eingesetzt wird. Besitzt einen integrierten DDR2/DDR3 Speicherkontroller und die integriete GMA 3150 Grafikkarte. Aufgrund des fehlenden Speedsteps, taktet die CPU immer mit 1.8 GHz und ist dadurch nicht sehr stromsparend (ohne Last).
