The Xiaomi Redmi K50i smartphone can be considered a good option if you are looking for better performance and gaming. Plus, it won’t disappoint you when it comes to battery life, and screen. Everything about this phone feels superb but at the same time, you can overlook the flaws of this phone either. However, it’s a decent deal for heavy users for sure. On the other hand, if you are looking for all-rounder specs and appealing features, you should check out the Samsung Galaxy A33 smartphone. It’s a brilliant alternative that brings decent performance and camera support. Ultimately, the final decision is in your hands, so choose wisely according to your needs.

So, after using the Redmi K50i for the time period of this review, for the most part, I am really satisfied with it. The K50i is undoubtedly a treat for gamers looking for a reliable performer under Rs. 30,000. But, even if you choose it as your everyday smartphone, I am certain that it will satisfy you with its overall performance. I find most reviewers complaining about the lack of AMOLED display, but I didn’t find it a deal-breaker by any means; especially considering that it’s such a nice display. Plus, despite being a performance-centric smartphone, the K50i’s primary camera can click decent photos. So I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable smartphone for everyday use. Despite being an excellent gaming smartphone, the Redmi K50i, or say the Poco X4 GT, is yet to be released in Nepal. Xiaomi recently launched the 12 Lite in Nepal as the country’s $300 import ban nears its end. As a result, the company might also be planning to launch the Redmi K50i here (we hope so). When Xiaomi brings it to Nepal, we hope the price remains as competitive as the Indian market.

It might be a little plain in design terms, and its cameras could have been better, but in all other regards, it pretty much batters the competition in its price segment. This is pretty much the most affordable device with a flagship-level performance in the market. You are simply unlikely to get a phone that does so much for under Rs 30,000. The last time we felt something like that was four years ago while reviewing the Poco F1. The packaging and the About Phone section in Settings might read “Redmi K50i,” but if the soul of the phone had a label, it would probably say “Poco F2 – Indian Edition (Finally)” in bold.

Redmi K50i comes as a successor of the Redmi K20i also known as ‘Alpha Flagship’. Xiaomi has tried to retain that tag with Redmi K50i as well. The smartphone has a lot going on in favour of it. For instance, the performance is top-notch, the software is good and the feature set is also on par with the competition. Furthermore, the battery life is something to admire about the smartphone along with the 67W fast charging support. Then there’s a decent camera setup which offers versatility along with quality. The Redmi K50i is a capable smartphone and a good choice for those looking for solid performance, battery and camera in their next smartphone.

The Redmi K50i 5G is a massive performer, the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 offers stunning performance at this price and is paired with LPDDR5 RAM and a faster UFS 3.1 storage which is more than enough for those who are looking for pure performance under this price segment. Performance users and gamers take note – the Redmi K50i 5G has a faster CPU, GPU, a 144 Hz responsive display, and charges quite fast. On top, stereo speakers, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos add to the overall multimedia experience. Aside from this, the phone has a great camera, clicks impressive shots, supports 4k recording, a bunch of camera perks, and customizations from the latest MIUI 13 interface. The only thing we would miss is the AMOLED display with an in-screen fingerprint scanner, however, you can’t ask for everything at this price (₹25,999). The phone competes with the OnePlus 10R (₹38,999) and realme GT Neo 3 (₹36,999) which are higher in price, but offers similar performance due to the identical specifications. The Redmi K50i is overall a good value for money and great for users who demand performance out of a smartphone.

The Xiaomi Redmi K50i is an excellent mid-range smartphone for a starting price of 25,999 in India. You get a snappy 144Hz FFS LCD display, a solid MediaTek Dimensity 8100 chipset, a good battery backup with a 67W charger in the box, and more. It was really nice to see the extras, such as the headphone jack (3.5mm), IP53 rating, and IR blaster. Plus, you get Android 12 out of the box with the promise of three years of security updates. There is no denying that the Redmi K50i offers the best price-to-performance ratio, and it’s a great value for money device. If you’re looking for a performance-packed smartphone that costs less than Rs 25K, this is the best option in the market.

The Redmi K50i is a very capable smartphone that doesn’t skimp on performance and offers an efficient battery life. While it doesn’t have the marquee features of the K20 series, wherever the K50i compromises it more than makes up for it with raw performance and gaming chops.

The Redmi K50i is arguably the best phone out there if you want the absolute best performance in this price range. But the Redmi K50i isn’t competing with the big players, and it’s not without its flaws. If you’re looking for some alternatives in India, then you can look at other options including the Moto Edge 30 with a Snapdragon 778G+ 5G or the Mi 11i Hypercharge. The POCO F4 is also a great alternative to consider for ₹27,999 if you can find it in stock.

The Xiaomi Redmi K50i 5G is a well-packaged smartphone in the midrange segment, but it falls short of proving itself as a competitive alternative to peers. Its design, display, camera, and battery life are all good, but not the best. Performance, however, puts it on par with expensive smartphones and several notches above those in its segment. On top, there is 3.5mm audio jack, IR blaster, fast wired charging, and IP53 rating. These things may look small on paper, but have a big influence on the overall experience.

Xiaomi Redmi K50i was announced in July 2022 and this 5G smartphone features a 6.6 inches FFS LCD display panel with a high 144Hz refresh rate and 500-650 nits peak brightness to comfortably use the device outdoors. Besides this, you get Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the phone. For performance, the Xiaomi Redmi K50i offers the flagship 5nm MediaTek Dimensity 810 chipset integrated with Mali-G610 MC6 GPU. In terms of software, you get the latest Android 12 OS with MIUI 13 user-interface customization. For internals, the device is available in 6GB / 8GB RAM and 128GB / 256GB internal storage options, while you don’t get SD card support. Furthermore, the phone equips a triple-rear camera with a 64MP main, 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro lens. On the front, you get a decent 16MP selfie lens that can record 1080p videos at 60fps, whereas the triple-rear setup can record 4K videos at 30fps without stabilization support. The phone is powered by a massive Li-Po 5080 mAh battery with 67W fast charging. You get the device in three colors- Phantom Blue, Stealth Black, and Quick Silver.

I would have preferred a 120Hz AMOLED over a 144Hz LCD, mainly for a brighter, more vibrant display. That being said, the FFS LCD tries to make up for the downsides with its good viewing angles and a fairly good indoor viewing experience. Ironically, this is where the Redmi K20 Pro excelled with its all-screen, no-notch AMOLED display that offered a truly immersive experience. There is also a polycarbonate back, but for those who prefer functionality over form, it might not be as big a deal. But in 2022, things are quite different. Phones, in general, have become more expensive. Companies are also launching devices in the sub-Rs 30,000 segment with more-or-less the same specs. The Redmi K50i switches gears and takes itself a notch higher with a performance unit that we see in some of the best smartphones under Rs 40,000 in India. I would not be surprised if the competition (looking at you, iQOO and Realme) plans to play catchup by launching phones that match the Redmi K50i’s price-to-performance ratio. All in all, Redmi’s K-series marks a solid comeback with the K50i to offer a great, value-for-money experience.

Redmi K50i marks the comeback of Xiaomi’s K series. Launched in 2019, Xiaomi K20 and Xiaomi K20 Pro were the company’s first phones with pop-up camera. Dubbed ‘Alpha Flagsahip’, the phones boasted of some impressive features. Redmi K50i aims to carry the same legacy. We spent some time with the phone, here are our initial impressions of the all-new Redmi K50i..

Redmi K50i has many expectations, and it will be compared to the Redmi K20 Pro. The truth is that it might not come close. But this is not to say it is a terrible phone. The performance is very good, especially compared to other options, there’s fast charging, the headphone jack for those who prefer this, and the display and battery are adequate. But the camera leaves you wanting. The design does not stand out either. Still, since Xiaomi has priced this at Rs 25,999, it might have an edge over some rivals given the price. If you want a more gaming-oriented device or just a phone that performs smoothly but don’t want to pay Rs 30,000 or more, then this is one of the options to consider. But if you can pay more, Xiaomi’s own 11i Hypercharge or even the Poco F4 might be better more well-rounded picks.

The Redmi K20 Pro oozed class and offered excellent performance along with a reliable set of cameras at the time of its launch. That said, the Redmi K50i is seemingly content with maintaining a low profile. To wit, the handset’s style choices will not attract as many eyeballs and while the phone ships with a capable LCD display, you will get a better viewing experience from competing devices that ship with an AMOLED panel. The POCO F4, for instance, offers a fantastic AMOLED panel which is compliant with Dolby Vision HDR codec as well. That being said, the handset leaves no stone unturned in the performance department and is by far, the fastest phone to retail for around the Rs 25K mark. With early bird offers, the K50i can be obtained for as low as Rs 20,999, which I think is an unbelievably good deal. Rest assured, the K50i checks enough boxes to get a recommendation from me.

The display of the K50i is 6.6 inches diagonally and has a full-HD+ resolution plus a 144Hz refresh rate. Dolby Vision and HDR10 support are noteworthy features, and we'll try various streaming apps and types of content in our full review. Brightness goes up to 650nits. The 16-megapixel front camera is centred at the top of the screen. On the back, you'll get a 64-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. Photo and video quality will be part of our review process, but here are some early samples that we can share with you. The Redmi K50i should appeal to a niche audience. If you care about raw power and gaming performance, you should stay tuned for our full review. We'll also see how well this phone does in terms of battery life, software, usability and of course cameras, compared to others that cost around the same amount.

The Xiaomi Redmi K50 Ultra (Extreme Edition) is a pretty good phone with ample hardware and software configuration. Besides this, it’s worth noting that the phone holds an impressive camera and display features with a long-lasting battery life that makes this device an amazing deal. But sadly, it’s not confirmed that the smartphone markers will release this smartphone in other countries. Even if they do, they will just straight up rebrand this phone for other smartphone markets. Anyway, if you are looking for a global version, we highly recommend checking out the Xiaomi Redmi 11T Pro. Although you won’t get the powerful chipset, everything about this phone is almost similar to the K50 Ultra. However, it’s your money so we suggest you check out a few more phones under the $500 budget to make the final deal.

All in all, the original 1.5K screen of the Redmi K50 Extreme Edition shows Redmi’s pursuit of hardware exploration and opens up new ideas. The much-anticipated screen fingerprint makes people see Redmi’s sincerity towards fans. In terms of imaging, the first new CMOS + OIS optical image stabilization is at the top level in the Redmi series, and the blessing of Snapdragon 8+ makes the game performance of the Redmi K50 Extreme Edition more in place. Whether you are a gaming party or a photo enthusiast, especially if you are particularly concerned about the screen, the Redmi K50 Extreme Edition will be a flagship phone not to be missed.
