Sony Vaio Luxus-Businessklasse, die VPC-SE Serie ist Sonys jüngste Erweiterung der dünnen und leichten S-Produktlinie, die im 4. Quartal 2011 vorgestellt wurde. Dank geringem Gewicht, mattem FullHD IPS Bildschirm, Fingerabdruckleser, TPM Chip, UMTS, Akku-Slice und Docking Port, könnte dieses Notebook für Geschäftsreisende attraktiv sein. Durchschnittskunden sollten diesen Laptop aufgrund seiner eigenständigen Mittelklasse-GPU, überdurchschnittlicher Helligkeit und Konstrast, weiten Blickwinkeln, Blu-Ray Leser und günstigen Preis ebenso mögen. Er ist auch eine gute Wahl für Durchschnittsendverbraucher. Office-Nutzer, die viel mit Tabellenkalkulationen arbeiten, werden die Übersicht am Bildschirm, die beleuchtete Tastatur in voller Größe mit Nummernblock und gutem Feedback schätzen.
Wie alle anderen Laptops weist auch das Sony VPC-SE Schwächen auf. Lautes Betriebsgeräusch, hohe Abwärme aufgrund schlechter Lage der Kühlkörper, kurze Akkulaufzeit ohne optionalem Akku-Slice und vor allem die ungenaue Farbdarstellung des IPS Bildschirms, verhindern ein "Sehr Gut" in unserem ausführlichen Test.
Dieser Universalist von Sony könnte Geschäftsreisende genauso ansprechen wie Multimedia-Nuzter, die gelegentlich spielen, und Office-Nutzer. Sollte Sony die größte Schwäche, nämlich die Farbdarstellung und die Kühlkörper im nächsten Refresh, nachbessern, könnte die VPC-SE Serie andere 15-Zoll Laptops wie das Macbook Pro in Anbetracht deren Preis übertrumpfen.
