Lenovo liefert mit dem Thinkpad-X60t einen leistungsstarken und robusten Tablet-PC. Größere Defizite gibt es nicht. Die Akkulaufzeit liegt selbst mit dem 4-Zellen Standard Akku (2000 mAh) bei brauchbaren 86 Minuten (unter Last). Hier geben wir zu bedenken, dass eine 1,83 GHz Dual-Core-CPU im Gerät werkelt. Da der Standard-Akku keine großen Laufzeiten mit sich bringt und dazu noch das Gewicht vergleichweise hoch ausfällt, ist bei Mobilität nur ein Stern drin. Den geringen Stromverbrauch konnten die Notebookjournal-Tester auch beim Netzbetrieb beobachten. Höchstens 13 Watt zog das Thinkpad-X60-Tablet aus der Dose.

Lenovo's previous tablet effort, the X41 Tablet PC, received a barrage of criticism for being £600 more expensive than its non-tablet sibling. Sadly, it's the same here - the touchscreen, 512MB more RAM and 20GB more hard disk space add £400 to the price. There's a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel: one SKU of the X60 Tablet (part code: UU2K7UK) has a significantly smaller battery, but otherwise an identical specification, and costs a far more reasonable £1,149 (£1,350 inc VAT) from www.pcwb.com. Well built and with astonishing battery life to boot. But this particular SKU isn't great value for money.

These enhancements were enough to sustain the X60 Tablet's reputation as an excellent tablet with enough power for demanding business use. It's still expensive--our review unit cost $2,467, and that still doesn't include even an external optical drive--but the ThinkPad X60 Tablet remains one of our favorite convertibles for highly mobile business users.

The engineers at Lenovo really put their thinking caps on for the past year in developing the new X60 Tablet PC, the focus was certainly on usability and how to improve the tablet experience. I think they hit a homerun. The XGA MultiTouch display and SXGA+ offering are outstanding options, the MultiView is also really nice for a tablet pc where you'll be using it in all types of lighting environments and holding it at various angles. The port selection for an ultraportable is superb. The keyboard is as good as ever. The build is ThinkPad solid, there's no flex anywhere on the body. The battery life is as good as it can be. And best of all the performance with the Core Duo and 2.5" 7200RPM hard drive is vastly improved over the X41t. Pricing starts at around $1,700 initially on the X60t, this will be pricey for some, but for business users this could be a formidable tool and if you're off to college for 4 years maybe you could justify the cost if you think of it as an investment in your ability to perform better in school and be more efficient.

I think they hit a homerun. The XGA MultiTouch display and SXGA+ offering are outstanding options, the MultiView is also really nice for a tablet pc where you'll be using it in all types of lighting environments and holding it at various angles. The port selection for an ultraportable is superb. The keyboard is as good as ever. The build is ThinkPad solid, there's no flex anywhere on the body. The battery life is as good as it can be. And best of all the performance with the Core Duo and 2.5" 7200RPM hard drive is vastly improved over the X41t. Pricing starts at around $1,700 initially on the X60t, this will be pricey for some, but for business users this could be a formidable tool and if you're off to college for 4 years maybe you could justify the cost if you think of it as an investment in your ability to perform better in school and be more efficient.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 950: Integrierter (onboard) Grafikchip auf Mobile Intel 945GM/C/Z/ME/ML Chipsätzen und Nachfolger des GMA 900. Kein Hardware T&L (für manche Spiele benötigt). Für Spiele kaum geeignet.
3D Spiele sind auf diesen Vertretern nur in Ausnahmen spielbar, grundsätzlich sind die Grafiklösungen hierfür jedoch nicht geeignet. Office Programme und Internet surfen dürfte jedoch ohne Problem möglich sein.

Intel Core Duo: Doppelkernprozessor mit einem sehr guten Leistungs- zu Stromverbrauchsverhältnis. Die maximale Leistungsaufnahme von 31 Watt ist nur 4 Watt mehr als beim Pentium M (Vorgänger). Beide Kerne werden automatisch und unabhängig von einander per Speedstep bis auf 1 GHz abgesenkt. Außerdem unterstützt er nun auch SSE3 Befehle.
Nach ersten Benchmarks absolviert der Core Duo alle Tests mindestens genauso schnell wie ein gleichgetakteter Pentium M. Bei Anwendungen die für Multiprozessoren geplant wurden, kann die Performance fast doppelt so schnell ausfallen als beim Pentium M (z.B. CineBench um 86% schneller)

Dieser Bereich des Displayformats bildet weitgehend die Obergrenze für Tablets und die Untergrenze für Subnotebooks.
Der Vorteil von Subnotebooks liegt darin, dass das ganze Notebook klein dimensioniert sein kann und daher leicht tragbar ist. Das winzige Display hat noch den Vorteil wenig Strom zu benötigen, was die Akkulaufzeit und damit die Mobilität weiter verbessert. Der Nachteil ist, dass das Lesen von Texten anstrengend für die Augen ist. Hohe Auflösungen, die man von einem Standard-Laptop gewohnt ist, sind fast nicht nutzbar.
