Inflation is unavoidable these days and every rupee saved can matter. Infinix has managed to cover all the basics that the average home user, student or professional could need. The InBook X1 Slim is relatively affordable and the usage experience is not compromised in terms of build quality, missing features, or weak performance. It doesn't go above or beyond the basics and it might not be as versatile as you'd like a few years down the line, but cost is a huge factor for buyers of laptops in this segment. The entry-level variant, priced at Rs. 29,990 (before offers) is just about right in terms of meeting the needs of the average user. The RAM is not upgradeable but 8GB should be enough. The middle variant, as reviewed here, is also pretty good value at Rs. 39,990. The top-end variant, priced at Rs. 49,999, will have a more niche audience. If you need some serious number-crunching power and don't much care about entertainment or looks, it strikes an interesting balance.

The Infinix INBook X1 Slim is a splendid laptop considering the price Infinix is asking. For Rs. 30000, you are getting a Windows 11 laptop that has a very nice FHD display, runs fast with its Intel Core i3 processor, has a very fast SSD storage, offers all the necessary I/O ports, and a decent set of keyboard and trackpad. Not to forget, it looks stunning too. The battery life is weak and Infinix could have stuffed a bigger battery inside, but it makes up for it with a 65W fast charger. I would also recommend you spend a bit more and get the 512GB storage variant, if you seek longevity. Honestly, why would you buy anything else at this price? Laptops from Asus, Dell, Lenovo and HP at this price offer under 4GB RAM, HDD storage, rubbish 720p, poor battery life and dull designs with soft plastic clamshells. The Infinix INBook X1 Slim is currently the best laptop for students and casual users not seeking to exceed the Rs. 35,000 mark.

Infinix has managed to hit a pretty low price point for a slim-and-light laptop with an all-metal body, backlit keyboard, and 14-inch display. There are a few convenient features such as the webcam switch and USB Type-C fast charging, but also some quirks, mainly the cheap trackpad. The main way that Infinix seems to have reduced cost is by going with previous-gen processors, and that really isn't such a bad thing considering that even older laptops are expected to work for at least 3-4 years before they are outpaced by software. This obviously isn't the right laptop for gamers or anyone who needs serious processing power for content creation or any other kind of work. However if you're a student, professional or even home user who just wants to cover the basics of productivity, entertainment and communication, you now have another worthwhile choice in the laptop market. Given that Infinix's pricing strategy is not very clear and availability seems to be limited, we will have to go by the current market price, which is Rs. 49,999 for the Core i5 variant.

Infinix has done a good job with the InBook X1. The laptop is a perfect pick if you are a student, teacher or a college-goer. It also gets the job done if you are working professional and your job doesn’t require any technical stuff. For people in writing jobs, this laptop fits the bill as it only fulfils the need, it is also extremely lightweight and convenient to carry the device around. It has a decent enough screen so you can also watch movies and web shows on the laptop for long hours. The laptop is also equipped with powerful speakers. The battery life is good as it daily lasts for more than 10 hours on a single charge. However, the laptop is not suitable for heavy gaming or technical stuff. It can only handle the basic computing task well. The keys are big, but the response is too soft, the touchpad needs a lot of pressing. Overall, it is a good laptop if your needs are basic.

For around the same price, one can opt for Acer Aspire 5, which isn’t plagued by the build quality issues like the Infinix INBook X1 and also comes with an Intel 11th Gen Core-i5 CPU with Irix XE graphics card. The Infinix INBook X1 makes sense as your backup laptop or just a simple laptop for kids or students if the build quality issues are just model specifics, and for that I’d suggest going for the entry-level Intel 10th Gen Core i3 version which is Rs 10k cheaper but comes in an identical form factor.

The new MacBook Air M2 is simply a brilliant computer by all means and if you don't have OS preferences, we recommend this one blindly. This is one of the nicest built lightweight and slim laptops you can lay your hands on, and the design still makes it unmistakably a MacBook Air. The display is good although the OLED displays on rival Windows laptops have an edge. The M2 chip is fast and capable, and coupled with macOS Monterey, this is a highly efficient computer to work on – both in terms of performance and battery life. And yes, this is a battery life champ! Even the webcam is impressive on this one. Hence, the question arises – should you buy the new 2022 Apple MacBook Air M2? If you are looking for a no-nonsense and efficient laptop with a budget of just around Rs. 1 lakh, the M2 MacBook Air is a fantastic choice. Many may recommend the M1 MacBook Air at the lower price but in reality, the improvements warrant that extra price you are paying – they are worth spending more. This M2 MacBook Air is the benchmark against which all other slim and lightweight “ultrabooks” will be judged;

The Infinix X3 Slim is probably one of the best thin and light laptops in the Rs 40,000 price range. The combination of an ultra-portable laptop and an Intel 12th-generation chip pulled off by Infinix sets the benchmark for the segment. Its 1080p anti-glare display, 75% keyboard, stacked I/O port selection and solid build quality further make it easily stand out from the competition. The addition of dual front-facing lights is another useful feature in a laptop packed with them. However, the 720p webcam and a set of average speakers do dull the experience of consuming media on an otherwise value-for-money machine. I recommend the Infinix X3 Slim as a great laptop in the Rs 40,000 price range. However, avoid the Intel Core i3-powered variant with 8GB RAM as it won’t last you long enough in 2023 and because the RAM isn’t user upgradable either.

Infinix: Infinix ist ein Smartphone-Unternehmen mit Hauptsitz in den USA, das 2013 von Transsion Holdings gegründet wurde. Infinix produziert seine Telefone in mehreren Ländern, darunter Frankreich, Indien, Indonesien, Südkorea, China, Pakistan und Ägypten.

Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.

Intel Iris Plus Graphics G7 (Ice Lake 64 EU): Integrierte Grafikkarte (in Ice-Lake G7 SoCs) der Gen. 11 Architektur mit 64 EUs (Shader-Cluster). Taktet mit 300 MHz Basistakt und 1050 bzw. 1100 MHz Boost (erste Modelle). Der Ice-Lake-Chip wird im modernen 10nm Verfahren bei Intel gefertigt und soll mit 7nm bei TSMC mithalten können.

Intel UHD Graphics G1 (Ice Lake 32 EU): Integrierte Grafikkarte (in Ice-Lake G1 SoCs) der Gen. 11 Architektur mit 32 der 64 EUs (Shader-Cluster). Intel Iris Xe G7 96EUs: Integrierte Grafikkarte (in Tiger-Lake G7 SoCs) der Gen. 12 Architektur mit 96 EUs.

Intel Iris Xe G7 80EUs: Integrierte Grafikkarte (in Tiger-Lake G4 SoCs) der Gen. 12 Architektur mit 80 EUs. Z.B. in Tiger Lake i5 CPUs verbaute iGPU.

Einige nicht anspruchsvolle aktuelle Spiele können mit geringen Details noch flüssig gespielt werden. Für Office und Video natürlich ausreichende Leistungsreserven.

Integriert unter anderem vier CPU-Kerne der Sunnycove Microarchitektur mit 1,3 (Basis) - 3,9 GHz und HyperThreading sowie eine starke Iris Plus G7 Grafikeinheit und wird in 10-Nanometer-Technik gefertigt. Durch die 18 % bessere IPC Performance von Sunnycove versus Skylake sollte die CPU Performance mit dem alten Whisky-Lake Core i7-8565U (max 4,1 GHz) mithalten können.

i5-1035G1: Auf der Ice-Lake-Architektur basierender ULV-SoC (System-on-a-Chip) für schlanke Notebooks und Ultrabooks. Integriert unter anderem vier CPU-Kerne der Sunnycove Microarchitektur mit 1 (Basis) - 3,6 GHz und HyperThreading sowie eine starke UHD Graphics G1 Grafikeinheit und wird in 10-Nanometer-Technik gefertigt. 

Intel Jasper Lake:

Celeron N5100: Sparsamer Quad-Core-SoC aus der Jasper-Lake-Serie für preiswerte Notebooks. Taktet mit 1,1 bis 2,8 GHz und integriert eine DirectX-12-fähige Grafikeinheit mit 24 Kernen und max. 800 MHz Taktrate. Im Vergleich zu der Core-Serie (z.B. Ice Lake) mit langsameren CPU Kernen ausgestattet aber im selben 10nm Prozess bei Intel gefertigt.

Intel Tiger Lake:

i7-1195G7: Auf der Tiger-Lake-Architektur basierender ULV-SoC (System-on-a-Chip) für schlanke Notebooks und Ultrabooks. Integriert unter anderem vier CPU-Kerne und HyperThreading sowie eine starke G7 Grafikeinheit und wird in 10-Nanometer-Technik gefertigt (10nm+). Je nach TDP mit einem Basistakt von 1,3 GHz (12 W) bis zu 2,9 GHz (28 W). Der Turbo kann dann Turbo Boost Max 3.0 5 GHz erreichen.

i5-1155G7: Auf der Tiger-Lake-Architektur basierender ULV-SoC (System-on-a-Chip) für schlanke Notebooks und Ultrabooks. Integriert unter anderem vier CPU-Kerne mit 1 (12W) - 2,5 GHz (28W) und bis zu 4,5 GHz Boost, HyperThreading sowie eine G7 Grafikeinheit mit 80 Kernen und wird in 10-Nanometer-Technik gefertigt (10nm SuperFin). 

Intel Alder Lake-M:

i5-1235U: Auf der Alder-Lake-Architektur basierender High-End Mobilprozessor. Bietet 2 Performance-Kerne und 8 Effizienzkerne und kann 12 Threads gleichzeitig bearbeiten. Der maximale Turbo-Takt der P-Kerne beträgt 4,4 GHz.

i7-1255U: Auf der Alder-Lake-Architektur basierender High-End Mobilprozessor. Bietet 2 Performance-Kerne und 8 Effizienzkerne und kann 12 Threads gleichzeitig bearbeiten. Der maximale Turbo-Takt der P-Kerne beträgt 4,7 GHz.

16.00: Dieser Bereich für Displayformate war und ist eine Seltenheit. Es ist größer als der allgemeine Standard von 15 Zoll, aber noch nicht im Bereich der großen Workstations. Man hat üblicherweise höhere Bildschirmauflösungen zur Verfügung, darunter leidet aber auch die Portabilität.
