900 Euro, so viel verlangt HP für sein Tablet-Convertible Envy x2. Orientiert man sich aufgrund des verbauten Atom Z2760, der kleinen SSD und dem kleinen Arbeitsspeicher an der Netbook-Tradition, erscheint der Preis geradezu irrwitzig, spielt man dort doch schon locker in der Ultrabook-Klasse mit. Damit täte man diesem flexiblen, hervorragend verarbeiteten, schicken und langlaufenden Gerät aber auch Unrecht.

For £72 more you can buy the much more powerful Lenovo IdeaPad Z580 and an iPad – or, you could wait for Microsoft’s 10.6in, Full HD, Core i5-powered Surface Pro, which is expected to be priced similarly. HP’s offering aims commendably high in terms of build quality – and in itself it makes a very agreeable platform for all-day lightweight computing – but when you weigh up your options, its capabilities are clearly far too limited to justify the price.

WIRED An incredibly well-designed Windows tablet, one of the best-looking on the market. Surprisingly good audio. Really nice screen. Keyboard and touchpad both work well. TIRED Performance is all-around lousy. Chicklet up/down arrow keys. Heavier (and $100 more expensive) than the similar Acer, but with half the battery life.

The HP Envy x2 is a product that we were excited about when it was first announced. But that excitement has largely evaporated thanks to the product's price point. See, the HP Envy x2 isn't a bad product by any means, it's just badly positioned on the price ladder. But such positives can't counter the near-£800 price and limited performance from the Atom processor. That's the long and short of it: the HP Envy x2 is a smart little hybrid, but there are cheaper and more powerful competitors out there and that's what holds this model back.

If you ignore the $850 price tag, the HP Envy X2 makes sense as a sort of cross between a Windows RT tablet and an ultrabook. It’s a thin and light laptop that also functions as a tablet with long battery life. But it’s hard to ignore that price tag. Basically if you plan to use the computer as a notebook, you’re paying 3 times the price of a netbook to get netbook-style performance.

At an MRP of Rs 59,990, the HP Envy x2 feels quite expensive for an Atom-based notebook. Even a Core i3 would have been welcome at this point. The only reason one may pick this over the similarly priced Windows RT tablets is that you can still use legacy x86 apps. It does have a very good battery life and plays 1080p video like a champ, but if that’s all you’re looking for, then you’re better off with an iPad or any Android tablet and a keyboard dock.

Das HP Envy x2, ein eleganter Hybrid-Windows 8-Laptop des PC-Riesen führt den Trend zu abtrennbaren Bildschirmen, die unterwegs auch als Tablet genutzt werden können, an. Dieser Laptop nutzt Windows 8 32-bit, womit der Nutzer ein vollwertiges Windows anstatt des hinkenden Windows RT, das man in anderen Tablets antrifft, erhält.

Die Hauptvorteile des HP Envy x2 ist, dass es x86 PC Programme ohne Problme ausführen kann, das attraktive Design und das leichte Gewicht von nur 700g. Dank IPS Bildschirm und sehr guter Akkulaufzeit eignet es sich perfekt für Alltagsanwendungen wir Web-Surfen, E-Mail und anspruchslose Anwendungen. Dank schneller SSD und Intels neuer Clover-Trail-Architektur laufen sogar HD Videos und Spiele-Apps ohne 3D ohne Verzögerung.

Die magere Leistung des Atom-Chips wird viele, die ein primäres mobiles Gerät suchen, vom Kauf abhalten, da das HP Envy x2 keine anspruchsvollen Anwendungen ausführen kann. Zu dem Premium-Preis von fast 900 Euro gibt es viele Alternativen am Markt, die von Mittelklasse-Laptops bis Tablets mit Intel Core-i5-ULV-Prozessoren reichen. Soll es jedoch unbedingt ein Laptop mit abtrennbaren Bildschirm sein und Geld ist kein Kriterium, so könnte dies die richtige Wahl sein.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) HD Graphics: Intel HD Graphics oder GMA HD genannte onboard Grafikkarte welche im Package der Core i3/i5/i7 Arrandale Dual-Core Prozessoren untergebracht wird. Je nach Prozessormodell maximal mit 500 bis 766 MHz getaktet (Turbo Boost). Von Lenovo anscheinend auch GMA5700MHD genannt. Die gleichgenannte Intel HD Graphics Prozessorgrafik in den Sandy Bridge Prozessoren basiert auf einer neueren Architektur.

Diese Karten können nur sehr alte und sehr anspruchslose 3D Spiele flüssig darstellen.  Anwendungen wie Office, Internet surfen, Bildbearbeitung oder (SD) Videoschnitt sind jedoch ohne große Einschränkungen möglich.

Intel Atom: Die Intel Atom Serie besteht aus 64-Bit Mikroprozessoren für günstige und stromsparende Notebooks, MIDs oder UMPC. Besonderheit der Architektur, ist das die Befehle nicht wie derzeit üblich (z. B. Intel Core Architekture oder AMD Turion) "out of Order"  sondern  "in  Order"  ausgeführt  werden. Dadurch verliert man zwar einiges an Performance, jedoch spart dies Transistoren und daher Kosten und dadurch auch etwas Strom.
