Schools need cheap options to outfit their students with computers, and the Dell Latitude 11 for Education (starting at $379) is a clear attempt to fill that need. It's a full PC that runs Windows 10 and includes a 250GB hard drive to store homework locally. It's tough enough to withstand bumps and drops. However, this notebook's Intel Celeron N2840 CPU and 2GB of RAM are sluggish even when nothing is running. Despite the system's great keyboard and loud speakers, it's hard to recommend this laptop to students or to teachers who want to outfit classes with tech.

Its versatile screen caters to students working on individual and collaborative school projects, while its battery will last all day and then some. We prefer its long battery life and speedy SSD when compared with less-rugged laptops like the Dell Inspiron 3179. However, if durability and battery life are less of an issue for you (and you can stretch your budget a bit), the $799 Insprion 7378 is a better value overall, as it has a faster Core i5 processor, full HD screen, and has a larger-capacity SSD, and it holds on to its Editors' Choice for midrange convertible-hybrid laptops.

Dell: Dell ist ein 1984 gegründeter US-amerikanischer Hersteller (Sitz Texas) von Computer-Hardware und gehört zu den grössten internationalen Herstellern sowohl in Bezug auf Marktanteile als auch hinsichtlich Notebook-Modellen. Die Produktpalette umfasst unter anderem Desktops, Notebooks, Speichersysteme, Monitore, Server, Drucker, Unterhaltungselektronik und Peripheriegeräte. Dell bietet Laptops an, die ich für verschiedene Einsatzbereiche eignen, z. B. Business-Laptops, Gaming-Laptops, Ultra-Portables und Workstations. Die Business-Notebooks von Dell aus den Latitude- und Precision-Serien sind eine Option für professionelle Anwender und Unternehmen.

2023 hatte Dell einen ungefähren Marktanteil von 17% am weltweiten PC-Absatz und war damit die Nummer 3 nach Lenovo und HP.

Für Gaming-Enthusiasten ist die Marke Alienware von Dell für Gaming-Notebooks vorgesehen.

Diese Karten können nur sehr alte und sehr anspruchslose 3D Spiele flüssig darstellen.  Anwendungen wie Office, Internet surfen, Bildbearbeitung oder (SD) Videoschnitt sind jedoch ohne große Einschränkungen möglich.

Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail): Grafikeinheit in den Tablet- und Notebook-SoCs der Bay-Trail-Serie. Basiert auf der Ivy-Bridge-GPU, unterstützt DirectX 11 und bietet 4 EUs.

Einige nicht anspruchsvolle aktuelle Spiele können mit geringen Details noch flüssig gespielt werden. Für Office und Video natürlich ausreichende Leistungsreserven.

Intel HD Graphics 505: Integrierte Low-End-Grafikkarte mit DirectX-12-Unterstützung, welche in einigen ULV-SoCs der Apollo-Lake-Serie zu finden ist.

Intel Pentium:

N3540: Sparsamer Quad-Core-SoC auf Basis der Atom-Architektur "Silvermont" für kompakte und preiswerte Notebooks. Die vier Prozessorkerne takten mit 2,16 - 2,66 GHz.

Pentium N4200: Sparsamer Quad-Core-SoC aus der Apollo-Lake-Serie für preiswerte Notebooks. Taktet mit 1,1 bis 2,5 GHz und integriert eine DirectX-12-fähige Grafikeinheit. Im Vergleich zu früheren Atom-Generation wurde die Pro-MHz-Leistung der CPU-Architektur signifikant gesteigert und ebenso die Grafikeinheit verbessert.

Intel Celeron:

N2840: Sparsamer Dual-Core-SoC auf Basis der Atom-Architektur "Silvermont" für kompakte und preiswerte Einstiegsnotebooks. Taktet mit bis zu 2,58 GHz und integriert eine DirectX-11-fähige Grafikeinheit.

In this weight range, there are particularly light laptops, convertibles and subnotebooks that are trimmed for good portability.

68.7%: Diese Bewertung ist schlecht. Locker drei Viertel der Modelle werden besser beurteilt. Das ist eher keine Kaufempfehlung. Auch wenn Verbalbewertungen in diesem Bereich gar nicht so schlecht klingen ("genügend" oder "befriedigend"), meist sind es Euphemismen, die eine Klassifikation als unterdurchschnittliches Notebook verschleiern.
