Priced at Rs 9999, it is definitely tough to recommend the Zenfone Live especially with the outdated hardware and when phones like Redmi 4 and Redmi Note 4 are being offered at sub 10k price segment. The Zenfone Live has a good HD display and front selfie camera with flash for better live streaming along with the beautify app. But the good aspects end there, with a 4 year old hardware which struggles with performance and a steep price tag won’t help Zenfone Live in sales. If you are into live streaming quite often, probably the Zenfone Live is worth a try.

Among the entry-level phones ASUS has released in the past few months, the ZenFone Live L1 is one of their better offerings. Aside from the much-improved ZenUI and better internals, ASUS gave the ZenFone Live L1 a more competitive price at a hair below Php 6k. As far as pricing is concerned, ASUS made the right move on making the ZenFone Live L1 more affordable than its predecessor.

The Asus Zenfone Live L1 retails for Php 5,995 and should be available at authorized Asus Resellers around the country. Honestly, their in for some very tough competition in this price bracket so we’ll see how it holds up when we take it though its paces. We’ll be publishing a more comprehensive review for this device soon, so make sure you check it out if this device has piqued your interest.

Big and basic are what you get if you plunk down $110 at Best Buy for Asus' Zenfone Live (L1), the company's first phone to use the stripped-down version of Google's Android operating system, Android Go. The budget Go versions of phones are slowly arriving in the US, and are appealing if you want something a little more flexible than prepaid but can't stomach the high prices of the hot new phones.

We can still recommend Asus Zenfone Live to basic users who are looking for compact and light phone that can enhance their live videos on social networks.

Asus Zenfone Live is pitching the ability to improve your Live video as the USP. I would have not thought that such a USP is possible. But in the age of selfie cameras and Live videos, anything goes.

Considering the USP, yes it does beautify your live video, but do you really want to spend 10k on a phone to go live. With decent hardware and camera, it's an average smartphone.

The phone is available at ₹9,999, but the pricing seems not convincing when we compare the phone with the existing Chinese rivals. The performance may not meet the current app demands, chances are, the overall experience of the phone might let you down. Good for you if you all do is live video sessions on the Facebook, Instagram or any similar Social app.

We would say that while there a few things about the Asus Zenfone Live that we liked, there were many aspects that disappointed us. While the display, software and beautification app are plus points, the performance, heating issues and average camera are downers.

The Asus ZenFone Live claims to be the first to have live beautification for social media. It somewhat delivers on that front but there are too many sacrifices. The choice of an outdated processor for the ZenFone Live is highly questionable and the missing fingerprint sensor does not help its case.

Asus Zenfone Live ZB 501KL is dedicatedly made for people who love live streaming. The smartphone has one of the best microphone setup installed inside it that delivers unmatchable audio recording at its price tag. For people who frequently go online for live streaming and want to get a smartphone for it, Zenfone Live is a good choice. However, if you’re looking for a smartphone for multitasking, Hardcore gaming, lots of video playback and an overall swift interface, Zenfone live would not be the best option for you.

Overall, the smartphone has its shares of hits and misses. The device comes with a lightweight design, coupled good display and decent camera performance in broad daylight. But the phone let down with a heavy user interface, struggles in low light conditions and has an average battery life. Though the real-time beautification camera is tempting, but when it comes to sheer performance, the device is an underdog when compared to the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 4, Lenovo K6 Power and so on.

Asus Zenfone Live is looks good, give premium feel, is light weight and heat-up is well under control. Camera is average and so is the battery life. Not sure if Selfie lovers would actually will use the live video beautification mode. But if you look at the price of Zenfone Live – Rs. 9,999 it is way too pricey for the outdated hardware they have used.

The Asus ZenFone Live is a one-of-its-kind smartphone if you're into live-streaming. Even then, 9 out of 10 times, you're better off buying another phone than Asus's one-trick pony. The ZenFone Live has been found lacking on almost all the other fronts both on paper and in terms of real world usage to an extent that it's surprising that such a phone even exists in today's world. It's highly recommended that you give this one a skip.

The Asus Zenfone Live fails at what it set out to do. It's livestream beautification feature is a gimmick that doesn't really come in handy. In addition, the phone doesn't perform very well, nor does it have any stand-out features worth spending on. It's not a good buy.

The ZenFone Live is a first of its kind smartphone targeting the ‘live-generation’. It’s a good idea which hasn’t been implemented very well. The phone itself cannot match its competition. It is running on buggy software, powered by an old chipset and offers very low-end features. While the dedicated app to make live broadcasts is decent, there isn’t much to it apart from adding a filter. A fully loaded app would have made some justice.

ASUS’ ZenFone Live lives up to its promise of beautifying you in real time. It’s the first smartphone we’ve encountered with that particular feature, and should keep you looking fresh AF whenever you start streaming on Facebook, YouTube and Instagram.

While we wrap our review, we can’t help but conclude that the Zenfone Live, sans the BeautyLive feature, is what could have been the latest Zenfone Go. Nonetheless, we’re glad to ASUS opening up live streaming to the masses. If only ASUS partnered with a telco to sponsor the data costs, it would have been a complete package.

Despite ASUS launching several Zenfone 3 devices last year, the Taiwanese company has always had a hole in its lineup in the budget segment. And while price cuts have brought down the pricing of the 5.2-inch Zenfone 3 Max to under 10K, there hasn’t really been a solid smartphone contender for the budget market since last year.
