Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra is a massive smartphone. The display on the device is bright and vivid; however it has black bezel around it and the screen is not visible in direct sunlight. Carrying the smartphone with you is not as easy as you would think; it doesn’t fit inside the pocket as well. Camera performance is sharp and accurate in daylight conditions only, and not too accurate in low. Battery life is great. So, only if you’re looking for an enormous entertainment product, go for Zenfone 3 Ultra.

The ZenFone 3 Ultra is too big for one. Its sheer size and scale could be a major turn-off for many. Then again, it could have made a lot of sense for someone who is a multimedia junkie who loves to Netflix, or read e-books, or someone simply looking to replace their Android tablet with a full-functional phablet. But, it doesn't. If you're looking for a large phablet, you're better off saving (a lot of) money and buying the Xiaomi Mi Max. The only trade-off perhaps would be the camera, but all in all, the Mi Max is capable of hitting the ZenFone 3 Ultra straight out of the ball park, in every sense of the word.

Calling the Zenfone 3 Ultra, a phone, is a bit of a stretch. For that matter it transcends even the phablet category and is approaching small tablet standards. Marginally smaller than a Nexus 7, it really puts media consumption and battery life first. On those fronts, the phone excels with a very good screen though points could be deducted for it not being a Quad HD panel. The exemplary battery life further aids its claim of being a content consumption device.

Coming in with an RM2599 price tag and 6.8-inch full HD display, the ASUS ZenFone 3 Ultra ZU680KL is just 0.2-inches short of a full 7-inch tablet. Still, ASUS have done a very good job of shrinking the bezels so that it looks like a very large phone instead of a tablet phone. Featuring a flat and thin all metal design, the ZenFone 3 Ultra has "invisible antennas" or no visible antenna bands but is the only ZenFone 3 to put the fingerprint sensor in the home button (also the only one with a physical home button for that matter).

Lastly the price, at RM2599 that shouts "flagship", that is not very convincing for a phone that only comes with mid-ranged Qualcomm Snapdragon 652. If and only if ASUS were to pair this phone with a flagship worthy SoC, it will definitely hold back quite a few potential customers because, at the same price, they can instead get a high spec ZenFone 3 Deluxe. Unless you're looking for a phone that is larger than a phablet for your day to day usage, then you might consider having ZenFone 3 Ultra in your pocket.

Modell: Das Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra ZU680KL ist ein riesiges 6.8-Zoll-Smartphone, welches für User, die viele Videos anschauen, gemacht wurde. Sein riesiger 4.600-mAh-Akku kann dank Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 Technologie schnell geladen werden, nämlich von leer auf 60% in nur 45 Minuten. Es kann sogar angeschlossene Geräte wie eine Powerbank mit einer hohen Stromstärke von 1,5 A laden. Laut Asus handelt es sich weltweit um das erste Phone, das mit einem 4K UHD TV-Grade Videoprozessor ausgestattet ist, während ein 6,8 Zoll großer Full-HD-Bildschirm (1.920 x 1.080) erstklassige Grafik liefert. Das Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra ZU680KL verfügt über ein elegantes, diamantgeschnittenes Voll-Metall-Unibody-Gehäuse. Das Gehäuse besteht aus Aluminium-Legierung in Luftfahrtqualität und ein CNC spezialgefertiger Metallkörper schützt das ZenFone 3 Ultra. Es ist vom Zen-Geist inspiriert: die Verkörperung von Luxus, Schönheit und Einfachheit. Verwendet wird weiters ein unsichtbares Antennen-Design mit einer PureMetal genannten Technologie. Das ZenFone 3 Ultra verjüngt sich an der dünnsten Kante auf 6,8 mm und ist ergonomisch abgerundet um perfekt in der Hand zu liegen. Rundherum ist es abgeschrägt und auf bloß 0,18 mm diamantgeschnitten, was fast so fein wie eine einzelne Strähne menschlichen Haares ist. In puncto Bildschirm nutzt das Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra ZU680KL über die ASUS Tru2Life+ Technologie mit Bewegungsschätzungs- und Bewegungsausgleichs-Algorithmen (MEMC) für flüssige, unverschwommene Anzeige, die nicht ruckelt. Zudem sorgt es für 95% NTSC Farbraumabdeckung, um lebendige Farben zu liefern. Gorilla Glass 4 schützt den Bildschirm vor kleinen Kratzern und Beschädigungen.

In puncto Audio sorgt die SonicMaster 3.0 Technologie des Zenfone 3 Ultra für höchste Audio-Leistung bei Entertainment oder Anrufen. Zwei von einem leistungsstarken NXP Smart AMP angetriebene Fünf-Magnet-Lautsprecher erzeugen eine weiten, lauten Output. In einfachen Tests mit Musik bringt das Soundsystem des Phones eine bemerkenswerte Leistung. Es liefert gerade genug Bass ohne die Reinheit zu beeinträchtigen. Bei Anrufen sorgt das SonicMaster 3.0 sogar in den lautesten Umgebungen für beste Sprachqualität in VoLTE (Voice over LTE). Das ZenFone 3 Ultra bietet PixelMaster 3.0 bestehend aus einer 23-MP-Kamera, 92-MP-Super-Resolution-Technologie, großer f/2.0-Blende und Subject-Tracking TriTech Autofokus für jeden Abstand und Lichtbedingung in nur 0,03 Sekunden. Es nutzt sowohl optische als auch elektronische Bildstabilisierung für unverschwommene Fotos und Videos und einen Farbkorrektursensor für Echtfarben-Fotografie. Außerdem verfügt es über Echtzeit-HDR, die HDR-Fotos richtig gerahmt zeigt. All dies ergibt eine ziemlich gute Fotoqualität, kann jedoch von ernsthaften Konkurrenten wie das Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge und iPhone 7 Plus immer noch spielend geschlagen werden. Eine andere Anmerkung ist das Fehlen eines geeigneten Manuell-Modus für die Kamera. Das ZenFone 3 Ultra ist mit einem 64-bit Snapdragon 652 Prozessor - eine ziemlich seltsame Wahl für ein Top-Modell – und 4 GB RAM ausgestattet. Es bietet 300 Mbps 4G LTE und eine intuitive Fingerabdrucksicherheit, die in einem Bruchteil einer Sekunde entsperrt. Kurzum, das Zenfone 3 Ultra ist ein ernstzunehmendes Smartphone mit einigen wirklich coolen Features. Für seinen Preis leistet es erstaunliche Arbeit. Wenn Sie sich nicht erwarten, dass es sich um einen Flagship-Killer handelt, werden sie zufrieden sein.
