Das Zenfone 3 Deluxe steht im Schatten der großen Konkurrenten Samsung Galaxy S8 und LG G6, technisch gibt es dafür kaum Gründe. Das Handy punktet mit edlem Design, guter Performance, großem internen Speicher, Dual-SIM-Funktionalität und einem sehr ansehnlichen Display. Diesbezüglich gibt es allerdings schon einen Kritikpunkt: den schwarzen Rahmen zwischen sichtbarem Bildschirminhalt und dem Gehäuse.

Schwächen hat das Zenfone 3 Deluxe keine. Alles funktioniert gut bis sehr gut. Leichte Abzüge gibt es bauartbedingt bei Haptik (weil ein Riese niemals handlich ist, auch wenn er sich gut anfühlt), Design (wegen des flachen Glases), Akku (der müsste bei der Größe auch eine Spur größer sein) und rechnerisch beim Bildschirm.

Die Erwartungen, die mit der edlen Verpackung geweckt wurden, konnte das Zenfone 3 Deluxe dann leider nicht halten. Vor allem der sehr hohe Preis von 799 Euro ist nicht gerechtfertigt, zumal man ja, wie erwähnt, ein mindestens sieben Monate altes Smartphone bekommt, das auch nur mit Android 6.0.1 geliefert wird.

Mit dem Zenfone 3 Deluxe ist Asus der Sprung in die Oberklasse der Smartphone-Liga nicht nur geglückt, sondern Asus ist es auch gelungen mit Platzhirschen wie dem Mate 9 (zum Testbericht) oder auch dem Samsung Galaxy S7 (zum Testbericht) gleichzuziehen. We do not have any second thoughts about the phone being a beast when it comes to the spec sheet and its performance. But what we think is going to hit Asus the hardest in the case of the Zenfone 3 Deluxe is the price of the smartphone. Asus has priced Zenfone 3 Deluxe at Rs. 62,999 which is more than the double of what OnePlus is charging for OnePlus 3T which offers a similar processor. In fact, we did not really see a humongous difference between the performance of the Deluxe and Lenovo Z2 Plus and the latter just costs Rs. 15,000. Yes, the Zenfone 3 Deluxe is a Hulk in terms of performance and that 256 GB of onboard storage is a massive plus, but its Hulk-like price is likely to make consumers hesitate from investing in it, especially when you consider the level of competition around it.

Modell: Das Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe ZS570KL wurde auf jene ausgerichtet, die ein erstklassiges, jedoch leistbares Produkt mit vielen Features suchen. Das Gehäuse des Smartphones ist aus hochwertiger Legierung, die auch in der Luftfahrt eingesetzt wird und mit 0,14 mm Diamantschlifftechnologie präzise gefräst wird. Damit sieht das Smartphone nicht nur erstklassig und elegant aus, sondern ist auch gut verarbeitet. Zudem behauptet Asus, es würde sich um das weltweit erste Smartphone mit Vollmetallkörper und unsichtbarem Antennen-Design handeln und dies stimmt bis zu einem gewissen Grad.

Am Smartphone ist Android 6.0 Marshmallow mit der ASUS ZenUI 3.0 Benutzerschnittstelle vorinstalliert. In puncto Processor kann der Nutzer zwischen zwei verschiedene Optionen wählen, nämlich dem 2,1 GHz 64-bit Qualcomm Quad-Core Snapdragon 820 Prozessor oder dem höher getakteten 2,4 GHz 64-bit Qualcomm Quad-Core Snapdragon 821 Prozessor. Beide Prozessoren bieten die Adreno 530 GPU. Allerdings wird vermutet, dass die Variante mit Snapdragon 820 Prozessor bald aus dem Programm genommen wird. Das Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe ZS570KL verfügt über 6 GB LPDDR4 RAM und wahlweise 64 GB, 128 GB oder 256 GB internen Speicher. Die Speicherkapazität kann via MicroSD-Slot um bis zu 2 TB erweitert werden. Allerdings werden aktuell nur MicroSD-Karten mit bis zu 256 GB angeboten.

Dank seiner hochwertigen Hardware positioniert sich das Smartphone in der Flaggschiff-Kategorie und Asus beabsichtigt, mit diesem Smartphone gegen andere Marken im High-End-Markt anzutreten. Es verfügt über einen 5,7 Zoll großen Full HD Super AMOLED Bildschirm, der durch Corning Gorilla Glass 4 (super-kratzfest) geschützt wird. Der Bildschirm bietet zusätzliche Features wie Tru2life-Technologie, Bluelight Filter zur Schonung der Augen, ein kapazitiver Touchscreen der Eingaben bis zu 10-Finger unterstützt, eine fettabweisende Beschichtung, die unempfindlich gegenüber Fingerabdrücken und Schmutz ist, 60 ms Reaktionszeit auf Touch für eine flüssige Gaming-Erfahrung und Unterstützung von Eingaben mit Handschuh. Das Smartphone bietet eine 23-MP-Kamera mit f/2.0-Blende und 6P-Largan-Linsen und Features wie Autofokus, 0,03 Sekunden Auto-Laserfokus, 32 Sekunden lange Belichtung und 4-Achsen optische Bildstabilisierung zur Erzeugung ruhiger Bilder. Es gibt zwei LEDs für einen Real-Tone-Flash und die PixelMaster Kamera-Modi sind unter schlechten Lichtbedingungen hilfreich. An der Vorderseite befindet sich eine 8-MP-Kamera mit f/2.0-Blende und 85-Grad-Weitwinkel.

Zudem verfügt das Smartphone über alle Standardmerkmale, die man in allen aktuellen Smartphones antrifft wie Beschleunigungsmesser, E-Kompass, Gyroskop, Hall-Sensor, Näherungssensor, Umgebungslichtsensor, RGB-Sensor, IR-Sensor und Fingerabdruckleser. Allerdings fehlen ein FM-Radio, Java-Kompatibilität, ein Barometer und ein Temperatursensor. Sollten User diese fehlenden Features nutzen wollen, müssen sie diese zusätzlich kaufen. Das ZenFone 3 Deluxe ist in drei verschiedenen Farben verfügbar: Shimmer-Gold, Glacier-Silver und Titanium-Grey. Es verfügt über einen nicht entfernbaren 3000 mAh Akku mit BoostMaster Fast Charging, welches ein Laden des Phones auf 60% in 40 Minuten ermöglicht und Quick Charge 3.0. Aufgrund all dieser Features könnte man sich erwarten, dass das Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe ZS570KL preismäßig in der Flaggschiff-Kategorie anzusiedeln wäre, doch das ist nicht der Fall. Es ist nur etwas teurer als viele Phones im Mittelklasse-Segment.
