The ASUS ZenBook UX501 is built with excellence with great choice of materials, design language and above everything else – it’s thin and light. Despite it’s fragile looks, the notebook is sturdy and houses really powerful components suitable for gaming. In addition, the touchpad and keyboard are just flawless without any issues at all. Though, the material used for the making of the interior could have been aluminum as well, because other high-end notebooks like the MacBook Pro have the desired premium feel of the all-aluminum body. At least this doesn’t affect the overall sturdiness of the chassis.

Asus' flagship ZenBook Pro UX501 has the latest Intel and Nvidia technology, as well as an SSD, a Full HD matte display and a Bang & Olufsen audio system. The Asus ZenBook Pro UX501 is an excellent 15" laptop, being both multifunctional and well-built. There are a few weak areas: the less-than-perfect screen calibration and the fairly short battery life—these two points seriously bring down its value-for-money.

Overall, there's a whole lot to like about the Asus ZenBook Pro UX501. It offers a beautiful 3,840x2,160 touch display with extra-wide viewing angles. What's more, the system's case looks as good as its screen. And it's a remarkable bargain at $1,499, when you consider the much higher prices of the MacBook Pro and XPS 15—or, for that matter, the Razer Blade, with which the UX501 almost kept pace in our benchmarks despite the Blade's higher price and gamer orientation.

If physical aesthetics and a 4K screen are your primary goals, and you're looking to keep costs down, the Asus ZenBook Pro UX501 is an excellent bet. With a large SSD, this model can work well for content creators and consumers alike. But, beware the battery life: It's enough to get you through a few hours, but not enough for a laptop you're taking out for a whole day – or relying on at a conference, where outlets may be few and far between. This model's heavy weight is another detriment when it comes to portability.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M: Schnelle Grafikkarte der Performance-Klasse aus der GeForce-GTX-900M-Baureihe.

Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.
