Die P-Kerne unterstützten Hyperthreading (daher gemeinsam 12 Threads) und takten von 2,1 bis 4,6 GHz (Einzelkern-Turbo, Mehrkern-Turbo 4,5 GHz). Die E-Kerne takten von 1,5 - 3,4 GHz und sollen eine vergleichbare Performance wie alte Skylake Kerne bieten (z.B. i7-6300HQ ). Im Vergleich zum 12500H bietet der 12420H nur die Hälfte der E-Cores und einen geringeren Boost-Takt der P-Cores.

Durch die höheren Taktraten (+200 MHz Boost) sollte sich der i5-13420H leicht vom alten i5-12450H absetzen können.
