60% ZTE Blade X1 review: A hidden but flawed gem for Visible users

If you’re on a budget and itching to try Verizon’s Visible service, this is the way to do it. However, there’s no good way to get your hands on a ZTE Blade X1 with any other carrier in the US. That’s a shame because the ZTE Blade X1 is more than competitive when it comes to the camera, processor, and RAM with many phones in its price tier. Where the Blade X1 comes up well short is the software. It’s not good enough to have a device running on an outdated security patch for more than a year and the lack of a long-term promise for platform upgrades is far behind rivals from Samsung and Google. We’ve already mentioned the closest alternatives to the Blade X1 in the Pixel 5a ($449), Galaxy A52 5G ($499), and OnePlus Nord N200 ($239). The former two hold more value and power for your money, while the Nord N200 is a cheaper entry into 5G, albeit with a similarly questionable software situation.

But the real question is whether you should buy the Blade X1 5G. If you’re looking to switch to Visible (or Yahoo Mobile) and definitely want 5G, then this is more than enough of a phone to handle anything you need. The phone is snappy, has a solid quad-camera system, and is extremely comfortable in the hand. Our biggest complaint comes down to the lack of software updates, which we are hoping to see the company improve upon in the very near future.

Qualcomm Adreno 620: Grafikchip für Smartphones und Tablets, integriert im Qualcomm Snapdragon 765/765G SoC. Etwas schnellere Version der Adreno 618 (+20% laut Qualcomm für den 765G). Im 765G nochmals 10% schneller als im Snapdragon 765 (durch höhere Taktraten).

Einige nicht anspruchsvolle aktuelle Spiele können mit geringen Details noch flüssig gespielt werden. Für Office und Video natürlich ausreichende Leistungsreserven.

SD 765G: Mittelklasse SoC mit 8 Kryo 475 Kernen (1x ARM Cortex A76 2,4 GHz Prime Core, 1x ARM Cortex A76 2,2 GHz Gold Core und 6x ARM Cortex-A55 1,8 GHz) und einem X52 5G Modem (bis zu 3,7 / 1,6 Mbps Down- und Upload, mmWave und Sub-6 Support). Im Vergleich zur Non-G Version ist der Prime-Core um 100 MHz höher getaktet und auch die GPU bietet einen nicht definierten höheren Takt (+20% mehr Leistung).
