Das ZTE enttäuscht als typischer Vertreter der Mittelklasse nicht. Das Display ist mehr als ausreichend, es kommt ein halbwegs aktuelles Android-System zum Einsatz und auch die Performance kann ich sehen lassen. Die Laufzeit des leider nicht wechselbaren Akkus geht in Ordnung und Bonus gibt es noch die Dual-SIM-Möglichkeit, perfekt für den Auslandsurlaub.

ZTE beweist mit dem Blade S6, dass man für ein gutes Smartphone nicht immer zu den Flaggschiffen der großen Hersteller greifen muss, um ein grundsolides Smartphone zu erhalten. Wer mit einigen Abstrichen leben kann, bekommt durchaus ein rundes Gesamtpaket geliefert.

Ein Flaggschiff-Smartphone für rund 250 Euro?! Ein klareres Statement zu der Produktphilosophie von ZTE gibt es wohl nicht – preisaggressiv sein ist das A und O der Chinesen. Ist es damit auch billig? Jein. Im Bereich Ausstattung, Performance und Handhabung kann das ZTE Blade S6 durchaus in der oberen Liga mitspielen, zumal es zu den cleversten Dual-SIM-Smartphones auf dem Markt gehört.

Die Sprachqualität beim Telefonieren ist eher mäßig, aber noch akzeptabel. Der leistungsfähige Achtkern-Prozessor und das helle Display erweisen sich bei intensiver Nutzung als Stromfresser, der fest verbaute 2400-mAh-Akku hält aber eine Weile vor.

Das ZTE Blade S6 ist ein brauchbares Gesamtpaket, das vor allem mit seinem schnellen SoC überzeugt. Echte Schwächen oder gar Mängel leistet es sich zudem nicht. Wer also ein leistungsstarkes Mittelklasse-Smartphone mit vergleichsweise günstigem Preis sucht, ist hier grundsätzlich richtig.

The ZTE Blade S6 may be faster than the 3rd Gen Moto G, but when Motorola's handset is better made and has a superior camera and battery life, the money you save with the Blade S6 starts to feel like a false economy. There's also the Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 to consider, which is arguably better value than both handsets as long as you don't mind switching to Vodafone. The Blade S6 certainly hits hard in the budget smartphone arena, but it lacks the stamina to really go head-to-head with Android's cut-price heavyweights.

We like what the ZTE Blade S6 is about. It wants to get you something a bit snazzier and more powerful than an ‘upper-entry’ level model like the Motorola Moto G, while still staying significantly below £200. We’re just not all that sure about how ZTE has handled it. The custom UI feels a little unprofessional in parts, and some of the custom software loaded onto the ZTE Blade S6 is rubbish.

While the name could certainly do with some work — seriously ZTE, you’re not fooling anyone that this is an S6 — as could the style and design — again, you’re not fooling anyone that this isn’t an iPhone — ZTE’s take on what constitutes a mid-range phone for a less-than mid-range price is intriguing, and would certainly be compelling for someone keen for a new phone who has no qualms about trying a brand that isn’t totally recognisable.

It has been nice to use the ZTE Blade S6 over the last week as it has been refreshing to see such a new phone from a Chinese manufacturer coming straight to market. Beyond the initial launcher it is a clean(ish) Android Lollipop experience. Whilst it does have some shortcomings in a few areas, this is a good all-round device. If only it had a slightly better battery then it would not be that far off being a genuine Mid tier champion.

Obviously, given the interior excellence, compromises would have to be made to keep the ZTE competitively priced. You’ll find those compromises most evident within the design, screen and battery power the phone affords. But the phone truly excels in other areas. The ZTE Blade S6 is definitely an eye-catcher but the iPhone looks may be doing it more harm than favors at some markets. Apple is a natural target for replicas - there are blatant copycats and then there are phones like the Blade S6, which manage to retain an identity if their own. Still, brands like ZTE and Lenovo don't have to go there to get noticed.

Modell: Das ZTE Blade S6 ist ein Mittelklasse-Smartphone, welches unter Android v5 (Lollipop) läuft. Die abgerundeten Ecken und Kanten erinnern stark an das Apple iPhone 6, der Körper des Blade 6 ist jedoch aus beschichteten Kunststoff mit einer glatten Satin-Oberfläche. Es ist nur in einer Farbe, nämlich weiß mit grauer Rückseite, verfügbar. An der Rückseite befindet sich der Lautsprecher. Der Home-Button an der Vorderseite leuchtet blau und dient als Hinweis auf Benachrichtigungen.

Das Blade 6 verfügt über einen 5-Zoll großen Bildschirm mit einer Auflösung von 720p und lebendigen Farben. Das Smartphone mit Dual-SIM (Dual Stand-by) unterstützt LTE. Das Gerät wird von einen 64-bit Snapdragon Prozessor und einer Adreno 405 GPU mit 2 GB RAM angetrieben. In puncto Speicher stehen 16 GB interner Speicher zur Verfügung. Die Speicherkapazität kann mit einer microSD-Karte um bis zu 64 GB erweitert werden.

Es gibt eine sekundäre Frontkamera mit 5 MP und eine 13-MP-Kamera an der Rückseite, die Videos in 1080p@30fps aufzeichnen kann und gute Bildaufnahmefähigkeiten liefert. Schließlich hält der 2400-mAh-Akku einen Tag normaler Nutzung durch. Insgesamt erhält man Mittelklasse-Android-Erfahrung zu einem günstigen Preis.

Diese Karten können nur sehr alte und sehr anspruchslose 3D Spiele flüssig darstellen.  Anwendungen wie Office, Internet surfen, Bildbearbeitung oder (SD) Videoschnitt sind jedoch ohne große Einschränkungen möglich.

Dieses Display ist winzig. Man wird wohl sehr wenig am Bildschirm sehen und Mini-Auflösungen nutzen können.
