The Redmi Note 14 Pro and Pro Plus cater to casual smartphone users and photography enthusiasts on a budget. They offer plenty of storage, good looks, quality displays, great durability credentials, and sleek styling. The cheaper Redmi Note 14 Pro is a winning option if you want a best-in-class main camera and don’t need a smidgen of extra power and faster power-ups. The Pro Plus, meanwhile, is more future-proofed owing to the more specced out processor, but there really isn’t a huge amount in it. We definitely wouldn’t call either phone a no-brainer given the relatively punchy prices on launch, Xiaomi’s bloated HyperOS, and the weak secondary cameras on board. Nevertheless, at the right price and with Xiaomi’s habit of heavily discounting Redmi phones almost immediately after launch, either phone could be a great buy.

The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G is an attractive smartphone given the overall package and its affordable price of RM1,699 for the 256GB variant and RM1,899 for the 512GB variant. It’s nowhere close to a flagship performance but if you’re looking for a fuss-free, reliable daily driver that might break the floor before it breaks the bank, then this might be the ideal choice. If you’re geared more towards mobile gaming, then the POCO X7 series might be the better choice, but that will be a story for another day.

The Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus is a solid mid-range device that offers good value for money, priced at around $600. However, when compared to its competitors—especially domestic rivals—it doesn’t deliver a knockout win, and it’s uncertain whether it would win on points either. The differences between models in the Redmi Note 14 series can be confusing. Despite belonging to the same lineup, they feature different processors, varying amounts of memory, and completely different camera setups. Therefore, it's essential to carefully check which model you're choosing.

The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ is a capable mid-range smartphone with highlights like a stunning design, excellent charging speeds, and a dependable 200Mp main camera. However, it fails to innovate meaningfully over its predecessor, offering minimal improvements in secondary cameras, performance, and software. The bloatware-laden HyperOS 2 and outdated Android 14 further detract from its appeal. While the Note 14 Pro+ is a decent choice for users prioritising charging speed, camera versatility, and design, competitors like the Poco X7 Pro, OnePlus Nord 4, and Google Pixel 8a offer more well-rounded packages.

To wrap up this review, the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G is clearly a “could have been better” phone for me. It’s not that bad but there’s definitely a big room for improvement. While it offers good features like in terms of the display, design, speakers, and haptics, the software and camera side of things could’ve used some work. So, is it worth the price? I’m kinda hesitant to say “yes”, although considering the fact that there’s really not much competition in the NPR 50,000 segment, the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ does make sense.

Battery life, though, has improved. The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ clocked 9hr 47min in PCMark's battery life test, up from 7hr 53min for the previous model. It has a slightly larger 5,110mAh battery, though the charging speed remains very fast with the included 120W charger. No wireless charging, of course. Besides battery life, the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G feels largely the same as its predecessor with some minor hardware upgrades. The UFS downgrade is disappointing, and coupled with the lack of a significant processor upgrade, likely contributes to the phone's sluggish feel. You do get some AI features, but I doubt they make much of a difference to most users. Thankfully, the price remains the same as last year's model at S$569 for the 12GB + 512GB version tested here, while the 256GB model is S$549. Get it now on Shopee and Lazada.

We have the global model of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus for review. Sitting on top of the Redmi Note 14 family, it's the most feature-rich of the bunch. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G had a mixed performance in our DXOMARK Display tests, with the High-end phone’s screen staying true to colors amid uneven brightness levels that affected the overall user experience. The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G’s high PWM makes the screen comfortable to use, particularly when indoors and in low light, providing consistently good colors in most use cases. But readability of the screen declined when outdoors, as the control of brightness levels became unstable in sunlight, making some color nuances appear flat. Watching HDR videos in a dark environment was comfortable thanks to a well-suited brightness, but many of the video’s details were hard to see. In an indoor lighting environment, the HDR experience was comfortable in terms of brightness and colors but some details remained hard to see.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G offered impressive image quality for its price segment. Target exposure and white balance were often accurate in bright and indoor conditions, though they could sometimes be unstable, particularly in HDR scenarios. A dedicated ultrawide module captured well-detailed images. For video, the quality was satisfactory for still scenes. However, in scenes with motion, autofocus instabilities and prominent stabilization artifacts were noticeable.

As this review is drawing to a close, we are left with mainly positive impressions. There are quite a few things to like in the Redmi Note 14 Pro+, like the extra durable build, the very nice screen, the new battery chemistry, the solid performance with awesome thermal stability, the great video recording and the very fast charging. However, the features that matter are the same as in last year's model, which is considerably cheaper now. We hoped for better battery life, better photo quality and a bigger performance bump but these things have not changed in the new model a full year later. And there are phones in this price range that can offer you an even better chipset and longer battery life.

At a little over £300 when taking advantage of the voucher discount on Amazon right now, this phone ends up being a great bargain for what's on offer. If HyperOS 2 improves some of the niggles I have discovered, then it' end up an even greater deal. Not everyone wants to spend up to 4-figures that a flagship phone costs nowadays, even the smallest model Galaxy S24 is still around £700. To have even some of the features of a flagship phone in something that costs £300 is quite compelling, though I think the Note 14 Pro+ 5G goes beyond flagship spec in some respects given its price.

So who is this phone for? I think it’s for people who are looking for a good-looking mid-range phone with good performance, decent battery life, and an aesthetically pleasing design that can withstand occasional drops. If Xiaomi had retained the same specs as the Chinese variant, I could also recommend it to people looking for a decent cameraphone for mobile photography, but based on our results, you might be disappointed.

Would I recommend buying the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ from Xiaomi? Yes, probably, if it weren't for the almost equally good predecessor model, which is currently available for around $300. The price even dropped further over the holiday period, so be sure to keep an eye out for offers. My overall impression is a little confused at the moment: The device looks really good, the display is still great, and is now even brighter. The SoC and camera have stagnated, albeit at an acceptable level, while the battery has become bigger and charges quickly. HyperOS has new AI functions in tow, but apart from that, there is very little going on here either. So I'm looking at a mid-range smartphone that is good, has no real complete failures to complain about in terms of specifications, but is priced a little too expensive for me.

The Redmi Note continues to be Xiaomi’s mid-range king, and the current-gen model definitely shows it. It’s a well-balanced smartphone with plenty of features to satisfy most users, with a price tag that won’t make them sweat too much. And it looks good to boot, finally worthy of the “flagship” moniker. In the grander scheme of things, however, this king might be found a bit lacking. The use of older memory technologies and the reuse of older camera sensors won’t sit well with many people, at least those who like to dig deep into specs and comparisons. Truth be told, the average buyer might not care so much and only see a sleek smartphone with decent chops, and in that regard, the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G definitely doesn’t disappoint.

You may think that spaffing out cash on the Pro+ phone might bag you the absolute best tech, although it's only the regular Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 5G that offers a headphone jack and expandable storage. The Redmi Note Pro 5G does upgrade the display tech to a slightly brighter 1.5k panel with Dolby Vision support, while the camera is boosted to a 200MP shooter. However, gaming is still limited unless you go Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus 5G. Battery life is excellent on all three smartphones although again it's the Pro+ that really impresses with 120W fast charge. You've also got more AI features here, but the Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus' camera does struggle to focus at times, which will hopefully be sorted in an update.

It’s more powerful than ever, charges rapidly, and one of its three cameras takes a decent enough picture for the price – so why haven’t I rated the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ any higher? Unfortunately the formula just hasn’t evolved enough from the previous generation – which itself wasn’t much of an upgrade over the model before it. We’re really past the point where 8MP ultrawides and 2MP macro cameras deserve a place on mid-range phones (if they ever really did) and the curved-edge glass feels a bit out of step with the rest of the phone world. An outdated version of Android and refusal to cut down on the bloatware just doesn’t cut it in 2025. The brighter shining OLED screen is welcome, but you don’t have to look too far for more a well-rounded alternative: the OnePlus Nord 4 and Nothing Phone 2a Plus can be had for the same money, while a Google Pixel 8a isn’t that much more.

Xiaomi's camera tech will sound familiar to anyone with the 13 series from last year. The Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus 5G is again pretty good for everyday snaps, even in low light, but any motion often results in blur. Gamers have Xiaomi's HyperOS Game Turbo mode which helps to keep that frame rate high, although Wuthering Waves and other intensive titles struggle on the higher graphics settings. So the Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus isn't the best choice for hardcore gaming fans. And hey, you also get the same 5000mAh battery with 120W charging vs last year's model. And then there's the gorgeous, super-sharp OLED screen, stereo speakers and 256GB storage - all unchanged, more or less, from the old phone.

So, should you be considering investing in the Redmi Note 14 Pro+? Well, it is one of the best phones you can get in the vicinity of Rs 30,000. It is a significant step ahead of the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ in terms of overall performance, and that telephoto sensor and large battery give it a slight edge over the competition. That said, it is “one of the best” and not the undisputed champ of its price zone. As we indicated earlier, the likes of OnePlus and Vivo have devices in their range with comparable specs, design, and performance. The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ is easily the best Note ever in terms of almost every parameter, but unlike many of its predecessors, it is not in a Note-ably different league from the competition.

I have not reviewed Xiaomi or Redmi smartphones since the initial days. But that has not prevented me from buying these phones, especially for my parents, or recommending them when someone asks for a budget device. That is because in my books the Redmi Note series has always been a go-to device when someone wants more bang for their buck. But does that stand true even in 2024? I took the new Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G for a spin to check this. The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G is a stylish-looking phone with a distinct camera module, curved edges that make it comfortable to hold, and a large 6.67-inch AMOLED display. The 1.5K AMOLED display is sharp and bright, good enough to be used in all light conditions.

The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ continues to embody Xiaomi’s value-for-money ethos. The latest iteration offers dependable cameras and performance, while significantly improving durability and design. I also like its new design, which remains sleek and highly portable despite housing a massive battery. I appreciate Xiaomi’s efforts to enhance the UI with the latest HyperOS skin, though further improvements are necessary to make the experience less cluttered by reducing the number of pre-installed third-party apps. As noted, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 delivers reliable performance, although its synthetic benchmark scores are modest compared to rivals like the Edge 50 Pro and the Dimensity 9200+-powered Vivo T3 Ultra.

Redmi Note 14 Pro+ price in India starts at under Rs. 30,000 (8GB + 128GB) - at least that's what the company announced during the launch, while the 12GB + 512GB storage is set at Rs. 34,999. At this price, the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ is still an easy recommendation for anyone looking for a smartphone that is packed to the brim. However, I'm not too sure about the post-launch offers pricing for the smartphone as the company has yet to come back to me with a response to my query on pricing. It is the only phone in the market right now with durability credentials, including passing a 1.5-metre drop test onto marble and also packs an IP68 rating. It packs a fantastic display, can handle performance like a pro, and packs decent cameras.

The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ has a lot to offer. It’s not just all the specifications and features you see on its spec sheet, but we are talking about the experience. The phone has a gorgeous design and a flagship-level display. It has a massive battery that easily lasts a day for most users and a snappy performance. The camera isn’t flawless, but it's pretty good in most scenarios. At Rs 29,999, needless to say, the phone is a steal.

The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ builds on the strengths of its predecessor, delivering an elegant design that belies its price tag. The flowing curves combined with the vegan leather back and brand-new camera housing makes it one of the best-looking phones around, and it now comes with a massive 6200mAh battery that lasts two days between charges. You get one of the most versatile camera systems in this category thanks to a new telephoto lens alongside a decent wide-angle module, and the phone takes great photos. But there's a problem; the phone comes with Android 14 out of the box, there's plenty of bloatware, and the touted AI features aren't available at launch. Essentially, Xiaomi's continued software foibles ruin an otherwise great device.

The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ is priced at INR 30,999 for 8+128GB, INR 32,999 for 8+256GB, and INR 35,999 for 12+512GB. The phone impresses with a good design, high-quality display, and a massive battery. On the other hand, the hardware feels a generation behind the competition, and it shows in its performance. The cameras are decent but lack 60fps video recording at 4K. And while the battery is certainly larger, it has come at the cost of reduced charging speeds. Considering the increased prices and a software experience that is still riddled with bloatware and ads, things look a bit tough for the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ in the current landscape. If battery life, a dedicated telephoto camera, and HyperOS are your priority then the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ makes sense. Otherwise, there are plenty of more well-rounded options on the market.

Xiaomi has made some noticeable improvements with the Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus this year. You get an improved design, better cameras with a telephoto lens and a massive 6,200mAh battery. However, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 has mediocre performance compared to the competition, and the Indian variant lacks the IP69 certification. Since Xiaomi is focusing more on the offline market with the Note series, there is no doubt that it will sell like hotcakes in the sub-30 K segment. However, if you are an online-only user, then there are much better options available, such as the Motorola Moto Edge 50 Pro and the OnePlus Nord 4 .

Both the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro and 14 Pro Plus are excellent smartphones for the price they ask for. These two phones have delivered everything a mid-range phone should and then some. Let’s start with the design, which is fantastic and comes in some excellent colors. You can even buy the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro in the eco-leather variant, which is even more premium. The two phones have a great display that is properly calibrated to provide great visuals, HDR, and higher brightness when using it outdoors. The chipsets are also quite good and can run some of the most graphically demanding games at high framerates. The camera performance of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro and 14 Pro Plus are also quite good.

Modell:
