For a certain kind of photography enthusiast, the Vivo X80 Pro 5G could be the best phone around. It combines a sleek design with an extremely good screen, a comprehensive mix of cameras, and plenty of storage and power. Yes, the X80 Pro 5G is expensive. If you can find it at the right price, though, or simply love its mix of camera highlights and wins across the board, it's a seriously good phone to use, only held back by its good, not great battery life, and the fact it occasionally gets warmer than we'd ideally like.

The Vivo X80 Pro is an exceptional Android phone. Top-notch core specs are combined with a stunning display, excellent battery life and charging, and one of – if not the – best cameras in any phone right now. If you ask me the design leaves something to be desired, especially when it comes to the awkward camera module, though FunTouch OS is really the main reason to consider looking elsewhere. It’s clunky, awkward, and laden with bloatware – hardware this good simply deserves better. Still, if you can get past that then this phone is truly fantastic, and nowhere more so than the camera. Samsung may still have the periscope crown, but Vivo’s main camera and ultrawide are almost certainly the best around, especially at night, and this is one of the few Android phones to come close to the iPhone on video.

Its DXOMARK Display overall score just edging out that of its Snapdragon sibling’s, the MediaTek version of the Vivo X80 Pro is a good smartphone for both watching videos and browsing the web. It has good overall color performance — coming close to the current top score for this attribute — and shows good uniformity across the screen for both brightness and color. While the Vivo X80 Pro (MediaTek) handles artifacts well, gamers may find it lacking in smoothness. Readability suffers a bit under sunlight, however, and it is a bit dim (2 nits) in low light at night.

The overall Display score of the Vivo X80 Pro (Snapdragon) comes in just behind that of the MediaTek version, with the Snapdragon version showing some of the same strengths, such as good management of HDR video contrast and good indoor color fidelity. While it employs image enhancement to make images more readable under direct sunlight, its color rendering of skin tones in particular appears unnatural in extreme lighting conditions. As with its stablemate, brightness on the Snapdragon version is too low (2 nits) in nighttime conditions. It also showed many frame mismatches when playing video games.

That said, S$1,699 is still highly priced, even for its premium classification. Among Android 5G handsets, it's also barely cheaper than the Samsung S22 Ultra while being more expensive than many other options. For this reason, we had to mark down its value proposition. Fortunately, Vivo does make an effort to run regular promotions and campaigns to help make the X80 Pro more palatable. If you're ready to pick up a Vivo X80 Pro, it is officially available via our major telcos (M1, StarHub), the Vivo official store on Lazada and Shopee, Vivo's Concept Store at Bugis Junction and Causeway Point, and other consumer electronic store partners (Best Denki, Challenger, Courts, Gain City, and Harvey Norman).

With a DXOMARK Audio score of 125, the Vivo X80 Pro (MediaTek) performs overall slightly below the level of its Snapdragon counterpart and finds itself in a position far from the top in our ranking. As a Playback device, it performs best when gaming and offers nice warmth in the low-midrange. Sonority sounds muffled, though. The device does well in terms of dynamics but loses points in the spatial attribute, with both wideness and distance rendering leaving room for improvement. Sound processing can behave in an unpredictable manner, resulting in a variety of artifacts. The Vivo X80 Pro (MediaTek) achieves better results for Recording, thanks to a natural tonal balance, effective wind noise reduction, good signal-to-noise ratio, and intelligibility, as well as good handling of content with high sound pressure levels. However, our testers also noted a lack of low-end extension and dull treble rendition, along with an ineffective audio zoom feature. It’s also advisable to check your hand position when recording as covering the microphone will have a negative impact on the sound quality.

With a DXOMARK Audio score of 129 the Vivo X80 Pro (Snapdragon) occupies a mid-table position in the segment ranking. The phone offers decent Timbre and Dynamics as well as a strong bass presence, making it a good option for listening to music and gaming. The user experience is not far off when watching movies, either. In addition the device controls sound artifacts in Playback pretty well. On the downside, tonal balance could do with some more crispness and brightness and attack is dulled down by processing. In general, Dynamics performance varies quite a bit between use cases. For Recording the X80 Pro performs on a very similar level across all use cases, making it a decent allrounder for recording purposes. Tonal balance sounds natural and wind noise reduction does a decent job. A good signal-to-noise ratio ensures good intelligibility of content and the built-in microphone deals well with high sound pressure levels. Areas with potential for improvement include slight lack of low-end extension, a dull treble and a poorly performing audio zoom.

I think that if anyone can afford to buy a phone at such a price, he can easily consider buying this model, on a par with other competitors from the top 3. Privately, this phone gave me a lot of joy and I can admit that I used it with great pleasure. Vivo set out to refine its well-received premium flagship formula and, bar a couple of areas of improvement that continue to stagnate, it’s succeeded in doing so. The vivo X80 Pro is not just a smartphone, but a powerhouse as it does tick all the boxes when it comes to features and specs. But the question is, can it be a perfect flagship device? Well, Android users, or even an iOS fan, will surely fall in love with this device. There are a few drawbacks though, like the lacking of expandable storage, and its curved display – at least to some, but other than that, definitely this can be your ultimate flagship smartphone. The Philippine price for the vivo X80 starts at a price of PHP 45,999 for the 12GB + 256GB variant, and the X80 Pro is at PHP 59,999 for the 12GB + 256GB. For a flagship device, the vivo X80 Pro is priced generously as compared to most flagship smartphones in the market. For instance, the cheapest iPhone 13 model you can buy is around PHP 45,000, and in it, you can only have 128GB of internal storage, a dual camera setup packaged in a very small form factor.

With a price tag of Rs 79,999, the Vivo X80 Pro is by far the most costly smartphone Vivo has ever made. Although it’s a bit pricey, the smartphone has top-notch hardware and software. In addition to an excellent user interface, you receive a camera setup that performs excellently in any environment. However, one thing I didn’t like about the OS was it includes bloatware like any other mid-range phone. This is the best option for those who value a high-quality camera on their smartphone above all else and are willing to pay more for it.

From the start, the Vivo X-series is known for its unique and interesting specs, especially in the camera section. The same story goes for the Vivo X80 Pro smartphone, while it does fit well in the flagship segment with its overall features and specs. But there are tons of other options if you are just looking for a phone for a camera experience. But on the other hand, if we have to recommend the Vivo X80 Pro phone to you, then it does have a great display, ample performance, good photography experience, long-lasting battery, and fast charging support. In short, if you are willing to purchase this phone, you won’t regret a single cent. In case you are looking for an alternative option you can check the Oppo Reno 8 Pro smartphone at a decent price range and good performance.

Yes, if you want a flagship phone that isn’t Samsung or Google. The Vivo X80 Pro is an excellent choice for those hobbyists who love to shoot professional looking images without actually owning professional equipment (Note the looking part — you’ll still need a proper rig if you’re a photographer). Once you’ve turned off the annoying bits and pieces, it offers a clean foundation for creativity. Save for the issues with notifications and background applications, the Vivo X80 Pro also provides a great software experience paired with ample horsepower. It won’t have to hide behind any of the other flagships on the market, and that’s good — after all, Vivo joins the $1,000+ market with this device. The X80 Pro will be sold internationally with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It is initially only available in India, where it costs 86,999 INR, which is roughly $1,120 / €1,050 / £900. Apart from India, the X80 Pro will be available in Europe, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and parts of Latin America.

The Vivo X80 Pro is not a gigantic upgrade over the X70 Pro+ (Review), which was already a great phone to begin with in terms of imaging and performance. If you own a X70 Pro+, the X80 Pro won't seem too impressive. For a new buyer though, the X80 Pro is definitely worth getting over the X70 Pro+ as Vivo hasn't yet dropped the price of the older model. The X80 Pro is a proper premium smartphone for 2022 with the latest SoC and display tech, and has a unique set of cameras that is like no other at this price point. As for the competition, there's plenty to choose from. The Samsung Galaxy S22+ (Review) is a solid contender and is packed to the brim with premium features, but lacks the flexibility of the X80 Pro's cameras and is also priced higher (from Rs. 84,999). Samsung's Galaxy S21 Ultra (Review) may be a year old, but can be found for around Rs. 76,000 online and offers crazy zoom capability and good battery life along with all the features you would expect from a premium flagship. If you are on a tighter budget, the OnePlus 10 Pro (Review) is a good choice as it offers an impressive set of cameras for its price

The Vivo X80 Pro isn’t a revolution compared to its previous flagship, but it doesn’t need to be when the X70 Pro Plus got so much right in the first place. The newest flagship maintains features like a QHD+ 120Hz OLED screen, IP68 rating, and a flexible rear camera system, while bringing even faster wired charging, a small but welcome battery capacity upgrade, and the best in-display fingerprint sensor on a smartphone. The company seems to be learning from its availability woes last year at least, as the new phone is scheduled to arrive in Europe and the Middle East in addition to its current availability in China and India. There’s no word on pricing for these upcoming markets just yet, but all we can say is that Indian users are certainly getting a high-quality phone to take on the Galaxy S22 series. We’ll revisit this review when it hits Europe for better price comparison. The X80 Pro is the newest in a lineup of vivos with awesome camera hardware that takes wonderful pictures and captures nice videos. It has an excellent display, charges quickly to make up for what is mostly average battery life, its stereo speakers are among the better ones, while the large ultrasonic fingerprint reader is pure joy to use. A design that turns heads is also a plus in our book, even if that fancy back may be lacking in grip. The missteps we can point out in the X80 Pro's performance are in the... performance department, where we observed significant heat buildup and thermal throttling. Then again, the limited display refresh rate in gaming should help ensure that doesn't happen too often - turning a con into a pro. In any case, it's the quad camera on the vivo X80 Pro's back that is the star of the show. Indeed, a cameraphone as thoroughly great as this one is hard to find, maybe even impossible, depending on your particular priorities. Perhaps a Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be better, but that doesn't exist yet,

What we understand by pro has become so convoluted in tech jargon that everything has just become pro. Any flagship comes with a pro suffix attached, whether it justifies the features or not. And, over the last five or so years, it has become one of the most overused terms. Vivo, like many others, does not do justice to the pro name with its new iteration the X80 pro. The phone does come equipped with more feature than its other categories, but it does not justify the pro tag. But then what you and I understand as pro, can be very subjective.

As much as I am impressed by the Vivo X80 Pro’s cameras again, part of me has wondered if Vivo is releasing phones at too rapid a pace because the Vivo X80 Pro only brings very, very minor improvement over the Vivo X70 Pro Plus. I think the X80 Pro looks a bit better, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip is obviously an upgrade over the Snapdragon 888, the X80 Pro has longer battery life. But otherwise, the screen and overall performance are similar, and so too, is that camera system. Because I really like the new portrait video mode and filter, I can find appeal in the X80 Pro’s system over the X70 Pro Plus. But honestly, if you don’t care about portrait videos, if you’re just talking about shooting with the main camera, ultra-wide camera, selfies, etc, the two camera systems across the generations are the same. Maybe Vivo’s V1 Plus chip will bring further improvement and refinement as the Vivo X80 Pro’s software matures more, but as of right now, there isn’t a big jump. Again, I know this sounds harsh, but you have to keep in mind that’s because I had such high opinions of the X70 Pro Plus already.

The Vivo X80 Pro retails for Rs 79,999 and for the price, checks most, if not all of the right boxes. For starters, the device offers a premium design that has been paired with a stunning screen. The handset performs like a champ too, and offers a capable camera array that is bound to appease budding photographers and videographers. It also helps that the device supports wireless charging, and touts a weatherproof ingress protection rating too. Don’t get me wrong, the phone isn’t perfect and I firmly believe that the device would benefit immensely from a bloat-free custom skin. Furthermore, you could even make a case for competing Android phones from Xiaomi and OnePlus’ stables, which, despite employing similar specs, retail for much less. Be that as it may, it’s hard to turn a blind eye to the X80 Pro’s camera capabilities. And, unlike the competition, the handset is IP68 certified too. Correspondingly, buyers in the market for a premium Android phone can consider picking up the Vivo X80 Pro.

The Vivo X80 Pro is a viable flagshp phone, putting all its emphasis on the camera. The camera is a little muddled, trying to do far to much for you and the same could be said for the FunTouch OS in general, which seems to introduce fuss that doesn't need to be there - the worst of which is that some notifications never arrive. But at it's heart, this is a powerful smartphone that delivers a flagship experience.

Unlike the Vivo X80, the X80 Pro is more of an iterative update to the X70 Pro+. The most notable changes are the newer Qualcomm SoC, faster wired charging, Vivo's second generation V1+ imaging chip, and the custom Samsung GNV primary camera sensor. This phone seems to be a good all-rounder on paper and I'm quite impressed with what I've seen so far, but I'd recommend waiting for my full review for the final verdict, so stay tuned.

Only a few days back, I reviewed the Xiaomi 12 Pro on your YouTube channel and I called it the most complete flagship phone. I will stick with my statement. Even though I am thoroughly impressed by the Vivo X80 Pro. It is a solid phone, has a great display and offers a seamless performance, but it doesn't have the most user-friendly design. It is big, bulky and difficult to carry. The Xiaomi 12 Pro covers that nicely. Yet, there is no Android phone that comes close X80 Pro when it comes to photography and videography. Just the number of camera options you have is jaw-dropping. What they do, is even more impressive. As I mentioned at the top, it has hands-down the best camera on an Android phone of 2022 and will take some special effort to match performance. So, if you are looking for a point and shoot camera within a phone, the X80 Pro is the device to spend on.Live TV

Photography has been one of the constants in the fast-changing world of smartphones. Every year and every generation brings a new sensor or some new technology that tries to improve the quality of smartphone photos and videos while keeping the devices from blowing up in size. To some extent, Vivo doesn't ride that wave and has mostly stuck to its guns, preferring refinement and perfection over hype. That gamble seems to have paid off if the Vivo X80 Pro is any indication. Taking some of the same cameras from last year's Vivo X70 Pro+, the company was able to evolve its photography experience by building upon what already works and then improving on it. With the new V1+ chip and new cinematic modes from ZEISS, the Vivo X80 Pro is able to prove that the company can indeed rub shoulders with the market's top players in the mobile photography arena. In fact, given its $1,100 starting price and other features, it might have already surpassed them. Unfortunately, it seems that Vivo is also still trying to find its way when it comes to design and where to put its micro gimbal system.

As a do-it-all flagship, the X80 Pro puts in a strong showing. It has the style, screen and stamina to compete at the premium end of the smartphone spectrum, and isn’t short on performance either. It can take some excellent photos in all lighting conditions, and if you snap more people than places, you’ll appreciate the focus on portraiture. The digital bokeh effects aren’t always convincing, though, and the 5x optical zoom doesn’t bring you as close to the action as some rivals, in a way 60x digital zoom can’t make up for. The software experience in general has some rough edges, with far too many holdovers from the phone’s Chinese version. That’s a disappointment when fellow BBK brands Oppo and OnePlus have proven it’s possible to strip things back for a global launch. Actually getting hold of one in the UK could also prove tricky, as only Indian pricing was confirmed ahead of launch. Ultimately the more ready availability of rivals like the Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus and Oppo Find X5 Pro make for an easier recommendation – but if you can find it,

Modell:
