Design ist Geschmackssache, meinen Geschmack trifft das Sony XZ Premium nicht. Das Display-Rahmen-Verhältnis ist für mich nicht mehr zeitgemäß, ich bevorzuge das Designs des Samsung Galaxy S8+ und LG G6. Abgesehen davon ist das XZ Premium ein gutes Gerät, mit 749 Euro (UVP) aber teuer.

Das Sony Xperia XZ Premium hat eigentlich fast alles, was man sich bei einem aktuellen Flaggschiff wünschen kann. So punktet das Highend-Smartphone mit einem starken Prozessor, viel Speicherkapazität, einem guten Display, Kamera-Aufnahmen bei Tageslicht, die sich sehen lassen können sowie Schutz gegen Wasserspritzer. Zudem läuft noch die aktuellste Android-Version auf dem Xperia XZ Premium. Hinsichtlich der Ausstattung können wir im Test nicht meckern. Allerdings zeigt das Gerät bei Low-Light-Aufnahmen mit der Hauptkamera und vor allem mit der Selfie-Kamera Schwächen. Auch die Akku-Laufzeit könnte für ein Oberklasse-Modell besser ausfallen. Dank Akku-Spar-Modi lässt sich die Laufzeit aber strecken. Alles in allem ist das Sony Xperia XZ Premium ein echter Allrounter, der zwar kein Meisterstück ist, der aber einige meisterhafte Qualitäten besitzt.

So geht der Preis meiner Meinung nach absolut in Ordnung. Denn das XZ Premium ist Highend pur. Der 4K-Bildschirm ist kein Muss, erfreut aber das Auge und punktet beim Filme- und Serienschauen mit HDR-Qualität.

The Galaxy S8 offers largely similar features on all the main carriers for a few dollars less, making it out Editors' Choice. If you want to save some money, the upcoming OnePlus 5 looks like a promising alternative.

Modell: Da die meisten Hersteller ihre neuen Flagship-Phones auf der MWC 2017 vorstellen, überrascht es nicht, dass Sony mit seinem neuen Xperia XZ Premium diesem Beispiel folgt. Auf den ersten Blick, scheint Sony mit seiner Xperia-Produktlinie mit einem düster aussehenden Design in einer Zeitschleife stecken geblieben zu sein, doch lassen Sie sich von dem glanzlosen Design nicht täuschen. Beginnend bei der Hardware im Inneren ist das Xperia XZ nicht zurückhaltend. Es verfügt über Qualcomms neuesten Snapdragon 835 Prozessor, 4 GB RAM, 64 GB Speicher und einen großartigen 5,5 Zoll großen 4K-Display. Was sagen Sie zu 4K auf einem 5,5-Zoll-Bildschirm? Mit der extremen Pixeldichte von 807 PPI schlägt es sogar Apples iPhone 7, welches nur 326 PPI auf einem Bildschirm mit nur 1080p-Auflösung. Natürlich sagen Spezifikationen am Papier Durchschnittsusern nicht viel. Dennoch kann das Xperia XZ Premium diese mit seinem schönen Glas beeindrucken und sein Gehäuse aus Metall ist zufriedenstellend solide – einmal ganz abgesehen von seinem IP68-Rating. Der Nachteil von Sonys Materialwahl ist, dass das Xperia XZ Premium ein Fingerabdruckmagnet ist. Mit einem Gewicht von nur 195 Gramm ist es weder das leichteste noch das schwerste Phone, sondern gerade richtig.

Da es sich um ein Sony-Phone handelt, können sich User eine gleichermaßen beeindruckende 19-MP-Kamera erwarten, die Motion-Eye unterstützt, was die Bildverabeitungsleistung wesentlich verbessert. Zudem ist es beeindruckend, dass die rückwärtige Kamera die besten Zeitlupenaufnahmen unter Smartphones liefert. Zur Schnittstellenausstattung des Xperia XZ gehört ein USB-Type-C-Port, den man heute einfach haben muss, und – entgegen dem aktuellen Trend - eine normale Kopfhörerbuchse. Ein weiteres Merkmal der meisten High-End-Phones ist ein Fingerabruckleser für Sicherheit, was ein zusätzlicher Vorteil ist. In puncto Software ist am Xperia XZ Premium Android 7.1.1 vorinstalliert. Es handelt sich – abgesehen von einigen Sony-Media-Apps wie der Playstation-App um unverändertes Android. Das führt uns zum nächsten Punkt: Was die Multimedia-Erfahrung betrifft ist das Xperia XZ Premium so gut wie möglich. Seine nach vorne gerichteten Lautsprecher verbessern die Wirkung von Medien, sodass das Phone wie ein raffinierter Taschenfernseher anmutet. Sollten Sie stolzer Besitzer einer PS4 sein, kann das Xperia XZ Premium mit seiner PS4 Remote Play App für Sie Wunder wirken. Sie ermöglicht Usern ihre PS4-Bibliothek am Phone zu spielen. Allerdings sollten User sicherstellen, dass die Verbindung stabil ist – ansonsten leidet die Erfahrung.

Feature-Reichtum führt meist zu schlechter Akkulaufzeit. Ganz abgesehen davon, können hochauflösende Bildschirme und kleine Akkukapazität einen negativen Einfluss auf die Nutzbarkeit haben. Das gilt nicht für das Xperia XZ Premium. Sein wenig beeindruckender 3230-mAh-Akkus ist mehr als ausreichend, um das funktionsreiche Monster bei normaler Verwendung bis zu 8 Stunden und 15 Minuten mit Strom zu versorgen. Damit ist besser bzw. gleich gut wie die meisten Konkurrenten. Selbstverständlich sinkt die Akkulaufzeit bei intensiver Multimedia-Verwendung rapide. Insgesamt wird das Xperia XZ Premium seinem Flagship-Titel gereicht und Sony hat gut daran getan seiner Linie treu zu bleiben.

Serie: Sony's Xperia Z5 comes in 3 major versions, known as standard, premium and compact. The material choice is a very nice glass front and a back with metal construction wrapping all around the phone. Sony has always been recognized for having one of if not the best cameras on their phones. The Xperia Z5 features the latest sensor with 23 MP, 5520 х 4140 pixels, phase detection, autofocus, and LED flash. It is capable of video recording at 2160p@30fps, 1080p@60fps, and 720p@120fps with HDR function available. All 3 versions come with the new fingerprint sensor, which is placed at the side of the phone where the power button is. Another great design of the phone is its stereo front facing speakers. The Xperia Z5 phones are IP68 certified, i.e. dust proof and water resistant over 1.5 meter and 30 minutes.

The compact version has a 4.6 inch 720 x 1280 pixels Triluminos display. Because of its lower price it is not as big and high-resolution than the standard model. The hardware of the Android OS, v5.1.1 (Lollipop) system includes a Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 consisting of 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 and Cortex A43 Quad Core CPUs and an Adreno 430 GPU. The only difference of the compact model to the standard model is that it does not have 3 GB of RAM. However, due to its lower screen resolution it should have no problems with only 2 GB of RAM. The non-removable Lithium-Ion battery rated at 2700 mAh is smaller than the standard model's. Sony claims that it will last up to 2 days. In addition, this device comes with 32 GB of flash memory and the storage capacity can be expanded with a microSD by up to 200 GB.

SD 835: High-End SoC (System on a Chip) für Smartphones welcher Anfang 2017 vorgestellt wurde und einer der ersten Prozessoren in 10 nm (LPE FinFET Prozess bei Samsung) ist.
