Das Samsung Notebook 9 NP900X5N-X01US ist ein Premium-Ultrabook mit ganztäglicher Akkulaufzeit und einem Full-HD-Bildschirm. Das Samsung Notebook 9 ist ein wundervoll verarbeitetes Stück Technologie. Das silberne Gehäuse ist gänzlich aus leichtem Aluminium gebaut und wirkt dank der einfachen Eigenschaften, sauberen Kurven, und einem angenehmen Tipperlebnis professionell. Im Inneren werkt ein leistungsstarker Intel Core i7-7500U Prozessor. Diese Zweikern-Einheit hat eine Grundtaktfrequenz von 2,7 GHz und einen maximalen Geschwindigkeitsschub von 3,5 GHz, noch dazu ist es mit 4 Megabyte Cache ausgerüstet. Wie von einem Intel-Prozessor der siebten Generation zu erwarten, ist die Leistung erstklassig. Im Laptop ist auch eine dedizierte Grafikkarte verbaut, nämlich die NVIDIA GeForce 940MX GPU. Obwohl sie relativ besser als eine Onboard-Videokarte ist, sollten Nutzer nicht erwarten, dass allzu viele Spiele bei maximalen Einstellungen flüssig laufen werden. Online-Multiplayer, wie etwa CS: GO, LoL und andere, werden allerdings problemlos dargestellt. Das Samsung Notebook 9 NP900X5N-X01US ist mit genügend Systemspeicher bestückt, um jegliches Multitasking zu bewältigen. Um genau zu sein hat es 16 Gigabyte DDR4-Arbeitsspeicher, was für professionelle Fotografen genügend sein sollten, wie auch für mäßige Videoschnittprogramme, die Bearbeitung von großen Datensätzen, und viele andere Aufgaben. Das Samsung Notebook 9 bietet auch eine Hochgeschwindigkeits-SSD-Speichereinheit der neuen Generation, die vielfach schneller, energieeffizienter und verlässlicher als eine mechanische HDD ist.
Mit einer Größe von 1,5 x 34,8 x 22,9 cm (HBT) und einem Gewicht von nur 1,2 kg ist das neue Book 9 schlank und leicht, aber dennoch beachtlich stabil, dank des Aluminium-Gehäuses und verbesserter Tastatur, die diesem sehr mobilen Ultrabook ein hochwertiges Gefühl verleiht. Die eleganten Kurven wurden früheren Modellen entliehen, das Farbschema ist weiterhin heller Titan, doch der Bildschirmrahmen ist etwas schmaler. Das Resultat ist ein leichterer Laptop mit einem 15,6-Zoll-IPS-Display in einem ähnlich großem Gehäuse. Der Bildschirm mit 350 nit ist genügend hell und klar. Die einfache Full-HD-Auflösung hat einige Vorteile, vor allem verbesserte Energieeffizienz, wodurch die Akkulaufzeit um Stunden verlängert wird. Die hintergrundbeleuchtete Tastatur ist dezent geformt, und die einzelnen Tasten wurden mit einem angenehm matten Finish versehen. Wie zu erwarten ist Tippen bei schlechten Lichtverhältnissen dank der Hintergrundbeleuchtung kein Problem. In Sachen Konnektivität bietet das Notebook mehrere Anschlüsse: einmal USB Typ C, einmal USB 3.0, mehrfach USB 2.0. Die Typ-C-Schnittstelle unterstützt 4-K-Bildschirme und schnelles Aufladen, und befindet sich neben dem HDMI-Anschluss. Um ins Internet zu kommen, muss man sich aufgrund einer fehlenden RJ-45-Schnittstelle auf Intels Wireless-AC 8260 verlassen. Es unterstützt den 2×2 802.11ac-Standard und Bluetooth 4.1. Das Samsung Notebook 9 ist ein guter Laptop für jene, die höhere Spezifikationen und ordentliche Tragbarkeit benötigen. Dem Design fehlt die Einzigartigkeit älterer Samsung-Ultrabooks, doch das generische Ultrabook-Design sieht trotzdem gut aus.

I will say, for those who really rely on a backlit keyboard. Go check it out before you buy, the keyboard is great to type on but you really need to see the backlighting ahead of time. If that is the one thing you really need to be spot on, that may make or break your decision. It’s really something you need to test for yourself because my brightness preference may be different from yours.

I have few complaints about its performance and battery life, and in general it has been a reliable little workhorse. It does, however, feature a handful of puzzling design decisions that could've been avoided had Samsung approached this machine more thoughtfully. And the S Pen, while surprisingly effective on a laptop, just won't be worth the premium for a lot of people. Samsung's penless 13-inch Notebook 9m -- also recently announced -- offers nearly everything this pen-packing model does for $100 less. Still, the Notebook 9 Pen has its niches: Students in need of an excellent note-taking machine will find a lot to appreciate here, as will folks who crave sheer portability. If that's not you, well, you can do better elsewhere.

Samsung: Die Samsung Group ist der größte südkoreanische Mischkonzern und wurde 1938 gegründet. In der Samsung-Gruppe waren 2014 489.000 Menschen beschäftigt, und sie gehört zu den weltweit größten Unternehmen gemessen an Umsatz und Marktstärke. Der Name Samsung bedeutet im Koreanischen "Drei Sterne" und repräsentiert die drei Söhne des Firmengründers. Das Unternehmen wurde 1938 als Lebensmittelladen gegründet.
