Das Samsung N130 ist ein preiswertes und angemessen schnelles Netbook. Es leistet sich kaum Patzer, ist bis auf das zu weich eingestellte Display-Scharnier solide verarbeitet und kann auch bei der Software-Ausstattung durchaus mit anderen, teureren Geräten mithalten. Kleine Wermutstropfen sind der fehlende Bluetooth-Betrieb und der unwirksame Turbo-Modus, die aber nicht davon ablenken können, dass es sich beim Samsung N130 um ein solides Netbook für wenig Geld handelt.

Samsungs Einstieg in die Welt der Netbooks hinterlässt bei den Testern einen positiven Eindruck. Für einen Preis von 278,95 Euro können Nutzer kaum mehr erwarten. Einzig das Display besitzt eine zu geringe Helligkeit, um auch im Freien bei direktem Sonnenlicht problemlos zu arbeiten. Dafür ist die Anzeige matt, was wiederum Arbeiten im Freien ohne direktes Sonnenlicht erleichtert. Ansonsten ist das N130 gut verarbeitet, verfügt über gelungene Eingaben und bleibt in Sachen Lüfterlautstärke oder Wärmeentwicklung unauffällig.

Although an average netbook in all the specs, the Samsung N130 is enjoyable and comfortable to use and proves to be a sturdy reliable machine you can take out when you are on the move.

For the most-part I liked the trackpad; I found it responsive, of usable size and the buttons are on the bottom where they belong. The only issue I had was that there is little difference in the palmrest and the touchpad which makes finding the pad troublesome at times. It possible that both of these issues could be overcome with practice and in the case of the trackpad a bit of clear nail polish to mark the edge of the palmrest, but you may want to take a look at your typing style or practice before purchasing the Samsung N130.

We’re fans of the budget-priced Samsung N130’s ergonomics. However, when compared to the N140, which is only $50 more, it comes in behind in overall performance and—more importantly—battery life. If your budget is flexible, the N140 is definitely the better choice. If $349 is your sweet spot, however, you can also pick up a Toshiba mini NB205 running Windows XP, which has comparable benchmark scores and hours more battery life, for around the same price. Overall, the Samsung N130 is a decent netbook, but there are better choices in this price range.

Can this 10.1" netbook swim in an already drowning netbook market? With its already comprehensive netbook range, Samsung's N130 enters an over-saturated market. Thankfully, great usability, a long battery life and low price help it to stand out from the crowd. While the N130 has no truly standout features, its great usability and battery life at such a low price mean that it betters many of its more expensive rivals. In a market where low prices are key and yet increasingly rare, this makes it a true breath of fresh air.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 950: Integrierter (onboard) Grafikchip auf Mobile Intel 945GM/C/Z/ME/ML Chipsätzen und Nachfolger des GMA 900. Kein Hardware T&L (für manche Spiele benötigt). Für Spiele kaum geeignet.

3D Spiele sind auf diesen Vertretern nur in Ausnahmen spielbar, grundsätzlich sind die Grafiklösungen hierfür jedoch nicht geeignet. Office Programme und Internet surfen dürfte jedoch ohne Problem möglich sein.

Intel Atom: Die Intel Atom Serie besteht aus 64-Bit Mikroprozessoren für günstige und stromsparende Notebooks, MIDs oder UMPC. Besonderheit der Architektur, ist das die Befehle nicht wie derzeit üblich (z. B. Intel Core Architekture oder AMD Turion) "out of Order"  sondern  "in  Order"  ausgeführt  werden. Dadurch verliert man zwar einiges an Performance, jedoch spart dies Transistoren und daher Kosten und dadurch auch etwas Strom.

N270: Stromsparende und billige CPU mit schwacher Leistung und geringem Stromverbrauch.
