Die AMD Radeon Pro 460 ist eine mobile Grafikkarte basierend auf den kleinen Polaris 11 Chip von AMD. Sie wird als Aufpreisoption im 15-Zoll-MacBook-Pro von Apple verbaut (Late 2016) und nutzt den selben Chip wie die Radeon RX 460 (siehe für Benchmarks und Specs) jedoch mit allen 1024 Shadern des Polaris 11 Chip. Die Spitzenleistung wird von AMD mit 1,86 TFLOPS angegeben, wodurch sie deutlich langsamer als die RX 460 mit ihren 2,2 TFLOPS wäre. Apple gibt eine 130 % höhere Grafikperformance der RX 460 im Vergleich zur Radeon R9 M370X aus dem alten MBPr15 an.

Im Vergleich zu den schwächeren Radeon Pro 450 (Basis-Modell) und Radeon Pro 455 (Top-Modell), ist die Radeon Pro 460 mit 4 GB GDDR5 ausgestattet. Im Schnitt reiht sich die Radeon Pro 460 in Spielen unter Windows knapp oberhalb der GeForce GTX 960M und unterhalb einer durchschnittlichen GTX 965M ein. Die ähnlich benannte Desktop RX 460 ist etwas schneller (knapp oberhalb der 965M).

Die mobile Radeon Pro 460 sollte alle Features der Desktop RX 460 unterstützen, so wie DisplayPort 1.2 (Polaris unterstützt eigentlich bis zu 1.4), HDMI 2.0 (via USB-C Adapter), neue H.265 Video-En- und Decoder und Architekturverbesserungen. Mehr Informationen zur Polaris Architektur finden sie hier in unserem Fokusartikel.

Der Polaris 11 Chip wird bei GlobalFoundries in 14nm FinFET produziert und ist der kleinere der beiden Polars Chips. Der Stromverbrauch ist laut AMD bei 35 Watt und dadurch deutlich geringer als die 75 Watt der RX 460.

AMD Radeon RX Vega 6 (Ryzen 4000/5000)

Die AMD Radeon RX Vega 6 ist eine integrierte Grafikkarte für Notebooks. Sie befindet sich in den Ryzen 5 APUs der 4000er Serie (Renoir, z.B. Ryzen 5 4500U, 4600U, 4600HS, 4600H), welche Anfang 2020 vorgestellt wurden. Im Vergleich zur Radeon RX Vega 6 der 2000er Serie (Raven Ridge), wird die neuere Vega 6 deutlich höher getaktet (1.500 versus 1.100 MHz Boost).

 Die Leistung ist abhängig vom konfigurierten TDP (12-54 Watt zum Launch), der Taktung im Modell, der Kühlung und vom verbauten Hauptspeicher. Von schnellem Dual-Channel DDR4-3200 Speicher dürfte die Grafikkarte deutlich profitieren.

Die Vega Architektur bietet einige Verbesserungen zur Polaris Generation und unterstützt nun z.B. DirectX 12 Feature Level 12_1. Mehr Informationen dazu finden Sie in unserem Raven Ridge Architekturartikel.

Die Leistung ist durch die höhere Taktung deutlich besser als bei der alten Radeon RX Vega 6 und kann in synthetischen Benchmarks sogar zu einer dedizierten GeForce MX150 aufholen.

Der Stromverbrauch ist dank 14nm Prozess und ausgeklügelten Stromsparmechanismen relativ gering (laut AMD) und daher eignet sich die Grafikkarte auch für dünne und leichte Notebooks.

AMD Radeon Pro 450

Die AMD Radeon Pro 450 ist eine mobile Grafikkarte basierend auf den kleinen Polaris 11 Chip von AMD. Sie wird im 15-Zoll-MacBook-Pro von Apple verbaut (Late 2016) und ist wahrscheinlich eine abgespeckte Radeon RX 460 (siehe für Benchmarks und Specs). Der Polaris 11 Chip wird bei GlobalFoundries in 14nm FinFET produziert und ist der kleinere der beiden Polars Chips. Die Shader wurden deutlich von den 896 Shadern der RX 460 (bzw 1024 der Pro 460) auf 640 beschnitten. AMD gibt nur 1 TFLOPS als "Peak Performance" für die Radeon Pro 450 an. Die 455 bietet 30% mehr, die 460 86% mehr. Die RX 460 ist jedoch mit 2,2 TFLOPS spezifziert und daher deutlich schneller als alle drei.

Ausgeliefert wird die Pro450 mit lediglich 2 GB GDDR5 Grafikspeicher, das bei Spielen zu wenig sein könnte.

In unseren Benchmarks mit dem Basismodell des 15-Zoll-MacBook-Pro reiht sich die Pro 450 knapp oberhalb der von uns getesteten GeForce GTX 950M Modelle ein (im 3DMark11). Die Treiberunterstützung von Apple und AMD für Bootcamp ist leider sehr schlecht. Im April 2017 ist weiterhin nur der Launchtreiber 16.4 erhältlich. Abhilfe schafft hier BootcampDrivers.com, bei denen man modifizierte aktuelle Grafiktreiber herunterladen kann.

Die mobile Radeon Pro 450 sollte alle Features der Desktop RX 460 unterstützen, so wie DisplayPort 1.4 (ready), HDMI 2.0b, neue H.265 Video-En- und Decoder und Architekturverbesserungen. AMD gibt derzeit jedoch nur DisplayPort 1.2 und HDMI 2.0 via USB-C Adapter an.

Der Stromverbrauch der schnelleren Radeon Pro 460 ist laut AMD Blog Post bei 35 Watt (Power Envelope). Die Pro 450 sollte dadurch etwas weniger verbrauchen, durch die geringere Leistung.
