Der Origin PC EON15-X bringt den Gaming-Laptop auf eine neue Stufe. Origin hat einen ausgewachsenen Intel i7 Desktop-Prozessor im Laptop verbaut. Der Laptop verfügt über einen Intel LGA 1150 Socket. Daher kann er mit einem Intel Core i7 4790K mit einer Taktrate von 4 GHz und einem Turbo-Takt von 4,4 GHz konfiguriert werden. Das ermöglicht Desktop-ähnliche Leistung zu einem ähnlichen Preis wie übliche Gaming-Laptops am Markt. Allerdings bringt der Desktop-Prozessor auch den größten Nachteil dieses Prozessors mit sich: seine Größe. Der 15,6 Zoll große Laptop wiegt 3,4 kg und ist 3,56 kg dick. Das EON15-X hat mit zwei Standard-Schnittstellen für SATA SSDs/HDDs, die bis zu 4 TB Speicher unterstützen, für zwei m.2 PCIe SSDs Platz und kann bis zu 32 GB RAM aufnehmen. Für Gaming-Grafik kann eine 970M mit 6 GB VRAM oder einer 980M mit 8 GB VRAM gewählt werden, falls 6 GB Grafikspeicher irgendwie zu niedrig sein sollten. Der 15,6-Zoll-Bildschirm weist eine Full-HD-Auflösung auf, was für einen ultra-hochwertigen Gaming-Laptop ziemlich niedrig ist. Einige würden sich eine 2K-Auflösung auf einen Laptop mit solch einer Spezifikation erwarten. Positiv ist das 16:9-Seitenverhältnis, das für die Augen und alle möglichen Arten von Medien besser ist. At this price, the EON15-X closes in on being competitive with the Alienware 15. Alternatively, opting for a GTX 970M, i5-4460 and 1080p gaming will get you below the $1,800 mark. Relative to its peers, that’s not bad.

It doesn’t offer “desktop-class” performance or any of that guff, it actually offers desktop performance in a laptop. Period. That makes the EON15-X a perfect laptop for someone who needs just that. But the costs are obvious. The battery life is pretty dismal (though no worse than what we've seen from other big gaming laptops, such as the MSI GT80 Titan SLI). The real snag for me is the screen. As I said, it’s almost, almost a deal breaker in brightness. Because battery life is already subpar, why not put a little more juice into the screen?

This is nice but the primary feature for the SSD is not standard and requires upgrading an already expensive system such that it costs over $2000. We love the build options too, as it has something for everyone and doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg; we also like the solid battery life and lifetime support from Origin. It does have only an average screen and a ho-hum chassis design, but if you’re just looking for a no-frills gaming rig that slips into your backpack, this laptop fits the bill nicely.

Origin PC: Es handelt sich um eine US-amerikanische Marke für Laptops und Desktops, vor allem für den Bereich Gaming. Es gibt nur wenige Testberichte, die ersten erschienen 2014. Die Bewertungen sind durchschnittlich.
Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870: High-End Grafikkarte mit DirectX 11 Support basierend auf die Desktop HD5770. Der 128 Bit Speicherbus ist nur mit (G)DDR3 ein Flaschenhals (deutlich geringere Performance). Mit GDDR5 Grafikspeicher ist die HD 5870 schneller als eine GTX 285M sein und daher schnellste Einkerngrafikkarte in Anfang 2010 für Notebooks.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M: Schnelle Notebook-Grafikkarte der High-End-Klasse aus der GeForce-GTX-900M-Baureihe. Basiert auf dem Maxwell-Chip GM204.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Mobile: Mittelklasse-Grafikkarte basierend auf Nvidias Pascal-Architektur und Nachfolger der GeForce GTX 965M. Wird im 14-nm-Prozess bei Samsung gefertigt und die technischen Daten entsprechen weitestgehend der Desktop-Version.
Diese Grafikkarten sollten alle modernen Spiele flüssig darstellen können. Anspruchsvolle Spiele müssen jedoch in mittlerer Detailstufe gespielt werden. Ältere und weniger anspruchsvolle Spiele wie die Sims Serie können auch in hohen Detailsstufen flüssig dargestellt werden.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Mobile: High-End Notebook-Grafikkarte mit 8 GDDR5X-Grafikspeicher und schnellste mobile Pascal-GPU. Verfügt über 2.560 Shadereinheiten und bietet ähnliche Spezifikationen und Leistungsdaten wie die Desktop GTX 1080.

Intel Core i5:
430M: Der Core i5-430M besitzt im Vergleich zum i7-640 nur 3MB L3 Cache und taktet zwischen 2.26-2.53 GHz (je nach Auslastung dank Turbo Mode). VT-d, Trusted Execution und AES Funktionen fehlen dem 430M jedoch. Durch Hyperthreading werden bis zu 4 Threads gleichzeitig bearbeitet. Im Package ist auch noch eine integrierte Grafikkarte (GMA HD mit 500-766 MHz) und ein Speichercontroller (beide noch 45nm Fertigung). Dadurch ist der gesamte TDP von 35 Watt nicht sehr hoch.
Intel Core i7 (Desktop):
4790K: Auf der Haswell-Architektur basierender Quad-Core Prozessor mit mit integrierter Grafikkarte und DDR3-Speicherkontroller. Schnellste Haswell Desktop CPU bei Vorstellung Mitte 2014.
