That depends on whether you use Google Pay or any other NFC-enabled digital wallet. If you do then definitely steer clear and do not purchase but if you are after a decent mid-range phone (in the lower end of mid-range too) then it is hard to at least not consider.

The Realme XT marks the start of a new era of high-resolution cameras sensors. The first phone with a 64MP camera, it takes punchy, social media friendly images, even if doesn't quite give us enough reason to justify the high-resolution sensor. Backing the camera is a well-rounded hardware and software package that makes this one of the best smartphones in the mid-range segment.

Representing RealMe’s top tier offering in the market, the XT bundles together a lot of solid features for its price point. It looks to leverage its brawny camera and fast charging to appeal to buyers looking to maximise value or find a point of difference in this competitive price point. While buyers may have already seen a lot of what was on offer in its competitors, the RealMe XT ticks all the boxes and could pleasantly surprise users willing to make friends with the new kid on the block.

realme has been going on an upgrade blitz of late as their recent slate of models have crammed in a ton of features and upgrades that would usually have taken an entire year for more complacent competitors. Recently, they’ve released the realme 5 and realme 5 Pro which we had the pleasure to field test and which were the first in their line-up to have 48-MP quad cameras. Their latest phone the realme XT that was just launched in Malaysia takes things to the next level as it packs a whopping 64-MP quad camera.

The only thing that could divert potential buyers is that it’s price tag of Php 16,990 now puts it within striking distance of the flagship killers that are less than Php 20,000 such as the Xiaomi MI 9T and the Huawei Nova 5t. That and maybe the fact that they could possibly bring the X2 Pro over to the country. Take that with a grain of salt though.

Wrapping up the review, Realme XT is for people who want the best camera out of a mid-range phone. At P16,990, it’s surprisingly affordable. You get a premium design, good performance and battery, and great cameras for the price. Expect the package to be even better when ColorOS 7 arrives, as it’s said to be closer to stock android than the overly skinned UI that we have right now.

After spending some time with the Realme XT, we’re starting to see it as the upgraded version of the Realme 5 Pro. If you’re wondering which one to get, well, that depends on your budget. The XT is priced at PHP 16,990 (8GB + 128GB), which is PHP 3K higher than the Realme 5 Pro (8GB + 128GB). And for that price, you’re getting a nice Super AMOLED screen, Gorilla Glass 5, an in-display fingerprint scanner, a 64MP main rear camera, and a longer battery life.

Sad to say, we don’t have the official Philippine SRP for the phone yet but the price in India has it pegged at around Php 12,000 to start. Expect it to be a little higher in the country due to taxes and duties but, hopefully, they price it right so it can compete with its extremely tough competition.

Realme XT is a complete package for the price it comes at. It offers great performance, looks and feels premium when it comes to its design and most importantly, it comes with a Super AMOLED Display. It’s a value for money device and you get what you pay for. However, if you plan to buy this just for the 64 MP camera setup we’d recommend you to wait and watch out for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro. That’s all from our side you can have a looks at the Pros and Cons of the Realme XT below.

The Realme XT is a promising phone for someone looking at a power packed device in the Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 price segment. However, when it is compared to the Realme X, somehow, it doesn’t manage to stand tall despite flaunting superior specs on paper. The newer processor, 64MP 4-lens camera sounds great on paper but in real life usage the Realme X is a better buy. When compared to handsets from Xiaomi, Samsung and others in this price range, the Realme XT is a potent competitor.

The Realme XT is yet another solid addition to the company's smartphone lineup and now, buyers have even more choice in this segment. Choosing between the Realme XT, Realme 5 Pro (Review), and Realme X (Review) really depends on what you're looking for in a smartphone as you can't go wrong with any of them. The Realme 5 Pro and the Realme XT are very close in terms of specifications and features and between the two, we'd be inclined to recommend the Realme XT, if budget permits. With it, you get the newer higher resolution sensor and a glass back, which makes it feel a bit more premium.

Realme XT makes for an attractive option, especially with aggressive pricing. The phone is packed with features that make it an all-rounder, be it excellent cameras, big battery, good design and processor. There is no other 64MP camera phone on the market as of now so it would be unfair to really compare. But those looking for options can go for Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro and Motorola One Vision that come with 48MP camera sensors.

At this point, there are so many good Realme phones out there in the mid-range segment that make it hard to suggest just one. Realme has launched phones in quick succession that have more or less managed to impress consumers. The Realme XT looks like yet another winner. It offers a premium design and an attractive AMOLED display, but so does the Realme X. Interstingly, the Realme XT starts at Rs 15,999, which makes it slightly more affordable than the Realme X, which begs the question - which of the two phones should you spend your money on?

The Realme XT gets one of the easiest recommendations we've given - if you don't mind the notch and it fits within your budget you just can't go wrong with it. You'd be getting your money's worth and then some.

The Realme XT is a good phone on most counts. But if you are going for this smartphone only and only for the 64 MP camera, here's some news - don't. The 64 MP resolution lets you shoot large images which let you crop in if you just want a part of the image. But unless the conditions are really bright, cropping any portion will always have noise. The 16 MP camera will be your go-to camera for most use-cases and it does a good job. The megapixel war with digital cameras was over a long time ago for a reason. Smartphones are just playing the numbers game with megapixels as it gives them an added thing to brag about. While it's good to have, understand that it won't improve your photography in any remarkable way. Unless you want to take large prints of the photos you shoot, 64 MP isn't going to add any major value.

The phone comes really close to be a game changer. The 64MP camera is the key highlight of the phone, also, the Snapdragon 712 processor makes is a performer. If you get too much into the details, chances are you may pick a thing or two that may not be impressive about the phone or the photos it clicks, however, given the Rs 15,999 price tag for the base model, it's a steal.

At Rs 15,999, the Realme XT goes right into the mid-segment smartphone wars in India. And believe us, it is a hell of a battle going on out there. Its most prominent rival, of course, is the Redmi Note 7 Pro, which is looking a little long in the tooth, but thanks to its UI and excellent camera, chip, and design, remains a formidable proposition. Then there is Vivo’s Z series which uses the same chips and has a gaming focus. Samsung’s M30 remains a feisty veteran in this zone, and at the time of writing, is scheduled to get an update. Finally, there are Realme’s own 5 Pro and X, which are no mean performers. As we said, it is a gripping contest and the fact that the XT fits right into it should tell you how good it is. Dear mid-segment, we have a real(me) contender for your crown.

It is hard not to be impressed by what Realme has achieved in such a short span of time. The Realme XT is shaping up to be yet another stellar piece of kit. The phone should launch in India some time in September and while we don’t have an idea of pricing yet, we’re told that we should expect it to be highly competitive.

The company has not yet announced when it will actually launch this phone, and we don't know what might change between now and then. Our full review will have a lot more detail about this phone's performance, build quality, screen, battery, and of course value for money, so do stay tuned to Gadgets 360.
