Modell: Das Nokia 1 ist Nokias bester Versuch eines ultra-preisgünstigen Android-Smartphones. Das wahre Ziel des Nokia 1 ist es, jenen in Entwicklungsregionen, die aktuell ein Feature-Phone nutzen, den Sprung auf ein Smartphone zu ermöglichen, ohne das Budget zu sprengen. Das Nokia 1 ist klein. Es nutzt einen 4,5-Zoll-Bildschirm und eine dazu passende Gehäusegröße. Um die Kosten niedrig zu halten, muss das Nokia 1 sehr einfach zu bauen sein. Es versucht sich daher weder an einem ultraschlanken Rahmen noch groß am Platz sparen. Die Rückseite lässt sich abnehmen und Nokia verkauft eine Reihe an Xpress-On-Abdeckungen. Unter der Abdeckung befinden sich ein entfernbarer Akku und ein MicroSD-Kartenslot. Das Design ist einfach und sauber. Kunststoff, jedoch nicht billig. Althergebracht, jedoch irgendwie modern. Mit einer 5-MP-Kamera an der Rückseite und einer 2-MP-Frontkamera ist es unwahrscheinlich, dass das Nokia 1 einen Foto-Preis gewinnt. Sie funktionieren und User können Aufnahmen machen, die Teilen auf Social Media würdig sind. Die Camera-App verzögert etwas, doch sie ist funktionell.

Das Nokia 1 bietet einen MediaTek MT6737M. Das ist ein Cortex-A53 Quad-Core-Prozessor mit einer Taktrate von 1,1 GHz. Er wurde mit einer Mali-T720 GPU und 1 GB RAM kombiniert. Während es sich bei der Cortex-A53 um eine 64-bit-CPU handelt, scheint das Nokia 1 eine 32-bit-Version von Android zu nutzen. Das Nokia 1 ist mit 8 GB internen Speicher ausgestattet. Die Hälfte davon wird vom Android OS und den vorinstallierten Apps genutzt. Das heißt, dass User zirka 4 GB freien Speicher für Apps, Musik und Photos zur Verfügung haben. Erfreulicherweise können User via dem MicroSD-Kartenslot Speicher hinzufügen. Dieser unterstützt bis zu 128 GB. Android Go eignet sich besonders gut für die Nutzung von zusätzlichem Speichers und macht das Verschieben von Apps und Daten auf SD-Karte zum Kinderspiel. Das Phone nutzt einen IPS-LCD-Display und bietet daher gute Blickwinkel und angemessene Farben. Durch seine winzige Größe (133,6 x 67,78 mm) lässt es sich einfach mit einer Hand nutzen. Der Bildschirm des Nokia 1 ist funktionell und reaktionsfreudig, doch es mangelt ihm wegen seiner niedrigen Auflösung von 854 x 480 Pixeln an der Klarheit der Bildschirme in teurerer Phones. Dennoch ist er zum Lesen von Text, Ansehen von Bildern und Spielen von Games gut genug. Der Micro-USB-Port unterstützt kein Fast-Charging. Daher muss der User, wenn der Akku leer wird, geduldig sein. Der 2.150-mAh-Akku ist entfernbar. User können sich also einen Ersatz/eine Reserve kaufen, falls der erste Akku leer wird, und den leeren Akku leicht durch einen vollen ersetzen.

3D Spiele sind auf diesen Vertretern nur in Ausnahmen spielbar, grundsätzlich sind die Grafiklösungen hierfür jedoch nicht geeignet. Office Programme und Internet surfen dürfte jedoch ohne Problem möglich sein.
