There are a few minor criticisms. The haptics could be improved, and the fingerprint scanner is positioned slightly too low for comfortable access. The camera app, while functional, could benefit from a modernised, streamlined interface. But,in conclusion, for ₹23,000, the Motorola Edge 50 Neo offers excellent value. It is reliable, features a beautiful design, has a stunning display for the price, and is comfortable to hold over long periods. With flagship features like IP68 water resistance and military-standard 810H compliance, it's a top choice if you want a balanced Android phone under ₹30,000.

In the budget smartphone market, there’s rarely a device that can do it all. There’s one with the best camera, another with the most power, and an example with stellar battery life, but not one stand-out contender. Even as the general baseline of quality over the years has risen, still there hasn’t been one to rise above the rest. The Moto Edge 50 Neo isn’t that handset, however it comes closer than most. It has an interesting and practical design, good performance, solid battery life, versatile cameras, a great screen and is usable one-handed, which altogether is more than most can boast. It doesn’t have the best camera, or the fastest charging, but its laid-back software and accumulation of quality-of-life features make the experience of using it nothing but pleasant. If you are in the market for a cheaper handset, or certainly one that isn’t massive, then the Moto Edge 50 Neo should be at the top of your list. It is one of the best, and most balanced, handsets on the market today.

It’s not easy making a smartphone that stands out in the Android club these days. No one probably knows that better than Motorola which faces stiff competition from brands like Nothing in the mid-range market even as bigger players like Google and Samsung continue to dominate the high-end segment. The Moto Edge 50 Neo is a practical smartphone. It ticks all the right boxes, but is it the Android flagship you’ve been looking for? Probably not. However, it is a good lower-cost alternative to the Edge 50 and Edge 50 Pro. If you’re someone who likes hanging onto their smartphone regardless of the latest upgrades, the Edge 50 Neo would be a good choice because chances are that this phone will never wear an old look.

Overall, the Edge 50 Neo is a terrific choice if your budget is Rs 25,000. In fact, I’d recommend it over the Edge 50 Pro if a bigger display size isn’t a top priority. Whether it’s cameras, processor, or battery, the Edge 50 Neo proves to be highly reliable. The clean Android experience is also a big flex. However, Motorola still has ground to cover regarding timely OS updates, and it may take a while for users to enjoy Android 15 on this device. Additionally, the brand could consider adding its own version of Gen AI features, as OPPO has already done it in its mid-budget offerings. We have yet to see what the Lava Agni 3 can offer, which boasts similar specifications to the Edge 50 Neo but has the advantage of an additional display on the back. If these factors don’t matter, the Edge 50 Neo is an easy recommendation for users prioritising a clean Android OS and reliable performance.

So, is the Motorola Edge 50 Neo worth ₹23,999? If you prioritise a stellar display and a well-rounded camera system, the Edge 50 Neo offers fantastic value. Its performance won’t impress power users though, especially those looking for a gaming phone. The battery life is another area of concern, particularly when compared to competitors. However, if you’re willing to overlook those shortcomings, the Motorola Edge 50 Neo offers premium features at a reasonable price. Motorola has been on a relentless spree of phone launches in 2024, introducing a slew of devices across various price ranges.

The Motorola Edge 50 Neo makes compromises in all the right places for savvy smartphone shoppers on a budget who’d rather sacrifice style than substance. OS and security support for five years ensures great value for money. As a result, the Edge 50 Neo is hard to beat, especially when you still get the same great camera and other features as the standard Edge 50 while only taking a minimal performance hit.

This is the best compact smartphone I’ve ever held. If I had the choice, I’d trade my current one for the 12/512 version right now. And this is not just due to the hardware. Motorola realized that Google’s philosophy was dragging it down and chose to go against it. And I guarantee that because of this, many more people will happily say “Hello Moto” to their new smartphone. Perhaps even the Motorola Edge 50 Neo. I hope to be among them soon. The Motorola Edge 50 Neo is the best compact smartphone I've ever held. This isn't just due to its hardware. Motorola has recognized that Google's philosophy is dragging it down and has chosen to go against the grain. I guarantee that because of this, many more people will happily say "Hello Moto" to their new smartphone.

The Motorola Edge 50 Neo device delivered an average display experience for its High-end category. Helped by its good hardware, the device was capable of providing accurate colors in natural mode and a peak brightness at 1,612 nits, which is quite good for the segment. Despite those performance highlights, some software tuning issues were evident in all aspects of our protocol. In readability, the device lacks a high brightness mode, which affects the screen’s readability in a bright environment, particularly the darkest shades. Our testers saw no increase in the device’s gamma dynamic range that would have enhanced the dark shades. The Motorola Edge 50 Neo’s natural colors were accurate and well-rendered on the display.

The Edge 50 Neo is either a statement of Motorola's commitment to more compact mid-range phones that are fully-featured, or it's a quirk. Some of the specifications jump out – such as the high-refresh and ultra-bright display – while the waterproofing and the zoom camera see the addition of features that don't always appear at this price point. That makes the Edge 50 Neo something special. It's a mid-range device that stands out, with very little precedence from previous Neo devices. It offers great value for money and an experience and feature set that most simply can't at this price. On top of that, the vibrant colours and vegan leather finish just make it look great.

The Motorola Edge 50 Neo is a fantastic mid-range smartphone that users have been looking for a long time. Most other phones in this category have one good camera along with one or two useless lenses. Essentially, they have a single camera that is designed to look like more but that’s not the case with this smartphone. It has a proper triple-camera setup with a telephoto lens, and the camera performance is fantastic but that’s not the only thing good in this phone. The design, display, gaming performance, and even the charging capacity of the phone are quite good. Not to mention, the phone has support for both wired and wireless fast charging support, which is unheard of in the mid-range category.

The 50 Neo’s strength lies in its low light and portrait capabilities, which I was glad to find, are much better than the 40 Neo’s. However, while the 50 Neo is an improvement on the 40 Neo, it still has some of the same drawbacks. The ultrawide camera is still best avoided. Colour oversaturation and sharpness being overdone to the point where images look sort of fake was still a recurring problem. That said, the 50 Neo is still a pretty good choice, and I mostly enjoyed using it.

After years of trying, the Moto Edge 50 Neo is Motorola’s most accomplished small smartphone yet. It has a great display, powerful speakers, good battery life, a versatile camera system, fast charging, an interesting design and a price which won’t break the bank. But for a little more performance, or images that were the best in the price class, it would be a nearly perfect smartphone. For most people, it’s an incredibly solid choice, and one of the best mid-range Android phones on the market today.

If you manage to overlook the plastic build there's actually quite a lot to love about the Motorola Edge 50 Neo. For the price Motorola is asking, this is absolutely a well rounded mid-range Android, with a great combination of display and audio quality to satiate your media enjoyment. You also have a surprisingly capable chipset on board that can handle more demanding games. The phone is also pretty good at preserving the battery life, lasting for longer than some of its main competition and more expensive models. The camera system, which is important for many users nowadays, has not only become more versatile with the addition of a telephoto lens, but it also does pretty well across the board.

Unboxing the Motorola Edge 50 Neo smartphone, £50 more expensive than the Moto Fusion but with upgraded camera tech, gaming performance etc. This is one of the best compact (ish) phones at this mid-range price, but the Motorola Edge 50 Neo isn't quite perfect. This hands-on reviews whisks you through the main features and specs, hitting on speed, battery life, camera features and more. Motorola's Edge lineup has a strong presence in key markets around the world and offering a wide variety of phones with diverse feature sets is a big part of the reason why. This year's Edge 50 lineup is quite numerous, but the Neo seems like it has every chance of becoming the star of the family. It's the most compact, the second most affordable and yet it doesn't sacrifice virtually anything in terms of camera capabilities or screen quality. The IP68 certification and wireless charging are also still here, leaving the chipset as the only potential weak point. But without running our full sets of tests, it's too early to tell if the Neo and the vanilla are worth recommending. Still, we remain very optimistic about their prospects as we part ways and we hope to be able to share more about them in the coming weeks.

The Motorola Edge 50 Neo is the fourth (!) member of the Moto Edge 2024 phone family and it's leaked a lot this week. From the camera tech and gaming prowess to the battery life, here's what to expect from the Motorola Edge 50 Neo. Official launch should be in a month or so, stay tuned for the Tech Spurt unboxing and review! This mid-range smartphone will have serious competition in the Nothing Phone 2a Plus, OnePlus Nord 4 etc. However, the Motorola Edge 50 Neo is more compact, and boasts full IP68 water and dust resistance. You've also got a lovely stock Android vibe as usual. Performance will be limited for gaming, but shoul dbe more than good enough for everyday shenanigans. And the Dimensity 7300 is energy efficient, so hopeully you'll get a full day of use from a charge, no worries. The Motorola Edge 50 Neo also boasts upgraded camera tech vs the older 40 Neo. You've got a fresh zoom lens slapped on there, alongside the 50MP main and 13MP UWA shooters.
