Suffice to say, the Yoga 910 has enough flaws that it couldn't possibly rank as my favorite Windows laptop (that would be the Dell XPS 13 or maybe the Spectre x360 or Surface Book). Still, it has a lot to recommend it, including a thin and light design, good specs for the money, long battery life and a mostly comfortable typing experience. Oh, and a full-size USB port -- can't take those for granted these days.

There's a lot to love here, the Lenovo Yoga 910 is the slimmest, lightest and best looking Yoga in Lenovo's consumer line to date. It's rigid, well-made and that watchband hinge is as striking and functional as ever. This is a high-end Ultrabook with a price tag to match. The price isn't extravagant, especially because Lenovo and their biggest US partner Best Buy are prone to having frequent sales, but it's a little bit more than the competing HP Spectre x360 (which must be the thorn in Lenovo's side by now). The Yoga 910 is every bit as attractive and chic, and it adds the bonus larger display and a stunning 4K option. The laptop is fast and there are storage and RAM options to ensure its usefulness for several years. Our only caveat is the fan, which can be annoying. Perhaps Lenovo will issue a firmware update to address that.

Als Aktualisierung des Yoga 900, der vierten Generation der Yoga-Book-Serie von Lenovo mit 360-Grad-Scharnier, bringt das Lenovo Yoga 910 verglichen mit der Vorgängerversion im Wesentlichen keine großen Unterschiede im Design. Trotzdem bringt es bemerkenswerte Verbesserungen. Zum Beispiel wurde es dünner und leichter und der Hersteller hat die Größe des Bildschirm dank eines eleganten super-schlanken Bildschirmrahmens von 13,3 auf 13,9 Zoll vergrößert. Zudem sorgen der Kaby Lake Intel Core i7 2.7 GHz Dual-Core-Prozessor mit Intel HD 620 Graphics für beste Leistung in diesem Ultrabook. Der glänzende IPS-Touchscreen mit entweder Full-HD- oder 4K-Auflösung bietet Usern ein besonders Erlebnis. Wie TheVerge bemerkt, kann das Lenovo Yoga 910 als einer der besten Standard-Windows-Laptops für Jedermann gesehen werden, das mit HPs Spectre X360, Acers Spin 7 und dem altehrwürdigen Dell XPS 13 wetteifert.

1. Design

Von Außen sieht das 910 nicht viel anderes aus als das Yoga 900 vom vorigen Jahr, doch das ist kein Fehler. Dank seines stilvollen, durchdachten Aussehens kommt das Yoga 910 in die engere Wahl der best-aussehendsten Laptops am Markt, kommentiert GearOpen. Ähnliches berichtet MobileTechReview: "The CNC aluminum unibody construction is rigid, more so than the previous Yoga 900, and the finish now looks like metal rather than the painted-on finish of the Yoga 900”.

2. Display

Bei diesem Notebook kann der User zwischen zwei Bildschirmoptionen wählen: Full HD (1.920 x 1.080) oder 4K (3.840 x 2.160). Der Preis hängt natürlich von der gewählten Option ab. GearOpen berichtet, dass der Bildschirm des Yoga 910 mit 292 cd/m² ziemlich hell ist, jedoch dunkler als sein Hauptkonkurrent, das HP Spectre x360 (318 cd/m²). Daneben ist die Farbgenauigkeit beim 910 ziemlich stark, denn es erreichte eine DeltaE-Abweichung von 0,76 (diese Seite erachtet einen Wert von unter 1 als sehr gut). Wie MobileTechReview bemerkt bietet der 4K-Bildschirm lebendigere Farben und einen höheren Kontrast. Das 1080p-Panel wurde von AU Optronics hergestellt, während das 4K-Display von LG stammt und definitiv besser aussieht als das 1080p-Modell.

3. Tastatur und Touchpad

Laut einem Kommentar von GearOpen war es ihrem Tester beim Tippen auf der Tastatur, deren Tasten einen Druckwiderstand von 65 g bieten, möglich, auf den ersten Versuch 75 Wort pro Minute zu erreichen. “Unlike the silver keys on a silver frame of HP’s and Microsoft’s convertibles, the black smile-shaped keys on the Yoga offer more contrast. This makes the Yoga 910 look a bit less sleek to me, but I appreciated the contrast”, sagt PasteMagazine. Allerdings handelt es sich für MobileTechReview nur um eine für die meisten User ausreichend gute Tastatur, es sei denn man hätte eine besondere Abneigung gegenüber Tastaturen mit kurzem Hubweg. Allerdings bewertet TheVerge: "For the most part, the keyboard on the Yoga 910 is good. There’s plenty of key travel, their keys are well-spaced with a curved bottom edge that make them feel like they’re even bigger targets”. Zudem wirken die Tasten laut Meinung von TrustReview geeignet verteilt und im Allgemeinen konnte ihr Tester am Yoga 910 ohne schwerwiegende Probleme tippen.

4. Leistung

Das Yoga 910 verfügt über eine 2.7 GHz Intel Core i7-7500U CPU. Lenovo lässt Kunden die Wahl zwischen zwei Alternativen: 8 GB RAM und 256 GB PCIe SSD bei der Variante mit 1080p-Bildschirm oder 16 GB RAM beim 4K-Modell. Mit diesem kleinen Upgrade hat sich die CPU-Leistung verbessert, denn die CPU kann länger mit Turbo-Boost-Geschwindigkeit arbeiten, ohne zu überhitzen. Daher sollte man schließen können, dass der Intel Kaby Lake Prozessor der siebten Generation für eine bessere Akkulaufzeit sorgt und offensichtlich weniger Hitze entwickelt. "The Yoga 910 was never hurting for power. Even when the Yoga 910 had upward of 15 tabs in Chrome and a couple of HD Youtube streams playing in the background, I didn’t notice a hint of lag”, berichtet GearOpen. Auf ähnliche Weise sagt PasteMagazine, dass Leistung beim Yoga 910 niemals ein Problem war, auch nicht mit vielen offenen Anwendungen, Programmen und Browser-Fenstern. Das Yoga 910 arbeitet bei leichtem Gaming, Video- und Fotobearbeitung gut. Zudem verkündet TheVerge: “I’ve been running multiple apps and have kept an ungodly amount of both Edge and Chrome browser tabs open, without any problem”.

5. Akkulaufzeit

Was den Akku betrifft so bestätigt GearOpen, dass das Yoga 910 eine deutlich bessere Akkulaufzeit bringt. Im Laptop Mag Battery Test (durchgängiges Web-Surfen via Wi-Fi) hielt das Yoga 910 (mit 1080p-Bildschirm) 10 Stunden und 36 Minuten durch, was 2,5 Stunden länger ist als das Yoga 900 (7:57 Stunden) vom Vorjahr. Über die 4K-Variante sagt TheVerge, dass die Akkulaufzeit nicht ganz Lenovos Behauptung von 9 Stunden erreicht, doch dennoch gut ist. In ihrem in einer Schleife laufenden Web-Seiten-Test hat es mit 4K-Bildschirm 7 Stunden und 44 Minuten geschafft.

Laut GearOpen ist das Soundsystem, welches aus zwei unten sitzendenn JBL-Lautsprechern besteht, ziemlich gut und kann einen Raum mit Klang füllen.

Die Schnittstellenausstattung besteht aus einem USB-Type-A- und zwei USB-C-Ports, doch Thunderbolt 3 fehlt. Zudem ist ein Fingerabdruckleser an Bord, welchen man zum Einloggen in Windows oder für andere Dienste verwenden kann. Ein USB-Type-C-Port kann praktischerweise zum Aufladen des Notebooks verwendet werden. Allerdigns berichtet der Test von TheVerge, dass der Tester den hinteren USB-C-Port nicht zu etwas anderem wie Aufladen überreden konnte – und auch das funktionierte am besten mit dem mitgelieferten USB-C-Stromadapter und dem Kabel.

TheVerge berichtet, dass sich die Lüftergeschwindigkeit unter Aufheulen erhöhte, als der Tester nur einige Apps ausführte, welches zwar nicht furchtbar, jedoch hörbar war.

Im Allgemeinen meint GearOpen, dass das Yoga einen würdigen Konkurrenten hätte: HPs Spectre x360 ist noch leichter, bietet bessere Lautsprecher und Thunderbolt 3 und liefert eine fast gleich lange Akkulaufzeit, während sich die Wahl dadurch ergibt, ob man den größeren Bildschirm und die 4K-Auflösung des Yoga 910 schätzt. Und wie TheVerge kommentiert ist das Yoga 910 ein guter Laptop, möglicherweise sogar ein sehr guter, doch kein ausgezeichneter. “In the past the Yoga 900 series has blended a good mix of affordability with performance, but this latest iteration may skew things too far into the luxury category”, folgert TechRadar.

Zusammenfassend kann man sagen, dass die meisten User das Lenovo Yoga 910 wegen seiner Leistung als hochwertiges Ultrabook erachten. Das besondere Design einschließlich des größeren Bildschirms und des kantigeren Designs in Kombination mit dem Intel Core i7 Kaby Lake Prozessor der siebten Generation ergeben einen nahezu perfekten 2-in-1-Laptop. Im Besonderen berichteten User, die sich ernsthaft für diese Convertible-Serie interessieren, viel Positives über das Yoga 910. Lenovo hat das beibehalten, was User an der Yoga-Serie attraktiv fanden, etwa das Gehäuse aus Metall und das einzigartige, funktionelle Watchband-Scharnier. Ein weiterer bemerkenswerter Punkt am Yoga 910 ist sein großartiges 4K-Display, das nicht zu Lasten der Akkulaufzeit ging. PasteMagazine liefert eine gute Bemerkung zu diesem Laptop allgemein: “The Yoga 910 is a near perfect convertible for 2016 if you are willing to make some compromises”. Trotzdem hat das Notebook einige Schwächen. Beispielsweise laufen scheinbar pausenlos die Lüfter und der Hersteller scheint sich auf die Luxusklasse zu konzentrieren anstatt auf auf preislich leistbare Leistung. Dennoch ist das Yoga 910 wegen seiner besonderen Spezifikation ein großartiges Convertible von Lenovo. Schließlich kommentiert MobileTechReview, “There’s a lot to love here, the Lenovo Yoga 910 is the slimmest, lightest and best looking Yoga in Lenovo’s consumer line to date. It’s rigid, well-made and that watchband hinge is as striking and functional as ever. This is a high-end Ultrabook with a price tag to match”.

Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.
