It’s a modestly capable system thanks to the new Lunar Lake processor inside, but it’s not the most reasonable system. At $2,519, it’s incredibly expensive for a system that will force you to settle for mediocre performance and you won’t even get extreme battery life in exchange. While the hardware has a lot to love, so do plenty of other laptops, and they can deliver both increased performance and a lower price. The ThinkPad tax is real on this one, and I can only hope Lenovo quickly applies the same kind of massive discounts I’ve seen it tack onto just about every other computer it makes, until then, this won’t be the most sensible choice.

Meanwhile, its performance is more than fast enough for demanding productivity users, and while its battery life isn’t the best by contemporary standards, it’s much longer than previous generations of Windows laptops. But it’s also very expensive. That includes a spectacular OLED display, but other, less expensive laptops offer the same. Ultimately, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 should be on anyone’s list, but the price will mean that ultimately it’s ThinkPad fans who will appreciate it the most.

Die 140V verfügt über 8 Xe²-Architekturkerne, die mit bis zu 2.050 MHz laufen, und 8 Raytracing-Einheiten. Sie ist DirectX 12 Ultimate-fähig und unterstützt alle modernen Video-Codecs.
Diese Grafikkarten sollten alle modernen Spiele flüssig darstellen können. Anspruchsvolle Spiele müssen jedoch in mittlerer Detailstufe gespielt werden. Ältere und weniger anspruchsvolle Spiele wie die Sims Serie können auch in hohen Detailsstufen flüssig dargestellt werden.

Core Ultra 7 258V: Eine obere Mittelklasse der Lunar Lake Prozessor. Dabei handelt es sich um ein SoC für den Einsatz in Laptops und Tablets der schlankeren Art, das über 4 brandneue E-Kerne und 4 leicht verbesserte P-Kerne verfügt, die mit bis zu 4,8 GHz laufen, zusammen mit der vielversprechenden neuen Arc 140V iGPU und 32 GB integriertem LPDDR5x-8533 RAM. In diesem Display-Größenbereich gibt es kaum noch Tablets. Für Subnotebooks ist es dagegen das Standardformat.
Der Vorteil von Subnotebooks liegt darin, dass das ganze Notebook klein dimensioniert sein kann und daher leicht tragbar ist. Das kleinere Display hat noch den Vorteil wenig Strom zu benötigen, was die Akkulaufzeit und damit die Mobilität weiter verbessert. Der Nachteil ist, dass das Lesen von Texten anstrengender für die Augen ist. Hohe Auflösungen finden sich eher bei den Standard-Laptops.

Lenovo („Le“ vom englischen legend, novo (Latein) für neu) wurde 1984 als chinesische Computerhandelsfirma gegründet. Ab 2004 war die Firma der größte Laptop-Hersteller Chinas und nach der Übernahme der PC-Sparte von IBM im Jahr 2005 der viertgrößte weltweit. Neben Desktops und Notebooks stellt das Unternehmen Monitore, Beamer, Server etc her und hat sich auf die Entwicklung, Herstellung und Vermarktung von Unterhaltungselektronik, Personalcomputern, Software, Unternehmenslösungen und damit verbundenen Dienstleistungen spezialisiert.
