It's a fine choice for convertible shoppers watching their wallets, but if you can stretch your budget to $1,000 or a bit beyond, Lenovo's own Yoga 7i 14 offers a sturdier all-metal build and available screen and CPU upgrades in an even better midrange 2-in-1.

Finding the perfect mid-range 2-in-1 laptop isn’t easy. There are plenty of great models selling for over $1,000 like the Lenovo Yoga 9i and more budget models than you can count, including HP’s Envy x360. But finding a model like the IdeaPad Flex 5i isn’t as common, and while it isn’t a powerhouse, it still offers respectable performance. The display isn’t the brightest or most colorful, the responsive touchscreen makes up for much of this. Similarly, the sound is far from impressive, and its weight slightly limits the utility of the Flex 5i in tablet mode. However, considering the price tag, especially the $645 8GB model, the low points are easier to live with than they would be on a higher-end laptop. But as long as the downsides don’t seem like they’d impact your specific use case, the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5i 14 absolutely worth considering in your quest for the ideal mid-range convertible.

While the Flex 5i 14 has solid productivity performance, its battery life is a real hindrance. The display is bright enough and offers excellent contrast, but it’s greatly diminished by the poor colors. The build is a little flexible, and the LED distortion is a concern. At the sale price of $550, the Flex 5i 14 might offer the right combination for a budget-conscious buyer. But at $800, it’s blown away by some much better laptops.

Intel Iris Xe G7 80EUs: Integrierte Grafikkarte (in Tiger-Lake G4 SoCs) der Gen. 12 Architektur mit 80 EUs. Z.B. in Tiger Lake i5 CPUs verbaute iGPU.

Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.
