Bin freiwillig vom Samsung Galaxy S8 auf das LG G6 umgestiegen und das muss ja schon was heißen. Im Alltag macht das LG G6 einfach den runderen Eindruck. Keine komischen runden Displays, die regelmäßig nerven. Display und Kameras sind Top, Performance ohne Probleme und das für einen Preis zu dem man sich nicht beklagen kann.

Zuerst mal: Kauft doch was ihr wollt, ich bin nicht euer Papa. Aber ich persönlich gehöre zum Team G6. Das G6 hat für mich die praktischere Form. So ein Infinity Display sieht zwar super aus, aber hat einige Nachteile wie Spiegelungen und schlechteren Grip.

Eigentlich hat LG mit dem neuen G6 vieles richtig gemacht. Es ist schick, hat ein überzeugendes Display und die Kamera macht gute Bilder. Dennoch haben die Koreaner einen entscheidenden Fehler gemacht. LG hat wohl einen Fehler in der Preisgestaltung gemacht. Mit offiziellen 750 Euro nimmt es aus finanzieller Sicht in Anspruch, ein Oberklasse-Smartphone wie das S8 oder iPhone 7 zu sein. Dafür fehlt ihm das gewisse Etwas.

LG hat mit dem G6 einen sehr guten Nachfolger zum G5 abgeliefert, der dessen Kritikpunkte weitestgehend vergessen macht. Das Gehäuse ist dieses Mal sehr gut verarbeitet, Spaltmaße wie beim teilmodularen G5 suchen wir vergebens. Zudem ist das Gehäuse jetzt auch vor Staub und Wasser geschützt. Der Prozessor mag zwar nicht das neuste Modell sein, ist dafür aber immer noch sehr flott unterwegs.

Das LG G6 dürfte vor allem durch sein Display für Aufsehen sorgen, das an den vier Ecken vollkommen rund gezogen wurde, wobei die Rundungen noch stärker ausfallen als etwa beim Xiaomi Mi Mix, dem ersten Smartphone mit einem derartigen Design. Randlos ist das QuadHD-Display mit seiner Auflösung von 2880x1440 Pixeln zwar nicht, doch man versucht hier dennoch, den sehr schmal gehaltenen Rahmen in den Hintergrund treten zu lassen.

LG G6 ha rappresentato un cambio di rotta per la società sud-coreana che con LG G5 aveva puntato sui moduli ma, accorgendosi dell'errore commerciale, ha provveduto a modificare la sua strategia introducendo un nuovo design che ruota attorno allo schermo da 18:9 che rappresenterà il futuro ancora per diverso tempo in quanto questo formato sarà utilizzato su altri modelli che arriveranno in futuro (come LG G7 e anche oltre pensando anche a smartphone flessibili che potrebbero arrivare tra il 2019 e il 2020 a livello commerciale). L'idea è da premiare e una volta che gli sviluppatori ne avranno preso "il controllo" sarà possibile vedere app dedicate proprio a questo formato. Per quanto riguarda i difetti di LG G6 possiamo segnalare una ricezione non proprio ottimale nonostante le linee batteria ben visibili sulla sezione in metallo e anche una speaker che è buono ma non eccelso (pensando anche a soluzioni con due speaker stereo).

Four months ago I gave the G6 a 4.8/5 in my full review. Would I still give it such a high score today? The LG G6 is not a perfect phone (it never was). The more you use a device the more flaws you will find. If I had to give the G6 a new score, I would drop it down to a very respectable 4.5/5. The sluggish camera and bad battery life are my biggest issues today.

The G6 is LG's best phone. It's LG's best turn at design, best example of engineering as an art form, best in raw performance, and best in delivering a good experience across the board. It has so few weaknesses I can hardly think what they might be. You just might fall in love with the phone at first sight. The glass-and-metal chassis is classy and assembled brilliantly. It's a fine size and the screen will surely push all your buttons with eye-popping visuals. Water resistance has become a table-stakes feature for flagship phones and the G6 has it covered. I appreciate the 3.5mm headphone jack, USB-C port, wireless charging, and memory card support. Wireless performance was great, voice call quality is very good, and battery life is right where it needs to be.

Overall, the LG G6 seems like a very valid Android option this 2017. For one, its design has improved, especially with its big screen-to-body ratio. Additionally, its display is also great with its high-end 1440 x 2880 pixel resolution. It may not have the latest Snapdragon processor, but as of its time of launch, the newest processor from Qualcomm hasn't been spread out to manufacturers yet. Additionally, LG G6's Snapdragon 821 chipset is still quite the fastest processor used by the smartphones in the current market. On top of all these, the LG G6 is also equipped with a competitive set of rear cameras. Note that the LG G6 comes with a dual 13 MP primary camera. So overall, the battery life isn't the only thing that improved in LG's new flagship phone.

The LG G6 finally offers something smartphones should have been offering for a long time: an edge-to-edge display, so it's hard to argue with LG when it claims it's the best screen on a handset right now. Prices are yet to be confirmed but we can expect it to be in the £500-600 region.

Modell: Das LG G6 ist ein Smartphone, das von den besten Phones am Markt viele Elemente übernommen und kombiniert hat. Sein Design ist viel konservativer als beim Vorgänger. Es verfügt über ein versiegeltes Gehäuse, dass den entfernbaren Akku zugunsten eines größeren Akkus und einer wasserdichten Hülle aufgegeben hat. Das LG G6 wird von einer Kombination aus Glas und Metall bedeckt und verfügt über zwei, von einem Rand aus Aluminium gefassten, Schichten Gorilla Glass. Zwar nutzt LG an der Rückseite Gorilla Glass 5, doch seltsamerweise nur das viel ältere Gorilla Glass 3 an der Vorderseite. Dieses Phone hat nur einen sehr kleinen Rahmen. Der schmale Rahmen wurde an Ober- und Unterseite geschrumpft, um einen beeindruckenden Effekt zu erzeugen, wenn User das Phone einschalten. Das G6 misst 148,9 x 71,9 x 7,9 mm und ist damit in jeder Richtung kleiner als das G5. Das G6 wiegt 163 g, also 4 g weniger als das G5. Es ist in drei Farboptionen erhältlich: Mystic-White, Astro-Black und Ice-Platinum. In puncto Bildschirm kommt ein 18:9-Display (genannt ‘FullVision’) zum Einsatz, das von LGs eigener Bildschirmabteilung erzeugt wurde. Es übersteigt die QHD-Auflösung seines Vorgängers. Das ergibt mehr Widescreen bei einer höheren Auflösung von 2.880 x 1.440 Pixeln. Zudem nutzt es LCD-Technologie anstatt AMOLED. Der neue 18:9-Bildschirm ermöglicht LG gleichzeitig zwei Instagram-freundliche Quadrate am Bildschirm. Weiters ist die Unterstützung von Dolby Vision / HDR 10 für alle Arten von HDR-Inhalten beeindruckend. Das bedeutet, dass User extra Farben und Details, die in diesem Format codiert sind, in ihren Movies und somit eine ausgezeichnete Erfahrung auf diesem Phone erhalten.

Die Erhöhung der Akkukapazität von 2.800 mAh auf 3.300 mAh sollte jene erfreuen, die sich ein Phone mit langer Akkulaufzeit wünschen. LG spezifiziert, dass das G6 Qualcomm-QuickCharge-3.0-kompatibel ist und liefert dazu ein Ladegerät mit. Außerdem hat LG die Ladealgorithmen optimiert, um den Ladeprozess auf das Alter des Akkus und die aktuellen Temperaturen abzustimmen, damit sich die Lebenszeit des Akkus verlängert. In puncto Hardware ist das G6 mit einen Snapdragon 821 mit 4 GB RAM und 32 GB Speicher ausgestattet. Dank eines MicroSD-Slots kann die Speicherkapazität um bis zu 256 GB erweitert werden. Um der Hitze, die sich bei Verwendung anspruchsvoller Apps entwickelt, entgegen zu wirken, befindet eine Kupferplatte über dem SoC. Diese bietet eine Kontaktfläche für die Heatpipe, sodass die Hitze von Chip abgeleitet werden kann. Laut LGs internen Tests reduziert dies die Temperatur bei anhaltender Gaming-Last um 10 %. Die Kamera des LG G6 wurde gewissermaßen verbessert, ähnelt aber stark dem Vorgänger. Es handelt sich um die gleichen normalen Weitwinkel-Kameralinsen, doch diese lösen nun beide mit 13 MP auf. Der Haupt-Bildsensor bietet optische Bildstabilisierung und eine schneller f/1.8-Blende und liefert anscheinend eine wärmere Bildqualität. Der andere Weitwinkel-Sensor ist f/2.4. Wie beim Vorgänger sorgt dieses Paar für eine sehr leistungsfähige Kamera und liefert beste Photoqualität. Das G6 ist definitiv ein würdiges Upgrade des G5, doch es ist noch fraglich, ob es das Samsung Galaxy S8 übertreffen kann.
