KFA2 GeForce RTX 2070 Super WTF-Edition mit leistungsstarkem Triple-Fan-Kühler im Test
WTF?
Die GeForce RTX 2070 Super WTF ist, untypisch für KFA2, preislich etwas weiter oben angesiedelt. Dafür gibt es aber nicht nur eine einfache Grafikkarte von der Stange. Der große Triple-Fan-Kühler wirkt gewaltig und ist zudem leistungsstark. Das können wir an dieser Stelle schon einmal verraten und dank viel RGB-Bling-Bling kommt auch das Auge nicht zu kurz.Im Preisvergleich gehört KFA2 zu dien preiswerteren Vertretern im Markt. Doch mit der GeForce RTX 2070 Super WTF geht der Hersteller einen etwas anderen Weg und positioniert das Modell etwas oberhalb der 500 Euro-Marke. Um genau zu sein sind es 569 Euro die für den Kauf dieser Grafikkarte derzeit fällig werden. Die direkten Kontrahenten wie beispielsweise die Asus ROG Strix GeForce RTX 2070 Super oder die MSI GeForce RTX 2070 Super Gaming X Trio sind preislich aber noch weiter oben angesiedelt. Somit relativiert sich der Peis unseres Testsamples wieder etwas. Gleichwohl gibt es aber auch etwas preiswertere Grafikkarten auf Basis einer GeForce RTX 2070 Super. Diese haben dann jedoch schwächere Kühler und verzichten auf RGB.
Die KFA2 GeForce RTX 2070 Super WTF ist mit einem sehr ausladenden 2,5 Slot breiten Triple-Fan-Kühler ausgestattet, welcher die Hitze unter Last sehr gut weg befördert. Gemeinsam mit der Die KFA2 GeForce RTX 2080 Super WTF teilt sich die KFA2 GeForce RTX 2070 Super WTF das PCB, denn beide Grafikkarten nutzen den gleichen TU104 Grafikchip. Beim verbauten Kühler kommt überwiegend Kunststoff zum Einsatz. Zudem verzieren optische Akzente inklusive RGB-Beleuchtung die Grafikkarte. Die Backplate ist aus Metall gefertigt und dient gleichzeitig als passives Kühlelement. Als Highlight sind hier Sterne eingearbeitet, welche wiederum durch die schicke RGB-Beleuchtung sehr gut zu erkennen sind.
Im Vergleich zum Referenzmodell von Nvidia weicht die Grafikkarte optisch deutlich ab. Aber auch bei den technischen Daten gibt es einen Unterschied, denn der Boost-Takt des KFA2 Models ist etwas höher als bei der Founders Edition von Nvidia.
Die KFA2 GeForce RTX 2070 Super Work The Frames benötigt intern zwei Stromanschlüsse (6 Pin, 8 Pin). Mit 215 Watt ist der Energiebedarf genauso hoch wie bei der Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super FE. Extern bietet unser Testsample 3x DisplayPort und einen HDMI-Ausgang. Auf einen USB-TypC-Anschluss, welcher bei den Modellen von Nvidia vorhanden ist, wird verzichtet.

Unser Testsystem mit AMD Ryzen 9 3900X als Basis
Als Testsystem dient eine aktuelle AMD-Plattform auf Basis des MSI MEG X570 Godlike. Die CPU (AMD Ryzen 9 3900X) bietet eine gute CPU-Leistung und als Kühlung nutzen wir eine AIO (Be Quiet Silent Loop 280mm). Der 16-GB-Arbeitsspeicher stammt von G-Skill und taktet mit 3.600 MHz. Als Monitor nutzen wir den Acer Predator XB321HK. Dieser schränkt uns aufgrund der UHD-Tauglichkeit nicht ein. Ein großer Dank geht an dieser Stelle an AMD für die Bereitstellung der Testplattform.
Für die folgenden Benchmarks und Tests nutzen wir folgendes System:

Die Taktraten der KFA 2 GeForce RTX 2070 Super Work The Frames
Trotz des sehr großen und leistungsstarken Kühlers dreht KFA2 nur an einer Taktschraube, nämlich am maximalen Boost-Takt. Dieser liegt bei der KFA2 GeForce RTX 2070 Super WTF bei 1.815 MHz. Gleiches gilt auch für das Power-Limit. Dieses ist mit 215 Watt bei 100 Prozent identisch zur Founders Edition. Über das Tool Extreme-Tuner, welches von KFA2 bereitgestellt wird, lässt sich auch mit dieser Grafikkarte die Option 1-Click-OC auswählen, was den Basistakt um 15 MHz anhebt. In der Vergangenheit konnten wir aufgrund dieser geringen Taktsteigerung keine nennenswerten Verbesserungen feststellen. So auch bei der KFA2 GeForce RTX 2070 Super WTF. Bezüglich mehr Leistung widmen wir uns beim Thema Overclocking zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt.
Synthetische Benchmarks
Bei den synthetischen Tests rangiert die KFA2 GeForce RTX 2070 Super WTF auf Augenhöhe mit der Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super FE. Gegenüber der ab Werk übertakteten MSI GeForce RTX 2070 Gaming Z 8G kann sich unser Testsample hier im Vergleich durchsetzen. Gegenüber der Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Super FE muss sich unser Testmuster von KFA2 mit einem Rückstand von ca. 10 Prozent leben. Grundsätzlich kann die Leistung der KFA2 GeForce RTX 2070 Super WTF mit einer AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT mithalten. Je nach Test hat mal Nvidia und mal AMD die Nase vorn.

Spiele-Benchmarks
Wie schon bei den synthetischen Benchmarks zeigt sich bei den reinen Spieletests ein fast identisches Ergebnis. Beide RTX 2070 Super Modelle (Nvidia und KFA2) liegen wieder auf Augenhöhe. Gleichwohl ist die Spieleleistung im Vergleich zur AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT aber durchweg einen Hauch besser.
Die gemessenen Frametimes zeigen ein gutes Bild. Die einzelnen Ausreißer sind messbar, aber nicht spürbar. Ähnlich performte auch die Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super in unserem Test. Beim Belastungstest, für den wir The Witcher 3 (Ultra-Preset) nutzen, erreicht die KFA2 GeForce RTX 2070 Super WTF durchweg hohe Frameraten ohne an Leistung zu verlieren.

Die KFA2 GeForce RTX 2070 Super Work The Frames ist mit einem eigens entwickelten Kühler ausgestattet. Die drei 90-Millimeter-Axiallüfter schaufeln ordentlich Luft durch die Kühlfinnen und können die entstehende Abwärme sehr gut ableiten. Beim Frameverlauf konnten wir schon sehr gut erkennen, dass es hierbei keinerlei Probleme mit der Hitze gibt. Insgesamt muss der Kühler 215 Watt an Abwärme bewältigen. Wird das Power-Target noch zusätzlich erhöht, so steigt der Wert auf 240 Watt unter Last. Da der Kühler aber auch bei der KFA2 GeForce RTX 2080 Super WTF sollte es keine Probleme geben, wie sich auch im Test herausstellte.
Im Leerlauf zieht unser Testsystem rund 94 Watt aus der Steckdose, was im Vergleich zu anderen getesteten Grafikkarten mit unserem Testsystem etwas gleichviel ist. Beim Stresstest, für den wir FurMark nutzen, klettert der Energiebedarf auf 349 Watt. Durchschnittlich 380 Watt messen wir, wenn wir das Power-Target um 11 Prozent erhöhen. Damit einher geht auch ein stabilerer und höherer Boost-Takt unter Belastung. Der Kühler kann die höhere Leistung sehr gut kompensieren, wenngleich die Lüfter knapp 200 Umdrehungen pro Minute mehr ackern müssen. Positiv ist aber der passive Betrieb der KFA2 GeForce RTX 2070 Super WTF bei geringer Last. Die Lüfter erzeugen ein nicht aufdringliches Rauschen, was unter Last auch aus unserem Gehäuse hörbar ist.

Wer noch etwas mehr Leistung aus der KFA2 GeForce RTX 2070 Super Work The Frames herauskitzeln möchte, kann die Grafikkarte etwas übertakten. Mit dem Tool Extreme-Tuner hat man die Möglichkeit die Option 1-Click-OC zu aktivieren. Wir raten davon allerdings ab, da das Leistungsplus mit nur 15 MHz einfach zu gering ist. Lieber sollte man sich selbst an die Grenzen der Grafikkarte wagen, um das Maximum herauszuholen. Bei unserem Modell ließ sich die GPU um 150 MHz übertakten. Beim VRAM war sogar ein Plus von 1.000 MHz möglich. Im Benchmark konnten wir die Ergebnisse somit um 10 – 15 Prozent steigern.

Fazit - KFA2 ärgert MSI und ASUS
Dass KFA2 nicht immer nur im unteren Preissegment mitspielen möchte, zeigt der Hersteller bei der KFA2 GeForce RTX 2070 Super Work The Frames. Und trotzdem gelingt der Spagat zwischen Leistung, Ausstattung und Preis sehr gut, denn vergleichbar ausgestattete Modelle von MSI oder ASUS kosten mehr. Rund 569 Euro müssen zum jetzigen Testzeitpunkt für eine KFA2 GeForce RTX 2070 Super WTF auf den Tisch gelegt werden. Dafür gibt es aber auch eine optisch sehr ansprechende Grafikkarte mit einem sehr guten Kühler. Außerdem kommt jede Menge RGB-Beleuchtung zum Einsatz und die Backplate mit dem simulierten Sternenhimmel ist ein klares Alleinstellungsmerkmal.
Wer nur Wert auf die reine Leistung legt, für den ist die RTX 2070 Super WTF ebenfalls interessant, denn ab Werk bietet die Grafikkarte einen höheren Boost als die Founders-Edition von Nvidia. Im Test waren beide allerdings gleichauf. Positiv überrascht waren wir aber von dem Kühler, welcher zudem auch unter Last verhältnismäßig leise agiert.
Die KFA2 GeForce RTX 2070 Super Work The Frames ist eine schnelle Grafikkarte, welche auch optisch überzeugen kann.
Die Größe der Grafikkarte könnte aber bei kleinen Gehäusen zu Problemen führen. Hier sollte man sich unbedingt vorab informieren, ob diese Grafikkarte in das System passt. Wie immer muss sich jeder selber die Frage stellen, was man Spielen möchte und in welchen Auflösungen. Das hier getestete Modell kommt mit QHD-Auflösungen sehr gut zurecht und kann selbst aktuellste Titel mit maximalen Details flüssig darstellen. Wenn es dann in Richtung 4K-Auflösung geht, könnte es bei dem ein oder anderen Spiel schonmal eng werden. Die Spieleleistung der KFA2 GeForce RTX 2070 Super Work The Frames war im Test aber durchweg positiv. AMD kann momentan mit der Radeon RX 5700 XT nur bedingt mithalten. Die Spieleleistung schwankt hier von Spiel zu Spiel mehr als bei der GeForce RTX 2070 Super.
