Intel Core i7-3960X
Der Intel Core i7-3960X ist ein High-End Desktop Prozessor der Sandy-Bridge-E Serie mit 6 Prozessorkernen und 15 MB Level 3 Cache. Er besitzt keine integrierte GPU und ist mit einem TDP von 130 Watt sehr stromhungrig. Der integrierte Quad-Channel Speicherkontroller unterstützt DDR3-1600.
Die Leistung liegt bei theoretischen Benchmarks durch die 6 schnellen Kerne auch oberhalb der Ivy Bridge Consumerprozessoren. In Spielen, sind diese dank des leicht schnelleren Taktes aber eventuell minimal im Vorteil.
Das erste C1 Stepping der CPU hatte keine Unterstützung für die Virtualisierungstechnik VT-d, spätere Steppings jedoch schon.
