Der geradezu absurde Wettbewerb um das schnellste Smartphone ist in den letzten Monaten in den Hintergrund gerückt. Kein Wunder, mittlerweile sind bereits 200-Euro-Smartphones mit Octacore- und 64-Bit-Chips ausgestattet, da muss man sich im High-End-Bereich andere Alleinstellungsmerkmale suchen.

Was der Sinn dieses Huawei-Ablegers nun genau sein soll, erschließt sich mich zwar immer noch nicht, doch das Anliegen des Honor 6 Plus ist offensichtlich: Ein Spitzenklasse-Smartphone zu einem vergleichsweise schmalen Euro. Doch bereits die Designmerkmale des iPhone Klones light macht klar, wo gespart wurde, denn statt hochwertiges Glas gibt es nur dünnes Acryl und spärliche Aluminium-Applikationen.

Insgesamt bin ich etwas zwiegespalten, was das Honor 6 Plus angeht. Einerseits ist es ein grundsolides Gerät, das nicht viel falsch macht. Die durchwachsene Performance kann zum einen durchaus mit der Beta-Firmware zusammenhängen und auch, wenn dies nicht der Fall sein sollte, besteht immer noch die Möglichkeit, dass diese Probleme mit einem nachträglichen Firmware-Update behoben werden könnten.

Für 400 Euro kriegt man als Käufer des Honor 6 Plus viel geboten. Der 5,5 Zoll große Full HD-Bildschirm punktet mit seiner sehr guten Bildwiedergabe und lässt sich jederzeit gut ablesen. Sowohl die Frontkamera als auch die beiden Kameras auf der Rückseite knipsen farbenfrohe und detailreiche Aufnahmen, die zwar nicht an die Ergebnisse von Highend-Smartphones herankommen, sich aber in Reichweite befinden.

Rund 400 Euro muss man als Käufer eines Honor 6 Plus auf das Bankkonto des Händlers überweisen oder auf den Tresen hinblättern. Dafür bekommt man ein Phablet, das technisch zwar nicht ganz mit einem Galaxy Note 4 oder iPhone 6 Plus mithalten kann, dafür aber auch nur die Hälfte des Apple-Phablets kostet. Demnach darf man das chinesische Gerät durchaus als Preis-Leistungs-Tipp in dieser Kategorie ansehen.

Das Honor 6 Plus ist ein schönes Gerät, welches inzwischen auch offiziell für unsere Region vorgestellt wurde. Das Gerät fühlt sich absolut wertig an und wird aller Voraussicht nach für unter 400 Euro in der 16-GB-Version erhältlich sein. Für das Gebotene ist das in meinen Augen ein attraktiver Preis. Ich habe grundsätzlich nur an der Software einige Sachen auszusetzen gehabt.

We can say that we were pleasantly surprised by the device with its elegant design, thin body and glass back, as well as its capabilities. Speaking of capabilities, we are not only talking hardware here. Yes, there is an octa-core Kirin 925 processor which showed great results in our tests, but when it comes to software, we’re sure that you’ll find a lot functionality to play with. The rich settings menu, the useful pre-installed apps and the overall appearance of the interface very quickly made us forget about the Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS. As we expected, the 3600 mAh battery offered great durability. And, of course, we can’t forget the dual camera that offers highly detailed photos and some very interesting modes. We were also charmed by the display, which not only provided high resolution, brightness and contrast, but also won’t cause eye-fatigue because it doesn’t emit pulse-width modulation, and bloats with 100% sRGB coverage.

Overall for the price the Honor 6+ is a cracking phone, with a few caveats though, all falling under the “you get what you pay for” moniker. The short version is this, the hardware is good, the build and design is good, the camera is amazing and the software is a little lacking. As I mentioned earlier Honor really need to makeup for the lack of Lollipop and the huge upcoming awkward situation regarding Android M, they need to push Lollipop out sharpish and vow to never release a phone with out of date software ever again.

The Honor 6 Plus has some cracking specs for a sub-£300 handset – heck, these specs would be impressive on a phone around the £500 mark. This is part of what makes the Honor flagship so interesting. The Honor 6 Plus is a solid pick if you want a high-end phone without the top-end price. In everyday use there’s nothing too glaring to separate this phone from one a good deal more expensive. Real enthusiasts will spot where the Honor 6 Plus can’t quite run with the best, though. While generally powerful, the chipset is pretty dated at this point, the camera isn’t all that hot and it’s a shame the rear is plastic rather than glass.

Huawei Honor 6 Plus is a great phone and performs well in most departments. The battery life and the camera performance need special mention as they are both impressive. Considering the Honor 6 Plus houses the Kirin 925 SoC, the performance is at par with Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC. In terms of everyday performance though, you will not find the phone giving any issues such as lags or stuttering.

The Honor 6 Plus by Huawei is easily the best overall smartphone that I've reviewed in a while now, except the Moto Turbo. The phone offers good performance and the best Android camera that you can find today. The pricing could have been a bit more aggressive, but if you're looking for value in terms of camera, then go for it.

Three has announced that it has partnered with Three to bring the Honor 6 Plus to the UK on contract, which is great news as it's certainly a strong competitor to even the most premium smartphones, despite its lower price tag. We're not 100% certain on the UK price yet but the Honor 6 is just £249, so it'll be in the mid-range category and we're expecting a good contract price from Three.

Modell: Honor, Huaweis Untermarke, hat beständig großartige Phones zu einem sehr konkurrenzfähigen Preis herausgebracht. Das Honor 6 Plus ist das jüngste Mitglied dieser Familie. Es verfügt über einen 5,5 Zoll großen IPS-LCD mit Full-HD-Auflösung und einer Pixeldichte von 400 ppi. Damit reiht es sich im High-End-Bereich ein, jedoch unterhalb von geldbeutel-leerenden Geräten mit ihren 2k-Bildschirmen (2048 × 1536 Pixel). Das Phone hat ein Äußeres aus Kunststoff mit zwei Metallstreifen an der Seite, die ihm ein erstklassiges, metallisches Aussehen verleihen.

Die Rückseite ist mit Glas bedeckt und lässt das Gerät eleganter Aussehen. Sowohl der Lautstärkeregler als auch der Stromschalter befinden sich an der rechten Seite, wodurch man leicht die falsche Taste erwischen kann. Der Körper ist nur 7,5 mm dick und wiegt 165 g und vervollständigt die erstklassige Anmutung, die das Phone liefern möchte. In puncto Hardware verfügt das Huawei Honor 6 Plus über einen HiSilicon Kirin 925 Prozessor mit einer Taktrate von 2.0 GHz und eine Mali-T628 MP4 GPU. Es bietet 3 GB RAM und 32 GB internen Speicher. Die Speicherkapazität kann mit einer microSD-Karte erweitert werden.

Zudem ist das Honor 6 Plus eine sehr fähige Kamera mit einem Dual-Kamera-Setup mit 8-MP-Hauptkamera an der Rückseite. Das ermöglicht es nachträglich mit dem Fokus zu spielen und einige Features hinzuzufügen. An der Vorderseite befindet sich ein 8-MP-Kamera. Das Phone bringt Dual-SIM-Support auf 4G (Micro- und Nano-SIM). Das Gerät wird durch einen nicht-entfernbaren 3600-mAh-Akku mit Strom versorgt. Der einzige Nachteil des Huawei Honor 6 Plus ist, dass es mit vorinstalliertem Android 4.4.2 KitKat zu einer Zeit ausgeliefert wird, in der Android 5.0 bereits in Billig-Geräten weit verbreitet ist.

Diese Karten können nur sehr alte und sehr anspruchslose 3D Spiele flüssig darstellen.  Anwendungen wie Office, Internet surfen, Bildbearbeitung oder (SD) Videoschnitt sind jedoch ohne große Einschränkungen möglich.
