Meine 100 Tage mit dem Honor View20 waren ein echtes Vergnügen. Mit seiner Zuverlässigkeit, Effizienz und Laufzeit ist es ein Smartphone, auf das Ihr Euch verlassen könnt. Trotz einiger kleiner Mängel bietet das Smartphone von Honor immer noch ein hervorragendes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis, zumal der Preis jetzt noch attraktiver ist, als bei der Markteinführung.

Das Honor View 20 bietet viel Licht und ganz wenig Schatten. Die Hardware ist aktuell, die Kamera am Puls der Zeit, das Frontkamera-Guckloch trendig und die Farbvariante traumhaft schön. Es bietet dir eine klasse Performance ohne Rucker und eine tolle Kamera, die mit und ohne KI-Nutzung tolle Bilder erstellt. Negativ ist, das trotz der Glasrückseite kein QI Charging möglich ist.

Der Tag ist mit dem Honor View 20 also überstanden und ich finde es hat sich ziemlich gut geschlagen. Es hat einiges an Schwächen, wenn ich mir den Vibrationsmotor, das Display und die Videokamera bei Nacht anschaue, aber kann auch wieder einiges mit der Kamera, Akku, dem Design und der Performance ausgleichen.

Ook kan de Magic UI, versie 2.0 alweer, behoorlijk onoverzichtelijk zijn, zeker wanneer dit je eerste toestel is van de Chinese fabrikant. Bovendien is het jammer om te zien dat er niet is geïnvesteerd in een ip-certificaat, waardoor het niet met zekerheid te zeggen is dat-ie een val in het water overleeft.

Die schillernde Rückseite mit Nano-Effekt sowie die Loch Notch machen optisch was her, der Kirin 980 sorgt für eine super Performance und die 48MP bietet sonst auch nur das Redmi Note 7. Beim Blick auf die Benchmark-Ergebnisse wird man feststellen, dass das Honor View 20 wirklich oben mitspielen kann. Das Kamerasystem macht zwar gute Fotos bei guten Lichtverhältnissen, insgesamt hätten wir aber etwas mehr erwartet. Die zusätzlichen KI-Funktionen der Kamera lösten im Test auch keine Euphorie aus.

Zu den Stärken des Honor View 20 zählt zweifelsohne die Gesamtperformance hinsichtlich anspruchsvoller Multitasking-Aufgaben. Käufer bekommen eine Hochleistungsmaschine mit schnellem Huawei-Prozessor und aktueller Software. Das Schöne an dem Gerät ist sicherlich auch der attraktive Preis, der sich deutlich von Smartphone-Überpreisen wie von Samsung und Apple, aber auch von Huawei, abhebt. Betrug der Kaufpreis des Honor View 20 für die Version mit 6 GB Arbeitsspeicher und 128 GB interner Speicherkapazität zum Start rund 550 Euro, ist der Preis mittlerweile unter die 500 Euro-Marke gerutscht. Das ist gerade mal die Hälfte von der unverbindlichen Preisempfehlung des Huawei P30 Pro. 128 GB in der Basisversion des Honor View 20 dürften zwar in der Regel für die meisten Nutzer ausreichen, dennoch ist es etwas schade, dass es keine Speichererweiterungsmöglichkeit gibt. Auch das fehlende IP68-Zertifikat, das dem Smartphone den Schutz vor Staub und Wasser bescheinigen würde, fehlt.

As for an IP rating, well, the View 20 doesn’t have an official certification so don’t go washing it under the taps. It is hard to find faults with this device, probably you could point out that it misses out on IP68 certifications and wireless charging or even SD card support. But these are not really deal breakers. Overall, we feel the Honor View 20 is superb package from Honor and a device worth buying.

I’ll be honest. I wasn’t really impressed with the Honor View 20 when it was unveiled. It seemed like another me too product form Huawei’s sub-brand simply trying to gain attention as being one of the first devices with a hole-punch display, but this phone is definitely a lot more than that. It delivers impeccable performance, outstanding battery life and a well-rounded camera experience all neatly wrapped up in a glitzy body. The choice between the 6T and View 20 ultimately comes down to how tolerant you will be of the Magic UI tweaks versus the nearly stock Oxygen OS from OnePlus (and perhaps where you live, as the Honor isn’t yet available in North America). After getting over the initial setup pains, I find myself at ease with Magic UI, and I’d personally favor the View 20 for its greater camera capabilities, prettier design, and subtly more agile responsiveness. The View 10 had gone toe to toe with the OnePlus 5T last year and this year it is the turn of its successor to do the same with the OnePlus 6T. Priced at Rs 37,999, the Honor View 20 is in the affordable flagship zone and while it does face challenges from the likes of the Asus Zenfone 5Z (which just got an Android Pie update) and the Poco F1, both of which sport flagship level processors, there is no mistaking that its real target is the OnePlus 6T. We will be doing a detailed comparison of the two devices in the coming days, but as of now, we can say that it definitely does enough to unsettle the Never Settler in terms of design, photography and battery life. If you are looking for an Android flagship without damaging your bank account too much, the View 20 definitely is an option – it scores heavily on design, packs in excellent performance has very good cameras (even though we expected more) and has a battery that goes on and on. We quite enjoyed the View. Pun intended.

Overall, the View20 is an odd device in terms of its target market. Honor’s marketing materials position the device against the highest flagships, such as the iPhone XS, Galaxy Note9, or OnePlus 6T. The one weak point where the View20 can’t compete with these devices is in screen quality. Even the OnePlus 6T which comes at a similar price range as the 569€ base price of the View20 outdoes it in the screen department, and here I don’t see the hole-in-display camera as some sort of competitive advantage that would give the phone any kind of higher worth price wise.

Honor equals a budget phone, right? Well, wrong. The lines between Huawei and Honor are really blurring here. This is a powerhouse of a phone for a properly reasonable price. The graphic performance with that Mali-G76 GPU is stellar, the 4,000 mAh quick-charge battery just goes on and on and that Kirin 980 chipset flies. It’s 75% faster on a single core performance basis compared to the previous generation but it uses 58% less power. Shocking. Let’s not forget, this is a CPU from Huawei. It’s their own kit. Even when I was playing graphic-intensive games it felt like the phone wasn’t breaking a sweat. Honor engineers have developed a trick bit of liquid cooling technology which dissipates heat incredibly well.

Modell: Das Honor View 20 ist ein High-End-Smartphone mit der ersten On-Screen-Front-Camera, die für eine unvergleichliche Bildqualität entwickelt wurde. Das Gerät verfügt über einen 6,4 Zoll großen FHD+-Bildschirm mit einem Seitenverhältnis von 19.25:9 und einem super großen Bildschirm-zu-Gehäuse-Verhältnis von 91,8 %. An der Rückseite sorgt die Nanoscale-Technologie für eine innovative “Aurora Nanotexture”, die Licht in einer V-Form reflektiert. Das Honor View 20 ist mit einem super-leistungsstarken Sony IMX 586 ausgestattet, welcher Fotos mit bis zu 48 MP aufnimmt. Das ermöglicht Usern Fotos auf größere Bildschirme zu projizieren oder Poster ohne Qualitätsverlust auszudrucken. Dank der ultraweiten f/1.8-Blende und verbesserter Lichtempfindlichkeit der 1.6 μm Pixelgröße können sich User über schärfere Aufnahmen unter schlechten Lichtbedingungen freuen.
