Für diesen Testbericht musste ich mich durch viel Gaming und Ai Werbe-Bla-Bla quälen. Als wäre AI Prozessor und AI Kamera nicht genug, gibt es obendrauf GPU Turbo und 4D Vibrationsgaming sowie obendrauf noch 3D Gaming Sound Effekte. Der 4D Vibrationsgaming-Effekt kennt man von Konsolen, aber leider unterstützt kein einziges Spiel im Playstore dieses Feature.

I have been very pleased with the Honor Play it is a great value device and will punch well above its weight particularly when gaming is the task at hand. My only real major complaint was that the screen is not good in direct sunlight and is un-usable when wearing glass with polarisation. Modell: Das Honor Play ist ein Smartphone, welches für Junge und Jungebliebene gemacht wurde. Dank seines GPU-Turbos sorgt es für dramatisch schnelles und flüssiges Gaming am Phone. Jeder Touch, jede Interaktion und sogar jedes Game wird beschleunigt. Zudem lässt die AI NPU (Neuron Process Unit) namens Kirin 970 intelligentes Gaming und Fotografie professionell wirken. Das Honor Play verfügt über einen Vollmetall-Unibody, der stark von der Designsprache des Honor 10 beeinflusst ist. Allerdings lässt es sich dank Verzicht auf eine Rückseite aus Glas leichter in der Hand halten als das Honor 10, obwohl es mit 176 g etwas schwerer ist. Es handelt sich in Anbetracht des 6,3-Bildschirms nicht um ein besonders großes Phone. Das hat es dem 19.5:9 Seitenverhältnis mit dünnen Rahmen zu verdanken. Dafür gibt es an der Oberkante einen Notch, um die Frontkamera und anderes unterzubringen. An der Unterkante befinden sich ein USB-C-Port in der Mitte und eine 3,5 mm Kopfhörerbuchse sowie ein einzelner Lautsprecher rechts davon. Da es sich um den einzigen Lautsprecher dieses Gerätes handelt, klingt es nicht gut, wenn er abgedeckt wird. Der Fingerabdruckleser befindet sich an der Rückseite des Phones. Das mag zwar nicht attraktiv aussehen, doch er ist dort leicht zu erreichen und bedienen. Beim Bildschirm handelt es sich nur um ein Full HD+-Panel, doch die Bildqualität ist ziemlich beeindruckend. Die Farben sind gut und der Bildschirm ist dank einer Pixeldichte von 409 PPI klar. Zwar ist er nicht so gut wie Bildschirme der Samsung Galaxy Note 9 oder S9 Familie, doch für den Preis ist er großartig.

Honor kombiniert oft einen RGB-Sensor (Farbe) mit einem Schwarz-Weiß-Sensor. Das Phone nimmt Bilder mit beiden auf und kombiniert diese für ein bei weitem deutlicheres Bild. Stattdessen hat sich Honor hier für einen 16-MP-Sensor mit einer f/2.2-Blende und einen 2-MP-Tiefensensor entschieden. Der zweite Sensor dient nur für Bokeh-Aufnahmen und ermöglicht einige andere intelligente Features der Kamera. Daher ist Fotografie unwahrscheinlich so gut wie beim Honor 10, doch unter guten Lichtbedingungen ist die Leistung gut. Das Honor Play wird durch einen 2,36 GHz Octa-Core-Prozessor (4x 2.36 GHz + 4x 1.8 GHz) angetrieben und ist mit 4 GB RAM ausgestattet. Das Phone bietet 64 GB internen Speicher und die Speicherkapazität kann mit einer MicroSD-Karte um bis zu 256 GB erweitert werden. Das starke Kirin 970 Chipset führt eine unabhängige AI NPU ein, die viele AI-Smart-Applications schneller laufen lässt. Es handelt sich um ein leistungsstarkes Chipset, das fast mit Qualcomms Snapdragon 845 konkurriert, der von ausgewählten Top-End-Phones genutzt wird. Es sorgt für eine flüssige Erfahrung, wenn viele Apps am Phone offen sind und Aufgaben werden schnell erledigt. Insgesamt bewirbt Honor das Gerät als Phone für Gamer. Doch das Honor Play ist ein verlockendes Phone, ob User nun ein Gaming-Phone oder nur ein Phone mit hochwertiger Anmutung ohne hohen Preis suchen.
