If you wish to fully utilize the potential of the EiltePad 900, you have to spend more as everything else is an accessory. Be it the stylus, or the expansion jackets (the batteries for which are also an optional accessory and hence cost extra), or the dock that gives you an Ethernet port, a full-size HDMI port, VGA Out and four USB ports. Everything that makes the ElitePad 900 a great enterprise solution cost extra, in which case, you might just as well go for a Surface Pro instead. The only upside to splurging on the ElitePad 900 along with its accessories would be the fact that with this tablet, you’d get HP India’s warranty to back your purchase up whereas buying a Surface Pro from the US (as it isn’t officially available in India) wouldn’t come with an India warranty.

Also, I get the impression that manufacturers realised all too late that for tablet users running Windows 8 Pro in Desktop Mode, it's much less painful with a stylus. So it's surprising HP doesn't include one in the box. Ideally, HP should have found a way to integrate a pen into the tablet shell, Lenovo-style, but that would have messed up the Expansion Jacket design. These decisions are all about compromises and sadly for the PC industry, Windows 8 makes that all the more obvious.

HP ElitePad 1000 G2
Das HP ElitePad 1000 G2 ist ein Tablet das sich an Profi- und Business-User richtet. Mit nur 9,2 mm ist es knapp einen Zentimeter dick und wiegt nur 0,7 kg. Zudem bietet der 10,1-Zoll-Multi-Touch-Screen weite Blickwinkel und wird durch Corning Glas geschützt. Der 1920 x 1200 Bildschirm ist scharf und verfügt über knackige und lebendige Farben. Das Tablet leuchtet hell, sodass sich ein Außeneinsatz als problemlos erweist.
Das HP beherbergt ein Windows-8.1-Betriebssystem und ist mit Office Home & Student 2013 ausgestattet. Es verfügt über 4 GB RAM und einen Intel Atom Quad-Core-Prozessor mit einer, dank Intel Burst-Technologie, Taktrate von bis zu 2,39 GHz.
Das Aluminium-Gehäuse ist solide und stabil zu halten. Es verbiegt sich nicht sichtbar, wenn der Digitizer-Stift genutzt wird. An der Rückseite gibt es eine 8 MP-Kamera mit Blitz. Die 2,1 MP-Kamera an der Vorderseite ist für Video-Chats. Das dünne Elitepad-G2 bietet nicht viele Schnittstellen, sondern nur einen einzigen microSD-slot, eine Audio-Buchse und einen "System-Connector" als Docking-Port.
Die beiden Stereo-Lautsprecher an der Unterseite liefern hohe und mittlere Frequenzen mit überraschend großer Lautstärke. Der Akku hält bis zu 7 Stunden Web-Surfen durch.

HP Elite x3
Das HP Elite x3 ist ein produktives, auf den Business-Einsatz ausgerichtetes Smartphone für Geschäftsreisende. Dieses Gerät verspricht ihr "All-in-One-Computing-Device" zu sein. Technisch gesehen, kann es als Smartphone, Tablet und Computer fungieren, sollten Sie dies aus irgendeinem Grund benötigen. Mit einem Gewicht von nur 195 g fühlt sich das elegante Design gut in der Hand an. Highlights sind der metallische Teil an der Unterseite, der die schönen, laser-geschnittenen Lautsprechergrille beherbergt. Unter dieser Abdeckung befinden sich Bang & Olufsen PLAY Lautsprecher und Mikrofone mit aktiver Rauschunterdrückung für klarere Anrufe. Die Rückseite des Geräts bietet die Kamera, einen Fingerabdruckleser und das modernisierte HP-Emblem. Die einzige Farbwahl ist schwarz. Abgesehen von den kleinen Lautsprechergrillen ist das HP Elite x3 wegen seines dünnen Rahmens fast ausschließlich Bildschirm. Es verfügt über einen 5,96 Zoll großen Touchscreen mit 1.440 x 2.569 Pixeln, welcher dank einer Pixeldichte von 494 PPI scharfe Bilder liefert und durch Corning Gorilla Glass 4 geschützt wird. Wahrscheinlich gibt es nicht viele Menschen, die gerne ein 6-Zoll-Smartphone herumtragen, doch wegen seiner Bildschirmqualität ist es dies Wert. Das Microsoft-Windows-10-Gerät ist ein sehr ökonomisches Gerät, da es sich besonders in Kombination mit einem größeren Bildschirm für nahtlose Produktivität als nützlich erweist. Wie das Microsoft Lumia 950 und 950XL kann auch dieses Mobilteil an einen externen Monitor angeschlossen werden und so als Windows 10 Desktop genutzt werden. Für einfaches Entsperren bietet es einen Iris-Scanner. Es gibt zwei Varianten: Single-SIM und Dual-SIM. An Bord befindet sich ein Snapdragon 820 Prozessor, welcher aus zwei Kyro-Kernen mit 2,15 GHz und zwei Kyro-Kernen mit 1,6 GHz besteht. Für verbesserte Grafik ist der Prozessor mit einer Adreno 530 GPU kombiniert. Daneben ist das Gerät mit 4 GB DDR4 RAM und 64 GB internen Speicher ausgestattet. Die Speicherkapazität kann via microSD-Slot um bis zu 256 GB erweitert werden. Das HP Elite x3 verfügt über eine 16 MP f/2.2 Kamera an der Rückseite und eine 8-MP-Frontkamera. Weitere Features dieses Gerätes sind A-GPS, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 und ein USB-Type-C-Port connector. Für Akkulaufzeit sorgt im HP Elite x3 ein entfernbarer Lithium-Ionen-Akku mit einer Nenn-Kapazität von 4.150 mAh. Laut Hersteller soll der Akku bei voller Verwendung mehr als einen Tag durchhalten. Er wird via USB-3.0-Type-C-Port geladen und unterstützt zudem Qi und PMA als kabellose Charging-Standards. Wie andere auf Business ausgerichtete Geräte wurde das Elite x3 robust gestaltet und erfüllt die 810G Militär-Spezifikation. Außerdem ist das Phone bis zu IP67 wasserfest, wodurch es kleinere Unfälle mit verschütteten Flüssigkeiten und Regentage überleben sollte. Das HP Elite X3 ist für jene, die die Windows-Plattform bevorzugen, ein gutes Phone. Sein Hauptkonkurrent ist das Microsoft Lumia 950XL. Although we saw a prototype we're impressed with the HP Elite x3. It's a big on the large size but this means a huge battery to go with it and the other core specs largely match up or beat the Galaxy S7. Although we saw a prototype we're impressed with the HP Elite x3. It's a big on the large size but this means a huge battery to go with it and the other core specs largely match up or beat the Galaxy S7. With the docking station, dummy laptop and Windows Continuum the Elite x3 could be the best Windows phone we've seen.

3D Spiele sind auf diesen Vertretern nur in Ausnahmen spielbar, grundsätzlich sind die Grafiklösungen hierfür jedoch nicht geeignet. Office Programme und Internet surfen dürfte jedoch ohne Problem möglich sein.
