Bei meinem Fazit zu meinem Testmodell des Dell XPS 13 muss ich klare Worte finden: Ich würde keine der beiden QHD+-Varianten empfehlen. die Gründe dafür sind simpel, aber umso schwerwiegender: Windows hat noch immer heftige Probleme mit der DPI-Skalierung und selbst mit dem Core i7 läuft nicht jede Anwendung astrein.

Wir hätten uns die 400 Candela Helligkeit gewünscht, die im Datenblatt versprochen wurden, ansonsten finden wir keine Kritikpunkte und können das runde Gesamtpaket nur empfehlen.

Unser Fazit hiermit ist, dass das Dell XPS 13 Ultrabook das beste Notebook in 2015 bisher ist. Wir sind tatsächlich erst in der vierten Kalenderwoche, aber in den nächsten Monaten erwarten wir nicht allzu viele Updates von anderen Unternehmen. Erst zum Sommer auf der Computex in Taiwan können wir auch von Mitbewerbern ähnliche Geräte erwarten, aber wahrscheinlich auch dann zu nicht günstigen Preisen.

Also, the display has really thin bezels making it even more compact, while the keyboard remains big enough for comfortable use. The keys are big enough and you will barely see the difference from a full-sized one. The touchpad also has a great design with only one drawback – we’ve noticed some unresponsiveness when using two-finger gestures, like scrolling for example.

As much as I like the MacBook Air, its design has been surpassed by the XPS 13. It's smaller and lighter, and lasts nearly as long on a charge. Having tested both the $1,399 quad-HD touch-screen XPS 13 and the $899, nontouch 1080p version, I prefer the latter. As someone who mainly uses desktop mode in Windows 8.1, I'll gladly sacrifice the touch screen for 4 additional hours of battery life.

Dell did a great job with the XPS 13 9343. They created a compact and light laptop with a 13 inch display, fast hardware, good keyboard/trackpad and long battery life, and on top of all these, a laptop with very little flaws. On the other hand, the proper priced options lack a touchscreen, so if you're not a big fan of matte panels, you're going to have to pay a lot for a model configured to your needs. In the end, when I draw the line, the reviewed Dell XPS 13 model is a good buy. For me is a lighter, smaller, faster and longer lasting computer than my old ThinkPad. I’m loosing on ports and typing experience, but I’m gaining plenty, so I’m happy to make the switch. For everyone else, I believe the XPS 13 can be a solid option if you need a compact, well built and fast computer for everyday activities. It’s not without rivals, and I’m looking here and the Acer Aspire S7-393 and even the Core M Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro and Asus Zenbook UX305, plus the other devices that will be released in the future, including that rumored 12 inch Macbook Air. But it should face them all head-high.

Modell: Das XPS 13 ist ein brandneues Ultrabook, das mit einer Kombination aus leichtem Gewicht, großartiger Akkulaufzeit und einem Prozessor der neuen Generation zu den besten Angeboten am Markt gehören will. Mit einem Gewicht von nur 1,18 kg, ist das XPS 13 leicht zu tragen. Es sieht mit seinem Aluminium-Gehäuse und dem Kohlefaser-Innerem großartig aus. Das XPS 13 ist in einigen Konfigurationen erhältlich, wovon schwächere Modelle einen 13,3 Zoll großen FHD Infinitiy-Bildschirm nutzen, hochwertigere Modelle dagegen mit einem ultra-scharfen 3200 x 1800  Pixel Infinity-Touchscreen bei entsprechend hohem Preis ausgestattet sind.

Das XPS 13 nutzt einen M-Klasse Intel-Prozessor der fünften Generation, was verglichen mit der vorigen U-Serie ein großer Fortschritt ist. Wiederum kann zwischen verschiedenen i5 oder i7 Prozessoren und 4 oder 8 GB RAM gewählt werden. Die einzige Standard-Komponente ist die Intel 5500 Grafikkarte, die sich ausgezeichnet für Arbeit eignet, jedoch für Gaming suboptimal ist. Die Akkulaufzeit ist fantastisch und 12 Stunden bei mittlerer Last sind zu erwarten, wobei die Akkulaufzeit des Touchscreen-Modells kürzer ist.

Intel HD Graphics 5500: Integrierte Grafikkarte (GT2), welche in einigen Broadwell-ULV-CPUs (15 Watt TDP) verbaut wird.

Einige nicht anspruchsvolle aktuelle Spiele können mit geringen Details noch flüssig gespielt werden. Für Office und Video natürlich ausreichende Leistungsreserven.
