HP’s EliteBook Folio 1020 was stratospherically expensive when it first launched, but has since dropped in price to the extent that you can find it for significantly less than Dell is charging for its machine. Then there’s the Dell XPS 13. Several folk in the office have an XPS 13 as their business laptop, and as long as you can live without the security options of the 13 7370, it’s a cheaper, more powerful alternative.

Unfortunately, the performance of the Core M isn’t pleasing, and the battery life is not that good if you chose the QHD screen. Also, considering all the aspects, the laptop is kind of overpriced. Of course, there are faster, better and cheaper business laptops available nowadays. But, if you’re seeking a well built, compact laptop that packs enterprise features and enough horsepower to use it as a business laptop, the Latitude 13 7370 is surely the only choice right now.

It is incredibly well designed, with a beautifully slim carbon fibre body, measuring barely 14mm thick. The display is also stunningly sharp, while the laptop’s bezel is very, very thin. As an Ultrabook, the Latitude 7370 also crams in many of the latest features you would expect – 2 Thunderbolt Type C ports, for instance, as well as the speedy PCIe SSD. The Core m5-6Y57 is also passively cooled, which means the laptop is completely silent at all times, something which I value highly.

It's disappointing then, that the Latitude is powered by a processor more accustomed to value (and fashion) laptops and tablets. It's not like the Latitude is too thin to slip in full Core-series processors, which are already offered in the slimmer XPS 13. It results in an unnecessary compromise, and one that restricts the Latitude to being a fancy portable laptop designed for lightweight tasks rather than one that business users can depend on in any situation.

Modell: Da sich Ultrabooks in Richtung lüfterloser Designs entwickeln, ergibt sich für die Hersteller mehr Spielraum schlankere und raffiniertere Notebooks zu bauen. Das ist beim Dell Latitude 13 7370 offensichtlich. Wertigkeit geht nicht mehr mit Klobigkeit einher, denn Business-Notebooks sind nun so gebaut, dass sie sowohl in puncto Aussehen als auch Leistung punkten. Es ist nicht schwer, von der schlanken Konstruktion des Latitude 13 stark beeindruckt zu sein. Es ist noch schwerer zu glauben, dass es sich tatsächlich um ein Business-Notebook handelt. Seine Dimensionen belaufen sich auf 14,32 x 304,8 x 210,5 mm und es wiegt bloß 1,12 kg. Trotz des schlanken Profils wurden in puncto Robustheit keine Kompromisse eingegangen. Das Chassis, welches gänzlich aus Kohlefaser besteht, ist solide und stabil. In puncto Leistung wird das Gerät von einem energieeffizienten Intel Core m5-6Y57 1,1 GHz Prozessor mit integrierter Intel HD Graphics 515 Grafikkarte angetrieben. Die Wahl des Prozessor mag in Hinblick darauf, dass es sich um ein Business-Notebook handelt, verwundern. Das liegt wieder an der Möglichkeit, ein lüfterloses Modell zu erhalten und daher wurde Intel Core-m-Serie verwendet, da diese passiv gekühlt werden kann. Der 13.3-Zoll FHD (1.920 x 1.080 Pixel) IPS InfinityEdge Bildschirm ist unglaublich beeindruckend. Dells Versuch eines fast rahmenlosen Bildschirms schafft es Blickwinkelstabilität und Übersichtlichkeit zu maximieren. Sein einzigartiges Scharnier ermöglicht einen Öffnungswinkel von 180 Grad.

Die Hauptspeicheroptionen reichen von 4 bis 8 GB RAM und Massenspeicher steht in Form eines 128 GB SATA Solid State Drives zur Verfügung. Netzwerkverbindungen sind via 802.11ac Wi-Fi und Bluetooth 4.2 möglich. Die Soundqualität ist knackig und klar. Anschlussmöglichkeiten gibt es in Fülle, denn das Gerät ist mit zwei Thunderbolt-3-Ports ausgestattet. Diese sind nicht nur viel schneller, sondern auch viel vielseitiger, denn sie unterstützen USB-Geräte und die entsprechende Type-C-Buchse ebenso wie DisplayPort (zwei 4K-Bildschirme bei 60 Hz pro Port, bis zu drei Bildschirme insgesamt), DVI, HDMI, VGA oder externe PCIe-Geräte via Adapter. Das Latitude 13 ist zudem mit einem normalen USB-3.0-Port, einen MicroHDMI-Port sowie einer Kopfhörerbuchse ausgestattet. Für maximale Sicherheit ist ein Fast-Touch-Fingerabdruckleser an Bord. Zugegebenermaßen ist der inkludierte 34-Wh-Akku für ein Business-Notebook klein. Trotzdem bleibt die Akkulaufzeit dank der effizienten Hardware bemerkenswert. Das Precision-Touchpad mit Multi-Touch-Steuerung ist weit und empfindlich. Die Tastatur ist spritzwassergeschützt und bietet für eine Verwendung in dunkler Umgebung ein Hintergrundlicht. Windows 10 Pro ist vorinstalliert. Wegen seines Preispunkts könnten User versucht sein für leistungsstärkere Prozessoren zu optieren. Trotzdem ist das Latitude 13 ein beachtenswertes Business-Notebook.
