Das Asus Transformer Book T100TA ist ein mangelhaftes Windows-Tablet, das bei erneuter Nutzung nach dem Herunterfahren häufig abstürzt. Es hat ein großes, aber nur befriedigendes und recht geringauflösendes Display, das gerade bei der Darstellung von Text Schwächen offenbart. Sein Prozessor besitzt vier Kerne, die Taktfrequenz ist aber relativ gering. Dennoch bietet das Gerät sehr viel Rechenleistung. Der Arbeitsspeicher ist 2 Gigabyte groß, auf dem internen Speicher sind 36 GB frei – er lässt sich um bis zu 128 GB erweitern. Das Tablet eignet sich sehr gut zum Surfen und gut zum Mailen, Nutzen von Büroanwendungen und zum Abspielen von Mediendateien – solange das Gerät nicht abstürzt. Der Akku ist gut. Das Tablet ist nur in Kombination mit der speziell angepassten, physisch anbindbaren Tastatur mit Touchpad erhältlich.

We’re really impressed with the Asus Transformer Book T100. Its 10.1-inch scale works well as either a tablet or a laptop, even if the keyboard does feel a little squeezed up on initial use. It’s something that we got over, though, and given how responsive and bright the touchscreen is you might find you only want to dabble in Windows with your fingers instead. In context to the rest of the market it's a real winner. It might be a touch more cash than a Chromebook competitor, but the Asus has so much more to offer. The buttons are hidden behind the curve of the tablet so you can’t see them when you look from the front. It makes for a clean look, but they can be tricky to find by feel. On the left side of the top edge, you’ll find the lock button. Moving around the corner to the left edge there’s a volume rocker and a start button. The Windows logo in the center of the bottom bezel does nothing.

Das Asus Transformer Book T100TA-C1-GR ist ein weiterer sehr preisgünstiger Laptop-Tablet-Hybride von Asus. Es ist 10.1 Zoll groß und damit eines der größeren Tablets seiner Klasse. Das Transformer Book bietet eine Bildschirmauflösung von 1366 x 768 Pixeln, aber leider nicht echtes HD. Auf Graphics und Bildschirm passt am besten die Beschreibung "ausreichend". Letzterer hat einen ausgezeichneten Kontrast, weite Blickwinkel (178 Grad) und gute Farben. Wenn nötig, kann das Tablet an eine tragbare Tastatur angeschlossen werden und als Laptop genutzt werden.

Falls es die Mobilität erfordert, kann die Tastatur abgetrennt werden und das Transformer Book wird zum Tablet. Das einfache Umschalten zwischen Laptop und Tablet ist sicherlich das wichtigste Verkaufsargument. Das Gerät ist mit einem Quad-Core-Prozessor von Intels jüngster Bay Trail Generation, 64 GB Festplattenspeicher und 2 GB Hauptspeicher ausgestattet. Ein schneller Vergleich mit anderen Tablets am Markt zeigt, dass diese Spezifikation kein Kraftwerk aus diesem Tablet macht. Sie ist für Basis-Verwendung ausreichend. Man sollte sich jedoch nicht erwarten, dass anspruchsvolle Software und Anwendungen laufen.

Insgesamt ist das Asus Transformer Book T100 in keinem Aspekt ein schreckliches Tablet. Die gebotenen Funktionalität, als Laptop und Tablet zu dienen, ist unvergleichlich und macht die fehlenden Rechen-Fähigkeiten mehr als wett. Das Asus Transformer Book T100 ist ideal für Personen, die ein Gerät für Web-Surfen und einfache Textverarbeitung suchen.

Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail): Grafikeinheit in den Tablet- und Notebook-SoCs der Bay-Trail-Serie. Basiert auf der Ivy-Bridge-GPU, unterstützt DirectX 11 und bietet 4 EUs.

Diese Karten können nur sehr alte und sehr anspruchslose 3D Spiele flüssig darstellen.  Anwendungen wie Office, Internet surfen, Bildbearbeitung oder (SD) Videoschnitt sind jedoch ohne große Einschränkungen möglich.

Intel Atom: Die Intel Atom Serie besteht aus 64-Bit Mikroprozessoren für günstige und stromsparende Notebooks, MIDs oder UMPC. Besonderheit der Architektur, ist das die Befehle nicht wie derzeit üblich (z. B. Intel Core Architekture oder AMD Turion) "out of Order"  sondern  "in  Order"  ausgeführt  werden. Dadurch verliert man zwar einiges an Performance, jedoch spart dies Transistoren und daher Kosten und dadurch auch etwas Strom.
