The iPhone 13 Pro Max is that rare phone that gets a 5-star rating from us. You get superior cameras and video recording capabilities — including the very compelling Cinematic mode and macro mode — blistering performance and a very responsive 120Hz display. Plus, the battery life is even better this time around and among the best we’ve seen from a 5G flagship. I also appreciate the slightly better 3x optical zoom and 15x digital zoom on the iPhone 13 Pro Max, the brighter screen and the slightly smaller notch. But I wish Apple could deliver faster charging, and I’d like to see a sleeker design next time around with the iPhone 14 with less of a camera bump and perhaps full-screen look. Some may simply prefer the iPhone 13 Pro because it’s smaller and lighter, as there are no other functional differences between the two handsets. But if you prefer a bigger screen, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is the closest thing to perfect you can get in a phone.

That said, the iPhone 13 Pro Max remains a photography, videography, and performance powerhouse. It’s a phone absent of glaring weaknesses and one that will serve even the most demanding users very well indeed. The software experience is also seamless enough to make the switch from Android without much hassle, should you be so inclined. Whether you should upgrade is the pertinent question. With only incremental improvements on offer from the iPhone 11 to 12 and now 13 series, there’s little compelling reason to spend $1,099 on the iPhone 13 Pro Max, unless your current phone is four or more years old. Especially as Apple is rolling out iOS 15 back down the range so quickly and so comprehensively. Likewise, customers with a relatively recent Android flagship can rest assured that they’ve probably already experienced much of what Apple’s best iPhone has to offer.

This makes the iPhone SE simply way too expensive to be worth it, especially considering that the only real upgrade you’re getting here is the Apple A15 Bionic chip which you can’t even use to the fullest due to the hamstrung display and the crippled camera setup that the iPhone SE has. Even its 5G capabilities, something Apple highlighted a lot in its marketing material, can’t be used in Malaysia at the time being. It’s also worth mentioning that while the iPhone SE may be the cheapest iPhone available right now, the price balloons significantly if you plan to get more storage onboard. And considering that the base model has just a pathetic 64GB of storage on it, you’ll probably have to end up getting the higher spec options anyway. But at RM2,799 for the iPhone SE with 256GB of storage, you could be getting one of the plethora of Android flagships with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip under the hood for nearly the same performance, with better hardware everywhere else on the device too. Typically, the saving grace that the iPhone has is its great software support, where you can expect around five to six years of iOS...

Apple’s iPhone 13 Pro Max is so close to being a perfect phone that I’d argue, for the vast majority of users, it is well worth the extra cash. It has class-leading battery life, a stunning display, a brilliantly appointed camera module, and tons of amazing video editing and recording software built into it. As overall packages go, it really doesn’t get much better than this. For the average user, or those that don’t want to spend a fortune on their next phone, sure, the iPhone 13 is a great option. But if you want access to the best overall battery life, performance, and camera tech, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is the only game in town right now. Even compared to the iPhone 13 Pro, the Max model is superior – it has better battery life and a larger, more expansive display. Is the iPhone 13 Pro Max for everybody? No, but if you’re the kind of user that demands the best of the best and you don’t mind paying a little extra for it, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is an easy recommendation. And while it is expensive, you’ll be able to happily run this phone for the next six to eight years with little to no fuss.

The iPhone 13 Pro Max isn’t a huge upgrade over its predecessor. It’s an iterative update that keeps it abreast of the competition at the high end of the smartphone market, and it will keep Apple fans satisfied, especially those who are upgrading from an iPhone 11 Pro Max. And although the improvements are small, Apple must be applauded for making those small improvements in pretty much all the most important areas, with faster performance, a brighter, smoother display, superior cameras and longer battery life than the iPhone 12 Pro Max. The big question is, do you buy this phone or the regular iPhone 13 Pro in 2021? My answer to that question is that, for most people, the iPhone 13 Pro is the Apple smartphone to buy this year. However, if you absolutely must have the best battery life (the 13 Pro’s is still perfectly good) and a bigger screen, then you should consider paying £100 more.

Apple receives a fair amount of criticism for a lack of innovation these days, particularly from the Android side of the smartphone coin. The iPhone 13 Pro Max certainly won’t shake the hecklers, but I’d describe Apple’s approach as staid rather than shiftless. The company knows what works and the iPhone 13 Pro Max is an unadventurous but respectable continuation of that successful formula with just enough new twists to keep it near the top of the pack. Whether you should upgrade is the pertinent question. With only incremental improvements on offer from the iPhone 11 to 12 and now 13 series, there’s little compelling reason to spend $1,099 on the iPhone 13 Pro Max, unless your current phone is four or more years old. The iPhone with the biggest screen also delivers the biggest battery capacity of the range, meaning its stamina is epic. Its sheer physical size won't suit all, though, but if you want all the features and all the longevity then it's the ultimate choice - otherwise the Pro model offers all the same features in a smaller package instead.

The iPhone 13 Pro Max is undoubtedly the biggest and best iPhone yet. The 6.7in Super Retina XDR OLED display and its improved 120Hz refresh rate offer a significant upgrade over the iPhone 12 Pro Max, and the A15 Bionic at its core is unbeaten in benchmark results. Whatever you throw at this phone, it can handle it, be it hardcore gaming or on-the-fly video editing. There are also significant camera improvements on offer, particularly in the low light department. The f/1.5 aperture and larger sensor of the main lens, combined with sensor-shift OIS, offer incredible low-light photos that are comparable to those taken on the top-end Android smartphones, and it’s a similar story with well-lit images too. The introduction of ProRes video recording is a boon for professionals, but it’s Cinematic Mode that’ll steal the show for many. Battery life is another area that the iPhone 13 Pro Max excels in, boasting true multi-day battery life for the first time in iPhone’s history. It’s still slow to charge compared to the Android competition, but at 27W, it’s respectable.

The iPhone 13 Pro Max is up there with the best smartphones Cupertino has built, but if you don’t need a large display, the cheaper iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro might be better up your alley. Furthermore, if all you need is a gateway into the Apple ecosystem from the Android world, an older iPhone might be the better choice thanks to the lower price tag, seeing as Apple will likely still provide support for it in the years to come. In spite of all of that though, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is genuinely one of the best I’ve used, and is a standout choice for anyone wanting to do the switch to iPhone.

I like big phones, and I can not lie. If I wasn’t so Team Android, the iPhone 13 Pro Max would probably be my smartphone of choice. It’s overpowered and gorgeous as hell, which is just my style. And since I’m a content hoarder, I’d seriously consider the $1,599 model that I reviewed. Should you? No, you can probably get away with 256 or 512GB of storage. And just to take things further, a great many of you probably don’t need the iPhone 13 Pro Max –– you’d be just fine with the iPhone 13 Pro or even the iPhone 13. Before you do a double take, I said what I said. The iPhone 13 Pro Max kicked ass on just about every test we threw at it. It’s a multitasking/gaming/photography machine without question. And it lasted over 12 hours on our battery test. But the like the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, the iPhone Pro Max 13 is really for heavy duty users, not those of us who are just watching videos, trawling social media, reading books and texting, So who do I recommend the iPhone 13 Pro Max to?

If you want the biggest iPhone with the best battery life, then 13 Pro Max is it. It’s by far the best smartphone I have tested in 2021, and there were a lot of handsets reviewed. The only downside is the weight: iPhone 13 Pro Max is easily the heaviest phone I reviewed in 2021; 36g heavier than iPhone 13 Pro and with 30g more heft than the leading Android phone of 2021, Pixel 6 Pro. Despite this, I would still choose Pro Max over the Pro option because after two months of use the weight remains noticeable but not frustrating.

The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max mark the third year in a row that Apple released two Pro models. The phones have the same price as last year's 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max, and are loaded with updated cameras, a larger battery and an A15 Bionic chip. By packing the 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max with features many of us have wanted for years, including a display with a high refresh rate, Apple further defined the difference between its Pro and non-Pro phones. Three years ago, by comparison, the word Pro seemed more of a marketing term than an indication that the phone was any more professional than a regular iPhone. The 13 Pro is an important signal that there isn't just one iPhone that works for everyone. Unlike last year, both phones now have the same camera array and only vary in terms of size, battery life and price. The iPhone 13 Pro starts at $999 (£949, AU$1,699) and the 13 Pro Max at $1,099 (£1,049, AU$1,849) for 128GB of storage. For the first time, you have the option to get 1TB of storage on an iPhone.

Out of all the smartphones we’ve tested, the iPhone 13 Pro Max simply has the best camera, screen, and battery life, and so it’s very easy to recommend. But bear in mind that its size and weight make it awkward to handle, and the crushing cost means that it’s certainly no bargain even if it is the best you can buy.

The iPhone 13 Pro Max is a beast with Apple’s biggest screen, longest battery life and highest price. There aren’t many phones that can last more than 48 hours on a charge, particularly with top-class chips, cameras, a 120Hz screen and upwards of six years of software support. But all that size and power comes at a very heavy cost. Literally. The phone is just too heavy. If you’re an iPhone buyer looking to replace a worn-out handset, you can stomach spending over £1,000 and need it to last at least two days of use on battery, the 13 Pro Max is it. For everyone else there are better, lighter options.

The iPhone 13 Pro Max isn’t a huge upgrade on its predecessor, but it is meaningfully better in a few ways, most notably the battery and camera. Just as important to us is that the screen is even better than before, and the built-in speakers have been improved, too. That said, the standard iPhone 13 remains the best performance-per-pound choice in the 2021 iPhone range. The 13 Pro Max is undeniably better in every meaningful way, but a lot of what you’re paying for is the super-sophisticated camera that many users won’t take full advantage of. Even so, if you’ve got the funds and want the best, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is certainly that, particularly if you can pair it with a pair of AirPods Max headphones.

All of the above only helps to confirm the conclusions that here is a mobile that beats pretty much everything on the market, both in terms of camera, screen and overall user experience. About the iPhone 13 Pro Max, it can be added that it offers even longer battery life, just as the screen area is also larger. The downside is that it really only fits well with people with big hands. And then there is the price that is excessive!

Ok, to wrap up this review of the iPhone 13 Pro Max, Apple seems to have struck gold with the latest iPhones. But you know what, I am one of those people who reviews at least 30 Android phones a year. And switching back to an iPhone as an “Android” user means I still find Siri to be way inferior to Google Assistant which I am extremely used to. Plus, the whole “iPhones not having a type C port” shebang, especially in a country where 9 out of 10 smartphones users have an Android device is a pain in the butt. And yeah, we still gotta wear a mask so Apple’s Face ID could get annoying at times, so I just wished they had gone with a Touch ID integrated power button instead. Still and all, the iPhone 13 Pro Max has managed to stay so dear to my heart that it pains me to let go of this phone since I gotta shift to the Realme GT Neo 2 for its review now. I wasn’t expecting to be so wowed by it, but Apple has managed to do exactly that. All I can do now is hope that some upcoming Android phone manages to reignite a similar level of contentment and fulfillment as the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Or am I wishing too much?

Apple apparently cannot deliver fresh look and advance internals at the same time stretching the delivery over two-year cycle. Whether it is the RDN or inventive business model to blame, we must deal with it. The state of technology is accurately delivered to us in small, controlled portions for a lot of money. I don’t think we can expect any major breakthroughs under current regime. What we can do though is accurately plan our budget around this steady flow of improvements. Last year we paid for the looks and this year we are offered to pay for the hardware improvements. Apple used to be open about it when they had a refinement model year – “letter S upgrade”. Apparently, this naming is not good for the marketing and it’s now up to customers to decide which year is an S-year for them. I personally, like everything about the new iPhone 13 Pro Max except this archaic charging port we have been dragging for a decade now. It just can not keep up with all the modern improvements industry has to offer. ProRess support alone screams: “USB-C!”.

The iPhone 13 Pro Max is an extremely powerful phone with the best SoC, video camera, and ecosystem of apps and accessories. I personally find its size too unwieldy and uncomfortable to use long term, but this may not be an issue to you if you have large hands. I am 5’10” for reference, and I do not have small hands, and I still find the phone uncomfortable to hold and use regularly. The benefits of having a larger screen are clear, so if you really do want the most immersive iOS experience, I’d recommend going to a store and handling the iPhone 13 Pro Max in person to see if you can accept its heft. I’d recommend using it for ten minutes straight to see how it feels, as the discomfort doesn’t kick in immediately. Use it for a while, and you may feel the phone digging into your palm. If, like me, you find the iPhone 13 Pro Max model to be too big, the good news is the iPhone 13 Pro will offer almost the same experience, except battery life won’t be as epic.

Apple designs its own hardware, its own chipset, its operating system, and many of its applications, with each piece designed to work with the others. This design optimization means that both the iPhone 13 Pro Max and 12 Pro Max drain their batteries less when in use than many other devices. Now that Apple has furnished its new flagship iPhone with a 4352 mAh battery — a size that is comparable to those of other devices in its segment — it is little wonder that the 13 Pro Max has shown remarkable improvement in our autonomy measurements. We are now eager to see Apple bring out future models with faster charging speeds!

Interestingly, we would say the same thing about the iPhone 11 Pro Max, which has aged incredibly well, not least thanks to its large battery. For everyone else, especially those rocking the iPhone XS Max, the iPhone 13 Pro Max will be a revelation in battery life and a big upgrade all around. Android users who are curious about the iPhone 13 Pro Max should know that it's a bit bigger and bulkier than many Android flagships, and it doesn't have the periscope zoom lens of the S21 Ultra and others, but it opens up the door to the Apple ecosystem with Apple Watches, AirDrop, iMessage, etc. And for the first time in a while, it might actually have a battery life advantage.

These days we don’t use the phone much on a smartphone. We buy our smartphones for a plethora of uses in which the original use, that of making a voice call to someone, has been relegated to the sidelines. In fact, smartphones these days are so smart and powerful that many buy these devices primarily for other uses, often not even bothering to add a SIM card after the purchase. There are those who use the smartphone to the best of its ability, trying to push it to the limits as it keeps adding to their convenience and eases workflows. The Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max is aimed at this last set of users.

Of course, you might want to wait another year for the iPhone 14 before you decide upgrade from your current Apple phone

The iPhone 13 Pro Max features the biggest Super Retina XDR display in the iPhone 13 series but otherwise shares most components with the smaller iPhone 13, including the A15 Bionic chipset and the rear camera setup. The front camera hardware for selfie shooting is actually the same across all iPhone 13 models, including the iPhone 13 and 13 mini. A 12 MP sensor is coupled to a f/2.2-aperture lens that offers a 23 mm equivalent focal length.

The iPhone 13 Pro Max is the largest and most expensive model in Apple’s 2021 smartphone line-up and features a 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR display with 1284 x 2778 pixels resolution. Like the smaller iPhone 13 Pro, it is powered by Apple’s latest A15 Bionic chipset and comes with up to 1TB of internal storage. Both models also use the same camera setup that now comes with a larger sensor and faster aperture in the primary cam, compared to last year’s 12 Pro and Pro Max models. On the ultra-wide sensor, size remains unchanged but there’s also a faster aperture plus a PDAF autofocus system versus the fixed-focus lens on the iPhone 12 series. On the tele camera, Apple has increased the reach, and the models now offer a 3x optical magnification compared to the primary camera.

As with the iPad Mini, the smaller screen here subtly influences your behavior in ways that aren’t immediately obvious. Even though it runs the exact same software as the 13 Pro Max, the iPhone 13 Mini encourages more sporadic use for shorter periods just because it’s smaller and less immersive. If you can adapt your phone usage to fit, it’s great — and definitely better than last year. The same insight applies to the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Its gigantic screen also encourages a different kind of use — specifically more of it. But because it simply can have such a huge battery inside (and perhaps because it can vary the refresh rate of the screen), those behaviors don’t affect how long it lasts as much. Physics is physics, and the battery in the 13 Pro Max is physically huge.

The top version of the iPhone 13 Pro Max with 1 TB of storage costs 159,990 rubles. And once again I will advise you to take 256 or 512 GB, this is 119,990 or 139,990 rubles, respectively. But seriously, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is a very good flagship smartphone, and we all have yet to get to know it. In the second part, we’ll talk about photos, and I’ll tell you separately about the best accessories – about what I use myself. Apple has certainly improved upon last year's iPhone 12 Pro (Review) and iPhone 12 Pro Max (Review) in significant ways. The cameras are better, battery life has improved, and the 120Hz displays are much appreciated. However, these phones won't exactly blow anyone away. If you have an iPhone 12 Pro or even an iPhone 11 Pro, you probably don't need to upgrade. If you can find the previous generation on sale at a significant discount, that might work just fine for you. If you have no budget constraints and just want the latest and greatest iPhone, go ahead and buy one of these – the experience won't disappoint. If you don't have Rs. 1,20,000 or more to spend on a phone though, there's a lot to think about. Cinematic Mode and Photography Styles are available on the non-pro iPhone 13 models, and they aren't exactly features you'd need enough to base a buying decision on.

The best iPhone to date isn't perfect. It's got recycled looks and an eyesore of a notch, and it weighs as much as a phone and a half. The high refresh rate implementation isn't great in the early days, the powerhouse that is the A15 chipset tends to throttle a lot, and Apple still has work to do to put any meaning behind 'fast' in its 'fast charging' claims. Then there's the matter of iOS, which will forever remain a dealbreaker to some. But it's still the best iPhone ever, this 13 Pro Max. The display is properly gorgeous, and 120Hz support in apps will eventually pick up. Battery life is the longest we've seen on an iPhone and in its present state is among the best on a top-class smartphone. The chipset is plenty powerful to outpace anything even in its throttled state.

Each year, point by point, the Pro Max series improves its audio performance. In playback, the latest generation demonstrates a true skill for gaming and watching movies thanks to a rich and harmonious tonal balance, sharp dynamics, and impressive spatial attributes. It is also a very good companion for listening to a podcast or watching a movie before falling asleep, with its very well-tuned minimum volume. And as a recording device, the 13 Pro Max even outshines its predecessor(s) when recording in loud environments — which can prove pleasant at a time when concerts are coming back to town — and provides excellent audio quality to selfie videos.

Our Apple iPhone13 Pro Max test results clearly demonstrate major improvements over the iPhone 12 Pro Max in several key areas of display performance. But above all, the screen’s exceptionally smooth adaptation to changing lighting conditions in all use cases means that users will have a consistently pleasant viewing experience in terms of brightness, contrast, and color. The iPhone 13 Pro Max might not have the highest level of brightness when compared with its competitors, but the device more than makes up for this with its fine-tuned and excellent rendering of content.

If you want an iPhone with a 6.7in screen you have to pay a £100/$100 surcharge to Apple. Back in 2020 this extra expense got you a better camera and some other benefits, but this year all you get is a larger screen and the battery improvements that come from there being more space for a bigger battery. The better battery is obviously a bonus, but the battery life of the previous model was already excellent, so this isn't necessarily a strong reason to upgrade (unless you are an owner of an iPhone XS Max or iPhone 11 Pro Max). Those with older models will also benefit from 5G and if you are a gamer then the pro-motion technology will be a bonus - although we think non-gamers will hardly notice the pro-motion technology. Starting at £1,049/$1,099, the Pro Max shone with some real strengths in our test, it's just hard to recommend it other than to a very specific user.

The iPhone 13 Pro Max is in many ways the best iPhone Apple’s ever made. It has the biggest and best screen, a superb and industry leading camera system, a bigger battery, solid speakers, and more raw power than most people will ever need or use. But it’s also big, expensive and heavy. And this year, all the camera upgrades and a chunk of battery improvements come to the iPhone 13 Pro too. So if you want the best Apple has to offer, this is your iPhone. But first weigh up whether you could do with a little less battery life, screen space and strain on your hands – and £100 extra in your pocket – because this year’s iPhone 13 Pro is just as good.

The drawback is that Apple’s ultra-premium flagship can’t really be said to be on the cutting edge. Apple’s ProMotion display is late to the 120Hz party and it’s going to be many more months until third-party developers leverage the phone’s capabilities. The phone certainly isn’t the fastest at wired or wireless charging either. Likewise, Apple’s photography rivals are forging further ahead with long-range periscope and dual focal-length designs.

But the like the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, the iPhone Pro Max 13 is really for heavy duty users, not those of us who are just watching videos, trawling social media, reading books and texting. So who do I recommend the iPhone 13 Pro Max to?

From anything earlier, the advances in low-light image and video quality introduced with the iPhone 11 generation will change your photo and video landscape, so it's definitely worth stepping up. And the 13 Pro Max's battery life will make sure it's ready when you are. Speaking of which, the additional battery life makes the iPhone 13 Pro Max worth the $100 jump in price over the 13 Pro, in my opinion. And again, less intensely "pro" users will likely be just as happy with the standard iPhone 13 for $300 less, making it our Editors' Choice for the bulk of buyers. The iPhone 13 Pro Max lasts a whopping 34% longer than the iPhone 12 Pro Max, and 26 percent longer than the iPhone 13 Pro. It's really incredible how much Apple has done to improve battery life in recent years. Consider that the iPhone XS Max is only three years old, and Apple has more than doubled battery life while dramatically improving both performance and display quality. This is what you buy the iPhone 13 Pro Max for. It costs $100 more than the iPhone 13 Pro, already a very expensive phone. Apple’s 2021 iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max iOS 15 smartphones are on an “S” year, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a strong list of compelling improvements. Sure, they won’t bend in half like a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 or Fold 3, and the design is the same as last year (other than new colors and a larger camera array). But the iPhones bring significantly improved cameras with now class-leading night mode, Cinematic Mode videos (fun!), a variable refresh 120Hz OLED display and significantly longer battery life. Standard features include MagSafe fast wireless charging, 5G including mmWave, Wi-Fi 6, Face ID, 1200 nit max brightness displays and 128GB to 1 TB storage. Both the 6.1” Pro and the 6.7” Pro Max share identical cameras with wider aperture lenses, Sensor Shift OIS on the main lens, macro mode, Dolby Vision HDR video recording and more.

If you’re after the best iPhone Apple has ever made by a long way, then the iPhone 13 Pro Max is it - mostly down to having a genuinely long-lasting battery. You’ll need deep pockets, both literally and figuratively, to own this phone, as it’s big and rather expensive - but you’re getting a decent amount for your money. Some upgrades seem pretty minor - we struggled to get a lot from the new 120Hz ProMotion display and Cinematic mode will get quickly forgotten - but the low light camera is excellent, the power onboard outstrips any phone on the market for heavy tasks and it’s bound together by a cohesive user interface and app experience. Unlike last year, the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max vary by size, battery life and price, but both phones now have the same camera array.

Like I said at the beginning of this piece. The iPhone 13 Pro Max is an incremental update over the iPhone 12 Pro Max. The only exception is the main camera performance, where I find the iPhone 13 Pro Max making a bigger leap. But if you are out in the market for a new iPhone or are looking to upgrade your existing two or three years older iPhone, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is a very good choice. It is an expensive choice, though. The price of the phone starts at Rs 129,900 in India. But if you don’t mind spending this kind of money, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is also the best choice for you. It is definitely a better and more practical option than something like the Samsung Galaxy Fold 3. The only reason not to get it would be its weight and size, and if you are not sure of it, do check out the phone in an Apple store before you buy it. On every other count, it is the absolute best phone you can get in India.

But Apple has made some incremental and incredible changes to the iPhone 13 Pro Max, which makes it the best smartphone money can buy right now. If having the very best in all these areas is important, then this is the phone for you. In previous models, the Pro Max has offered camera improvements over the Pro version – from sensor-shift technology to longer lenses. That's not the case this year and it vastly benefits the Pro model. It's a sensible decision and one I pushed for in the past but it will be interesting to see if it affects sales of the Pro Max. I know I'd be more tempted to go for the Pro this year. Having another phone that's almost as good though doesn't take away from the fact that the iPhone 13 Pro Max is the best there is. And for that reason, it deserves its five-star score.

With faster screens, superb performance and long-lasting batteries, the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max are excellent phones. If you’re on a device older than the 12 Pros, you should consider upgrading just for the new ProMotion displays. Though the cameras also got a noteworthy improvement, I’m not sure they’re going to be the biggest draw. It’s honestly hard to spot the difference in quality between photos taken by Apple’s recent flagships. Features like Cinematic Mode, Photographic Styles and macro cameras are nice to have, but won’t define your iPhone 13 Pro experience. And though Apple was playing catch up to Android flagships by finally introducing 120Hz screens to its phones, there are now fewer things that Samsung and Google offer that the iPhones don’t. For basically anyone who doesn’t mind iOS, the iPhone 13 Pro (and Pro Max, if you don’t mind its weight) is a worthy upgrade.

The iPhone 13 Pro Max doesn’t change an awful lot from the iPhone 12 Pro Max, but the upgraded specs and new features here are significant. If the phone’s battery life and power are as good as Apple says they are, this could be one of the most impressive smartphones we’ve ever seen. The new camera features and the 120Hz display are the standout improvements, but that said, they’ve not the kind of game-changing upgrades that are likely to encourage you to upgrade from your iPhone 12 Pro Max. The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are a technological tour de force with best-in-class craftsmanship and hardware performance, as well as an iOS 15 platform that’s designed to take full advantage of their advanced capabilities. I think Apple’s display and camera upgrades are significant and enough to justify making the jump to the 13 Pro family. The 13 Pro Max is the one to get if you are looking for the most display and battery life in an iPhone — there’s no task or workflow that it isn’t up for. The smaller iPhone 13 Pro is just as powerful, but much easier to use with one hand on the go. Entry-level iPhone 13 Pro variants come with 128GB of onboard storage. You can double the memory for another $100. A 512GB iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max costs $200 more than the 256GB version. As all iPhone 13 models come without a charger, and only a Lightning cable, that’s almost S$2,000 investment for a basic Pro model, which doesn’t come cheap. Still, the Pro models continue to stand out as being the superior devices and while the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro come in the same 6.1-inch device, the larger 6.7-inch iPhone 13 Pro Max is the most expensive and ultimately, flagship model that packs the best in everything. The new Sierra Blue colour is understated in its beauty, and makes last year’s purple iPhone 12 looks loud by comparison. Ultimately, the iPhone 13 Pro Max has plenty to offer, but maybe not for its price. As some other features are also available in the iPhone 13 Pro model, the question is if you simply want to use these features on a bigger device.

I've always said that if you're an iPhone user and you take care of your smartphone, you can likely get at least three or even four years out of your device. Last year, the jump from the iPhone 11 Pro to the iPhone 12 Pro was far more substantial than I expected. It included a near-complete camera redesign and an entirely new look, two additions that are notorious for actually convincing people to upgrade. Camera performance has been improved in the iPhone 13 Pro/iPhone 13 Pro Max (but only marginally so), there's a new, powerful A15 chip, and Cinematic mode is indeed very cool. There's a lot to like about this year's iPhone 13 series, and it's a worthwhile upgrade if you're using an iPhone older than the 12. If you own an iPhone 12 device, though, you're likely better off waiting for the inevitable iPhone 14.

In previous years the iPhone Pro Max model had always offered extra features - such as image stabilisation or a greater zoom lens - to help set it apart from the pack. For 2021 it's a more level playing field, the only difference over the Pro model being the Pro Max's bigger screen and longer battery life. That big screen and battery are certainly useful for various tasks, but not all: the sheer size and weight of the device mean it's not something you can easily slip into your jeans pocket. Still, we've enjoyed using it to shoot video and photos more than any other iPhone 13 model because of the larger-scale visuals. Although the iPhone 13 Pro Max doesn't move the experience along hugely over its 2020 predecessor - much as we love the smoothness provided by ProMotion faster screen refresh - it's still the ultimate choice if you want all the features and all the stamina.

As with last year’s top-end iPhone, the Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max leads the way. It’s the best iPhone Apple now makes, and for Apple enthusiasts looking for the best phone the Cupertino firm offers, it remains the handset to buy. Overall, however, it’s a small improvement over last year’s Pro Max and, in certain areas, Android rivals are extending a significant lead. I’m quite sure Apple diehards will continue paying top dollar for the very best in iPhone technology but, for anyone on the fence, it may not be tempting enough.

There has been a rumor about the satellite calling feature, but unfortunately, the iPhone 13 series phone does not support any satellite calling feature. As we move into the future, Apple is improving every day with a definite release. These iPhone 13 Pro Max models also imply the same. Some of the brilliant and powerful features make the phone more interesting. Even the A15 bionic chip that supports 15 billion transistors is an improved version of the A14 that supports 11 billion only. Video quality has been improved with very advanced image processing and improved lenses. When we buy an iPhone, Apple’s next phone certainly makes us greedy because of its vastly improved specs. Therefore, we cannot control ourselves not to buy the best. Many of us are addicted to buying an iPhone. If you’re an iPhone fan too, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is the ultimate version. If you’re not an iOS fan and are looking for an alternative, then you can definitely check out the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 smartphone.

Modell:
