Der Intel Core i7-1185G7 ist ein sparsamer Quad-Core-SoC für Notebooks und Ultrabooks, der auf der Tiger-Lake-Architektur basiert und im September 2020 vorgestellt wurde. Tiger Lake wird im verbesserten 10nm+-Verfahren (SuperFin genannt) bei Intel gefertigt und nutzt die neuen Willow Cove CPU-Kerne mit einer neuen Mikroarchitektur. Der i7-1185G7 bietet vier Kerne mit 3 GHz Basistakt (bei 28 W TDP, 1,2 GHz bei 12 W) und 4,8 GHz Turbo-Takt (4,3 GHz für alle Kerne). Dadurch liegt die Leistung deutlich oberhalb des alten Ice-Lake basierten Core i7-1065G7 . Zum Zeitpunkt der Vorstellung ist der i7-1185G7 das schnellste Tiger-Lake-Modell. Seit Anfang 2021 unterstützt der i7-1185G7 offiziell vPro.
Eine weitere Neuerung ist die integrierte Intel Iris Xe G7 Grafikkarte (Gen 12) welche eine deutlich höhere Leistung wie die alte Iris Plus G7 in Ice Lake bieten soll. Im 1185G7 bietet die Iris Xe alle 96 EUs bei einem Takt von 400 - 1350 MHz.
Wie bisher wird auch weiterhin WLAN (Wifi 6) und nun auch Thunderbolt 4 / USB 4 und 4 Lanes PCIe 4 im Chip (teil-)integriert für schnellere, günstige und platzsparende Implementierungen in Notebooks.
Der TDP kann bei den UP3 CPUs von 12 - 28 Watt gewählt werden (mit unterschiedlichem Basistakt) und dadurch eignet sich die CPU auch für dünne und leichte Notebooks.
AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS ► remove from comparison
Der AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS ist ein Mobilprozessor für große Notebooks (z.B. Gaming Laptops) basierend auf die Rembrandt Generation. Der SoC beinhaltet acht Zen 3+ Kerne (Octa-Core CPU) welche mit bis zu 4,9 GHz getaktet werden (Turbo) und SMT / Hyperthreading (16 Threads) unterstützen. Der Chip wird im modernen 6nm Prozess bei TSMC gefertigt und wurde Anfang 2022 vorgestellt. Als HS-Variante ist der TDP um 10W reduziert und dadurch eignet sich die CPU für dünnere Notebooks.
Die neuen Rembrandt APUs bieten einige Neuerungen, wie Support für USB4 mit 40 Gbps, PCI-E Gen 4, DDR5-4800MT/s bzw LPDDR5-6400MT/s, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth LE 5.2, DisplayPort 2 und AV1 Decode in Hardware.
Die CPU Leistung ist pro Takt vergleichbar mit den alten Ryzen 5000 APUs, dank des neuen 6nm Prozess sind die CPUs aber höher getaktet und dadurch etwas schneller. Die neuen Alder Lake-H Modelle (wie der i9-12900HK sollten durch die höhere Kernanzahl aber noch eine bessere Multi-Threaded-Performance zeigen). Durch den um 100 MHz reduzierten Turbo-Takt, sollte die Performance nur knapp hinter dem Effizienz-Spitzenmodell Ryzen 9 6980HS liegen. Im Vergleich zum ähnlichen R9 6900HX (45W, Übertaktung möglich), ist die Leistung bei längeren Lasten durch den verringerten TDP beim 6900HS limitiert.
Eine besondere Neuheit ist die aktualisierte Grafikkarte namens Radeon 680M , die nun endlich auf die aktuelle RDNA2-Architektur basiert und im 6900HX 12 CUs mit bis zu 2,4 GHz Takt bietet.
Der TDP ist bei den HS-Modellen mit 35 Watt spezifiziert, wodurch sich die CPU auch für dünnere Notebooks eignet.
