Der Intel Core i7-10810U ist ein sparsamer Sechskern-SoC der Comet-Lake-Architektur welche im März 2020 aufgetaucht ist. Im Vergleich zu Kaby Lake und Whiskey Lake gibt es bei Comet Lake anscheinend keine Unterschiede ausser den zwei zusätzlichen Kernen im Topmodell. Der Prozessor wird weiterhin im reifen 14nm Prozess (14nm++ wie Whiskey Lake) hergestellt und kann dadurch einen sehr hohen Turbo Takt bieten. Die Prozessorkerne takten mit 1,1 Basistakt bis zu 4,9 GHz). Dank HyperThreading 12 Threads gleichzeitig bearbeiten. Im Vergleich zum bisherigen Spitzenmodell, dem Core i7-10710U , bietet der 10810U höhere Turbo Taktraten und vPro-Support.

Die integrierte Grafikkarte hört wahrscheinlich weiterhin auf den Namen Intel UHD Graphics 620 , unterscheidet sich jedoch nicht von der Intel HD Graphics 620. Im i7-10710U taktet sie von 300 - 1150 MHz. Weiters bietet die CPU noch einen integrierten DDR4-2666 / LPDDR4x 2933 / LPDDR3-2133 Dual-Channel-Speichercontroller sowie VP9- und H.265-Videode- und -encoder.
Performance
Die Leistung des i7-10810U hängt stark vom konfigurierten TDP, wie lange der Boost laufen darf und von der Kühlung ab. Dadurch kann es zu einer hohen Schwankungsbreite kommen. Durch die zwei zusätzlichen Prozessorkerne, sollte die Leistung bei Multi-Thread-Anwendungen deutlich oberhalb der Core i7 der Whiskey-Lake Generation liegen (z.B. Core i7-8665U ). Bei längerer Last, wird jedoch die Kühlung und das TDP Limit die Leistung beschränken und wahrscheinlich unterhalb von 35 Watt Quad-Core CPUs drücken. Durch den schnellen Turbo Boost Takt, ist auch die Einzelkernleistung exzellent, wodurch der i7 auch die schnellsten Ice Lake CPUs wie den Core i7-1065G7 schlagen sollte.
Per cTDP up/down kann der Stromverbrauch und die Leistung vom Notebookhersteller von 12.5 auf 25 Watt eingestellt werden. Um die volle Leistung des Prozessors abrufen zu können ("Performance"-Modus) muss der Notebook-Hersteller jedoch bis zu 90W an Spitzen (PL4) zur Verfügung stellen, wodurch manche dünne Notebooks dies nicht anbieten werden. Die schwächeren 4-Kerner von CML-U brauchen bis zu 82W PL4, Whiskey Lake war noch mit 71W spezifiziert.
Intel Core i7-1260P ► remove from comparison
Der Intel Core i7-1260P ist eine High-End-CPU auf Basis der neuen Alder-Lake-Architektur, die im Januar 2022 vorgestellt wurde. Die CPU basiert auf den Alder Lake-P Chip (für H und P-Serie) und bietet 4 der 6 Performance Kerne (P-Kerne, Golden Cove Architektur) und alle 8 Effizienzkerne (E-Kerne, Gracemont Architektur). Die P-Kerne unterstützten Hyperthreading (daher gemeinsam 16 Threads) und takten von 2,1 bis 4,7 GHz. Die E-Kerne takten von 1,5 - 3,4 GHz und sollen eine vergleichbare Performance wie alte Skylake Kerne bieten (z.B. i7-6300HQ ). Im Vergleich zum Core i7-1270P , bietet der 1260P um 100 MHz geringer getaktete CPU-Kerne und nur vPro "Essentials" Support.
Performance
Durch die 12 Kerne sollte die Multithread-Leistung deutlich oberhalb der alten 28 - 35 Watt 4-Kerner der Tiger Lake Serie liegen. Im Vergleich zu der H-Serie wird bei längerer Last aber der TDP die Leistung limitieren. Bei der Einzelkernperformance sollte der i7-1260P dank der neuen Architektur auch ähnlich schnelle Tiger Lake CPUs abhängen können.
Grafikeinheit
Wie auch der Vorgänger, integriert Intel in Alder Lake eine Intel Xe basierende Grafikeinheit. Beim 1260P sind alle 96 EUs aktiviert und takten mit bis zu 1,4 GHz.
Features
Wie auch Tiger Lake, hat auch Alder-Lake-P WiFi 6E und Thunderbolt 4 (4x) teilintegriert. Der integrierte Speicherkontroller unterstützt DDR5-4800, DDR4-3200, LPDDR5-5200 und LPDDR4x-4267. Der integrierte Gaussian and Neural Accelerator (GNA) ist nun in Version 3.0 verbaut. Die Media Engine Quick Sync 8 ist die selbe wie in Rocket Lake und unterstützt MPEG-2, AVC, VC-1 Decode, JPEG, VP8 Decode, VP9, HEVC und AV1 Decode. Der Chip unterstützt nur PCIe 4.0 (x8 for GPU und zwei x4 für SSDs).
Leistungsaufnahme
Der Intel Core i7-1260P ist mit 28 Watt TDP und 64 Watt (PL2) max. Turbo Power angegeben. Gefertigt wird der Prozessor im modernen Intel 7 Prozess (10 nm).
