Die CPU bietet 4 der 6 Performance Kerne (P-Kerne, Golden Cove Architektur) und 4 der 8 Effizienzkerne (E-Kerne, Gracemont Architektur). Die P-Kerne unterstützten Hyperthreading (daher gemeinsam 12 Threads) und takten von 2,1 bis 4,6 GHz (Einzelkern-Turbo, Mehrkern-Turbo 4,5 GHz). Die E-Kerne takten von 1,5 - 3,4 GHz und sollen eine vergleichbare Performance wie alte Skylake Kerne bieten (z.B. i7-6300HQ). Im Vergleich zum 12500H bietet der 12420H nur die Hälfte der E-Cores und einen geringeren Boost-Takt der P-Cores.
Performance
Durch die höheren Taktraten (+200 MHz Boost) sollte sich der i5-13420H leicht vom alten i5-12450H absetzen können.
Grafikeinheit
Wie auch der Vorgänger, integriert Intel in Alder Lake eine Intel Xe basierende Grafikeinheit. Beim 13420H sind nur 48 der 96 EUs aktiviert und takten mit bis zu 1,4 GHz.

Wie auch Tiger Lake, hat auch Alder-Lake-P WiFi 6E und Thunderbolt 4 (4x) teilintegriert. Der integrierte Speicherkontroller unterstützt nun DDR5-5200 (12. Generation nur max. 4800 MHz). Der integrierte Gaussian and Neural Accelerator (GNA) ist weiterhin in Version 3.0 verbaut. Die Media Engine Quick Sync 8 ist die selbe wie in Rocket Lake und unterstützt MPEG-2, AVC, VC-1 Decode, JPEG, VP8 Decode, VP9, HEVC und AV1 Decode. Der Chip unterstützt PCIe 5.0 x8 für eine dGPU und zwei PCIe 4.0 x4 für SSDs. Der PCH bietet noch PCIe Gen3 x12.
Leistungsaufnahme
Der Intel Core i5-13420H ist mit 45 Watt TDP angegeben (115W PL2). Gefertigt wird der i5 im weiter verbesserten Intel 7 Prozess (10 nm).

Die CPU basiert auf den Alder Lake-S Desktop-Chip und bietet alle 8 Performance Kerne (P-Kerne, Golden Cove Architektur) und 8 Effizienzkerne (E-Kerne, Gracemont Architektur). Die P-Kerne unterstützten Hyperthreading (daher gemeinsam 24 Threads) und takten von 2,3 bis 5 GHz. Die E-Kerne takten von 1,7 - 3,6 GHz und sollen eine vergleichbare Performance wie alte Skylake Kerne bieten (z.B. i7-6920HQ). Die CPU bietet einen freien Multiplikator, wodurch sich die CPU übertakten lässt. Im Unterschied zum 12950HX, bietet der 12900HX kein vPro oder ECC Support.
Performance
Durch die zwei zusätzlichen P-Kerne und den höheren TDP sollte der i9-12900HX deutlich schneller sein als der i9-12900HK. Dadurch eignet sich die CPU hervorragend für anspruchsvolle Anwendungen und Spiele.
Grafikeinheit
Wie auch der Vorgänger, integriert Intel in Alder Lake eine Intel Xe basierende Grafikeinheit. Beim 12900HX sind alle 32 EUs aktiviert und takten mit bis zu 1,55 GHz. Der schwächere 12900HK Mobilchip bietet 96 EUs.

Die E-Kerne takten von 1,8 - 3,7 GHz und sollen eine vergleichbare Performance wie alte Skylake Kerne bieten (z.B. i7-6920HQ).
Performance
Durch die höheren Taktraten der Rocket-Lake-Serie, kann der i7-13700H sich auf das Niveau des alten Core i9-12900H heben und gehört damit zu einer sehr schnellen mobilen CPU, die sich für alle Anwendungsbereiche hervorragend geeignet.
