Tiger Lake wird im verbesserten 10nm+-Verfahren (SuperFin genannt) bei Intel gefertigt und nutzt die neuen Willow Cove CPU-Kerne mit einer neuen Mikroarchitektur. Der Intel Core i5-1135G7 bietet vier Kerne mit 2,4 GHz Basistakt und 4,2 GHz Turbo-Takt. Im Vergleich bieten die schnelleren Core i7 Modelle einen deutlich höheren Takt (z.B. Core i7-1186G7 3 - 4,3 GHz).
Eine weitere Neuerung ist die integrierte Intel Iris Xe G7 Grafikkarte (Gen 12) welche eine deutlich höhere Leistung wie die alte Iris Plus G7 in Ice Lake bieten soll. Im 1135G7 bietet die Iris Xe jedoch nur 80 der 96 EUs bei einem Takt von 400 - 1300 MHz.
Wie bisher wird auch weiterhin WLAN (Wifi 6) und nun auch Thunderbolt 4 / USB 4 und 4 Lanes PCIe 4 im Chip (teil-)integriert für schnellere, günstige und platzsparende Implementierungen in Notebooks.
Der TDP kann bei den UP3 CPUs von 12 - 28 Watt gewählt werden und dadurch eignet sich die CPU auch für dünne und leichte Notebooks.
Intel Core M-5Y70
► remove from comparisonDer Intel Core M-5Y70 ist ein sparsamer Dual-Core-SoC auf Basis der Broadwell-Architektur, der im September 2014 vorgestellt wurde und in sehr dünnen, teils auch passiv gekühlten Ultrabooks oder Tablets bzw. 2-in-1-Notebooks zum Einsatz kommt. Neben den zwei CPU-Kernen samt Hyper-Threading, die mit 1,1 bis 2,6 GHz takten, integriert der Chip auch eine HD Graphics 5300 Grafikeinheit sowie einen Dual-Channel-Speichercontroller (LPDDR3/DDR3L(-RS), max. 25,6 GB/s). Die Fertigung erfolgt in einem 14-Nanometer-Prozess mit FinFET-Transistoren.
Architektur
Gemäß Intels Tick-Tock-Schema stellt Broadwell einen sogenannten "Tick", das heißt einen Shrink des Vorgängers Haswell dar. Die neue 14-Nanometer-Fertigung, bereits die zweite Prozessgeneration mit dreidimensionalen FinFET-Transistoren, erlaubt neben Verbesserungen der Energieeffizienz auch einen deutlich kleineren Die (und damit kompaktere Packages und Endgeräte).
Weitere Vorteile resultieren aus der überarbeiteten Mikroarchitektur Broadwells. Dank abermals verbesserter Sprungvorhersage, vergrößerten Buffern (1.500 statt 1.000 Einträge im L2 TLB) und anderen Tweaks steigt die Pro-MHz-Leistung um gut 5 Prozent an. Hinzu kommen einige neue Befehlssatzerweiterungen, die jedoch hauptsächlich für Kryptographie-Anwendungen relevant sind.
Performance
Der Core M-5Y70 verfügt über einen ausgesprochen großen Taktspielraum von 1,1 bis 2,6 GHz, der aufgrund der niedrigen TDP (4,5 Watt, konfigurierbar) jedoch nur kurzzeitig vollständig ausgeschöpft werden kann. Während die CPU in kurzen Benchmarks mit einem Core i5-4200U (Haswell, 15 Watt) konkurriert, fällt die Performance bei andauernder Vollauslastung noch unter das Niveau eines Core i3-3217U (Ivy Bridge, 15 Watt) ab. Die gesteigerte Effizienz kommt somit hauptsächlich der Leistungsaufnahme zugute.
Für Office- und Multimedia-Zwecke, aber auch etwas anspruchsvollere Anwendungen stehen in der Regel ausreichende Leistungsreserven zur Verfügung.
Grafikeinheit
Für die Grafikausgabe zeigt sich die im Prozessor integrierte Intel HD Graphics 5300 mit 24 EUs verantwortlich, die mit 100 - 850 MHz taktet. Ebenso wie beim Prozessor-Part wurde auch die Architektur der Grafikeinheit (Intel Gen 8) gründlich überarbeitet, sodass sich bei gleicher Taktrate und Zahl an Ausführungseinheiten eine höhere Performance gegenüber dem Vorgänger ergibt. Allerdings limitiert auch hier die niedrige TDP die Leistung, sodass sich die HD 5300 bei andauernder 3D-Last nur knapp oberhalb der HD 4200 und deutlich unter der HD 4400 ansiedelt. Aktuelle Spiele werden darum – wenn überhaupt – nur in niedrigsten Einstellungen und Details flüssig wiedergegeben.
Broadwell unterstützt als erster Intel-Chip vollständig die DirectX-11.2-API, ebenso wie OpenCL 1.3/2.0 und OpenGL 4.3. Die Bildausgabe erfolgt über DisplayPort 1.2 und HDMI 1.4a, der neuere HDMI-2.0-Standard fehlt dagegen.
Leistungsaufnahme
Mit einer TDP von nur 4,5 Watt liegt die Leistungsaufnahme des Core M-5Y70 deutlich unter der Haswell Y-Serie (11,5 Watt TDP). Die TDP ist allerdings konfigurierbar und kann sowohl auf 3,5 Watt abgesenkt als auch auf 6 Watt angehoben werden, was wiederum Auswirkungen auf die anliegenden Taktraten und damit die Performance hat. Auf die Angabe einer "typischen Leistungsaufnahme" (SDP) verzichtet Intel. Auch in dünnen Tablets lässt sich die CPU problemlos passiv kühlen, ohne dass sich das Chassis übermäßig erwärmt.
Intel Core i7-1195G7
► remove from comparisonDer Intel Core i7-1195G7 ist ein sparsamer Quad-Core-SoC für Notebooks und Ultrabooks, der auf der Tiger-Lake-Architektur basiert Mitte 2021 als Refresh vorgestellt wurde. Tiger Lake wird im verbesserten 10nm+-Verfahren (SuperFin genannt) bei Intel gefertigt und nutzt die neuen Willow Cove CPU-Kerne mit einer neuen Mikroarchitektur. Der Basistakt liegt zwischen 1,3 GHz (12 Watt TDP) bis 3,9 GHz (28 Watt TDP). Der Turbo kann bis zu 5 GHz erreichen (einzelner Kern mit Turbo Boost 3.0). Alle Kerne können maximal 4,6 GHz erreichen. Zum Zeitpunkt der Vorstellung ist der i7-1195G7 das schnellste Tiger-Lake-Modell.
Die integrierte Intel Iris Xe G7 Grafikkarte (Gen 12) bietet alle 96 EUs bei einem Takt von 400 - 1400 MHz.
