Der Intel Xeon W-11855M ist ein Hexa-Core-Prozessor für Notebooks und mobile Workstations. Er basiert auf die Tiger-Lake-Architektur (H45) und wurde im 2. Quartal 2021 präsentiert. Der Chip bietet einen TDP von 45 Watt (konfigurierbar). Die sechs Prozessorkerne können von 3,2 bis 4,9 GHz (Einzel- und Zweikern-Turbo mit ITBM 3.0) takten. Alle Kerne gemeinsam können maximal 4,4 GHz erreichen. Der Prozessor bietet 18 MB Level 3 Cache und unterstützt DDR4-3200. Die integrierte Grafik basiert auf die Xe-Architektur und ist UHD Graphics benannt (32 EUs). Im Xeon W-11855M taktet sie von 350 - 1450 MHz. Der Chip wird im neuen 10nm SuperFin Prozess gefertigt.
Dank der neuen Tiger Lake Architektur sollte die Leistung deutlich oberhalb des Vorgängers, dem Intel Core i7-10850H (Comet Lake-H, 6 Kerne, 2,7 - 5,1 GHz, 16 MB L3) liegen (Einzel- und Mehrkernperformance). Damit sollte die Performance vergleichbar sein eines einem aktuellem Ryzen 5 5600H (Zen 3, 6 Kerne, 3,3 - 4,4 GHz, 16 MB L3). Im Vergleich zu anderen TGL-H CPUs, is tder Xeon W-11855M der schnellste 6-Kerner vor dem Core i5-11500H.
Wie bei den kleineren Tiger-Lake-Chips wird auch hier WLAN (Wifi 6E) und Thunderbolt 4 / USB 4 im Chip (teil-)integriert für schnellere, günstige und platzsparende Implementierungen in Notebooks. Weiters bietet der Xeon W-11855M 20 PCIe 4.0 Lanes.
Der TDP ist bei 3,2 GHz Basistakt mit 45 Watt spezifiziert und kann auf 35 Watt und dadurch 2,6 GHz verringert werden (cTDP). Trotzdem eignet sich die CPU am besten für große und schwere Notebooks.
Intel Core i5-12500H ► remove from comparison
Der Intel Core i5-12500H ist eine High-End-CPU auf Basis der neuen Alder-Lake-Architektur, die im Januar 2022 vorgestellt wurde. Die CPU basiert auf den Alder Lake-P Chip (für H und P-Serie) und bietet 4 der 6 Performance Kerne (P-Kerne, Golden Cove Architektur) und alle 8 Effizienzkerne (E-Kerne, Gracemont Architektur). Die P-Kerne unterstützten Hyperthreading (daher gemeinsam 16 Threads) und takten von 2,5 bis 4,5 GHz. Die E-Kerne takten von 1,8 - 3,3 GHz und sollen eine vergleichbare Performance wie alte Skylake Kerne bieten (z.B. i7-6300HQ ). Im Vergleich zum 12600H bietet der 12500H weniger Basistakt, eine langsamer getaktete iGPU und nur "Essentials" vPro .
Performance
Durch die 10 Kerne sollte die Multithread-Leistung oberhalb der alten Tiger-Lake-8-Kerner (bei vergleichbaren Takt, also schneller als ein i5-11500H 6-Kerner mit bis zu 4,6 GHz) liegen. Bei der Einzelkernperformance dürfte der 12500H auch noch schneller sein, dank der neuen Architektur. Vergleich zum i5-12600H , sollte der 12500H sehr ähnlich performen (bei ausreichend Kühlung).
Grafikeinheit
Wie auch der Vorgänger, integriert Intel in Alder Lake eine Intel Xe basierende Grafikeinheit. Beim 12500H sind nur 80 der 96 EUs aktiviert und takten mit bis zu 1,3 GHz.
Features
Wie auch Tiger Lake, hat auch Alder-Lake-P WiFi 6E und Thunderbolt 4 (4x) teilintegriert. Der integrierte Speicherkontroller unterstützt DDR5-4800, DDR4-3200, LPDDR5-5200 und LPDDR4x-4267. Der integrierte Gaussian and Neural Accelerator (GNA) ist nun in Version 3.0 verbaut. Die Media Engine Quick Sync 8 ist die selbe wie in Rocket Lake und unterstützt MPEG-2, AVC, VC-1 Decode, JPEG, VP8 Decode, VP9, HEVC und AV1 Decode. Der Chip unterstützt nur PCIe 4.0 (x8 for GPU und zwei x4 für SSDs).
Leistungsaufnahme
Der Intel Core i5-12500H ist mit 45 Watt TDP angegeben (95W PL2). Bei geringer Last, sollte der Stromverbrauch dank der sparsamen Gracemont Kerne sehr gut sein. Gefertigt wird der i5-12500H im modernen Intel 7 Prozess (10 nm).
