Die AMD Radeon RX Vega M GL bzw. Radeon RX Vega 870 (laut Dell) ist die integrierte Grafikkarte in den schwächeren Intel Kaby-Lake-G SoCs, wie dem Core i7-8706G, i7-8706G oder i5-8305G. Sie wurde Anfang 2018 von Intel vorgestellt und befindet sich direkt auf dem selben Package wie der Kaby-Lake Prozessor und 4 GB HBM2 Grafikspeicher. Nach ersten veröffentlichten Benchmarks von Intel sollte die Leistung zwischen einer GTX 1050 und GTX 1050 Ti liegen. Die Treiber werden von Intel veröffentlicht, sind jedoch anscheinend nur leicht modifizierte AMD Treiber. Die Vega M GL nutzt 20 CUs (1280 Shader) bei einer Taktrate von 931 bis 1011 MHz (Boost).

Anscheinend ist die Grafikkarte eine Mischung aus Polaris (Shader?) und Vega (zumindest dem Speicherkontroller). Nähere Informationen gibt es nicht, jedoch gibt sich die GPU als Polaris 22 aus und unterstützt auch nicht die selben DirectX 12 Features wie die Vega Desktop Grafikkarten. Der Stromverbrauch sollte ähnlich einer dedizierten Vega Mobile GPU sein, wobei die Kaby-Lake-G Kombination eventuell durch eine gemeinsame Stromversorgung effizienter arbeiten kann.

Intel HD Graphics 630

Die Intel HD Graphics 630 (GT2) ist eine integrierte Grafikeinheit, die in verschiedenen Desktop- und Notebook-Prozessoren der 2016-2017 vorgestellten Kaby-Lake-Generation zu finden ist. Die mittlere, auch "GT2" genannte Ausbaustufe verfügt über 24 EUs (Execution Units bzw. Ausführungseinheiten). Technisch unterscheidet sie sich von der HD Graphics 530 der Skylake Generation nicht, die Taktraten könnten jedoch minimal höher sein und auch der Turbo könnte dank des verbesserten 14nm+ Prozess schneller anspringen.

Performance

Die exakte Leistung der HD Graphics 630 hängt vom jeweiligen CPU-Modell ab, da sich TDP, Maximaltaktrate und Größe des L3-Caches teils stark unterscheiden können. Zum anderen bestimmt auch der verwendete Speicher (DDR3/DDR4) die Performance. Im Durchschnitt sollte die Leistung jedoch nur minimal oberhalb der Intel HD Graphics 530 liegen, wodurch sich anspruchsvolle Spiele aus 2016 wie Watch Dogs 2, Dishonored 2 oder Mafia 3 nicht spielbar sind. Weniger anspruchsvolle Spiele wie Overwatch oder Farming Simulator 17 sind jedoch in niedrigen Details flüssig spielbar. Siehe auch die Seite der Intel HD Graphics 530 für weitere Spielebenchmarks.

Features

Neu bei der Kaby-Lake Generation ist die verbesserte Videoengine, welche nun auch H.265/HEVC im Main10-profil mit 10 Bit Farbtiefe sowie Googles VP9-Codec in Hardware dekodieren kann. Die Chips mit HD Graphics 530 sollten auch bereits HDCP 2.2 unterstützen und somit z.B. Netflix-Videos unter Windows 10 in 4K ausgeben können (im Gegensatz zu den ersten Kaby-Lake Dual-Core Chips mit Intel HD Graphics 620). HDMI 2.0 unterstützt die HD Graphics 630 jedoch weiterhin nur per Wandler (LSPCon) über den DisplayPort.

Leistungsaufnahme

Die HD Graphics 630 ist in Desktop- und Notebook-Prozessoren verschiedener TDP-Klassen zu finden. Die Quad-Core CPUs sind jedoch meistens in größeren und schwereren Notebooks verbaut. Der verbesserte 14nm+ Prozess verspricht jedoch eine etwas geringere Leistungsaufnahme im Vergleich zur Intel HD Graphics 530.

AMD Radeon RX Vega 56

Die AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 ist eine High-End-Desktop-Grafikkarte, und wurde im August 2017 vorgestellt. Sie basiert auf der Vega-Architektur basiert (Vega-10-Chip) und ist mit dem schnellen HBM2-VRAM ausgestattet. Hinter der AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 ist die AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 die zweitschnellste Grafikkarte, welche AMD 2017 auf den Markt gebracht hatte. Inzwischen sind die beiden Topmodelle von der AMD Radeon VII abgelöst worden.

Das Referenzdesign der AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 bietet 56 CUs mit 1.138 – 1.474 MHz (Boost) Taktfrequenz und 8 GB HBM2-Grafikspeicher mit einer Taktfrequenz von 800 MHz. Dieser ist über ein 2.048 Bit breites Speicherinterface angebunden, was einer Speicherbandbreite von 409.6 GB/s entspricht.

Features

Der Vega-10-Grafikchip wird im 14-nm-Verfahren gefertigt. Der Die misst 495 mm² und vereint  ca. 12,5 Mrd. Transistoren. Beim Vega-20-Chip, welcher bei der neueren AMD Radeon VII zu Einsatz kommt, sind es inzwischen mit ca. 13,2 Mrd. etwas mehr. Insgesamt bietet die AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 3.584 Shadereinheiten. Raytracing- oder Tensor-Kerne, mit denen Nvidia seine neuen RTX-Modelle ausgestattet hat, bietet die Radeon RX Vega 56 nicht.

Performance

Die Leistung der AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 ist mit einer Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 vergleichbar. Mit dieser Leistung sortiert sich die AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 in der gehoberen Mittelkasse ein. Spiele des Jahres 2018 und 2019 lassen sich mit der AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 in hohen Einstellungen und WQHD-Auflösung (2.560 x 1.440 Pixel) flüssig spielen.

Leistungsaufnahme

Die Leistungsaufnahme der AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 wird vom Hersteller mit 210 Watt angegeben. In Sachen Watt pro Leistung hat die Radeon RX Vega 56 gegenüber der Konkurrenz von Nvidia deutlich das Nachsehen, denn die GeForce GTX 1070 ist mit 150 Watt spezifiziert.
