Die AMD Radeon RX Vega 9 ist eine integrierte Grafikkarte für Notebooks. Sie befindet sich in den Ryzen 5 APUs (z.B. Ryzen 5 3580U Microsoft Surface Edition), welche gegen Ende 2019 vorgestellt wurden. Die GPU basiert auf die Vega Architektur (5. Generation GCN) und bietet 9 der 11 CUs (= 576 der 704 Shader) mit bis zu 1300 MHz (im Ryzen 5 3580U). Die Leistung ist abhängig vom konfigurierten TDP (12-25 Watt zum Launch), der Taktung im Modell, der Kühlung und vom verbauten Hauptspeicher. Von schnellem Dual-Channel DDR4-2400 Speicher dürfte die Grafikkarte deutlich profitieren (im Gegensatz zu auch möglichen DDR4-2133 Single-Channel).

Die Vega Architektur bietet einige Verbesserungen zur Polaris Generation und unterstützt nun z.B. DirectX 12 Feature Level 12_1. Mehr Informationen dazu finden Sie in unserem Raven Ridge Architekturartikel.

Die Leistung dürfte sich theoretisch auf dem Niveau der GeForce 940MX befinden. Durch den fehlenden eigenen Grafikspeicher, ist die Performance jedoch pro Spiel und Setting unterschiedlich. Generell eignet sie sich aber eher für anspruchslose Spiele wie League of Legends oder Counter Strike: Go. Im Vergleich zur Vega 8 und Vega 10, sollte sich die Vega 9 klarerweise zwischen beiden einordnen.

Der Stromverbrauch ist dank 14nm Prozess und ausgeklügelten Stromsparmechanismen relativ gering (laut AMD) und daher eignet sich die Grafikkarte auch für dünne und leichte Notebooks.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Max-Q

Die Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 mit Max-Q Design ist eine mobile Gaming-Grafikkarte der Oberklasse. Sie basiert auf die mobile RTX 2060 bei reduzierten Kerntaktraten und deutlich reduzierten Stromverbrauch. Sie wurde zuerst im Asus Zephyrus G14 eingesetzt.

Mit dem Refresh wurden die Max-Q Technologien überarbeitet und bieten nun neben einer verbesserten Effizienz durch (neue Spannungswandler, Low-Power-GDDR6) auch zwei optionale Features. Der Notebookhersteller kann Dynamic Boost implementieren um Strom von der CPU zur GPU zu verlagern (TDP in 5 Watt Schritten). Weiters gibt es einen neuen "Dynamic Display Switch" für Advanced Optimus der G-SYNC und bis zu 4K 120 Hz ermöglichen.

Der verwendete Turing Chip wird in 12nm gefertigt und bietet eine Reihe neuer Features, wie DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) und Real Time Ray Tracing. Dadurch lassen sich vor allem Beleuchtungseffekte sehr viel realistischer darstellen. Weiterhin gibt es Support für DisplayPort 1.4 (ready), HDMI 2.0b, HDR, Simultaneous Multi-Projection (SMP) sowie H.265 Video De- und Encoding (PlayReady 3.0). 

Performance

Die Performance der Max-Q Version der GeForce RTX 2060 liegt durch die geringeren Taktraten leicht unter der mobilen RTX 2060. Damit eignet sie sich besonders für 1080p und maximale Details bzw. bis zu 4K bei weniger anspruchsvollen Spielen.

Der Stromverbrauch ist mit etwa 65 Watt TGP spezifiziert und damit deutlich niedriger als die 80 - 90 Watt der normalen GeForce RTX 2060.

 

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050 Mobile

Die Nvidia GeForce RTX 2050 für Laptops (GN20-S7) ist eine mobile Gaming-Grafikkarte der unteren Mittleklasse. Sie bietet mit 2.048 Shader sogar mehr Kerne als die RTX 2060, aber der Speicherbus wurde deutlich beschnitten (nur 64 Bit). Dadurch kann auch ein niedriger Stromverbrauch errreicht werden (30 - 45 Watt TGP). Je nach Variante erreicht die GPU einen Boost-Speed von 1155 - 1477 MHz. Die bis zu 4 GB GDDR6 Grafikspeicher werden mit 14 GBps getaktet und erreichen damit 112 GB/s maximalen Datendurchsatz. Im Unterschied zur baugleichen GeForce MX570 bietet die RTX 2050 Support für Raytracing und DLSS.

Performance

Die Performance der mobilen GeForce RTX 2050 sollte durch den beschnittenen Speicherbus deutlich unterhalb der mobilen RTX 2060 liegen. Erste Benchmarks zeigen eine Leistung knapp oberhalb der GeForce 1650 und auf dem Niveau der baugleichen GeForce MX570. Dank DLSS kann bei einigen Spielen aber eine höhere Qualität erreicht werden.

Der GA107 Chip wird bei Samsung im 8nm (8N) Verfahren welches mit dem 7nm Verfahren von TSMC nicht ganz mithalten kann
